5-0 out of 5 stars Small but great
I have one of these and I listen to it everywhere I go, great sound quality and good battery life. I have run out of space however, so I would recommend a newer one with a larger hard drive.

So easy to use, and really cool in the with a tape deck or itrip.

    Recommend to anyone.

    4-0 out of 5 stars It's No Mini-Disc Player!
My Sony mini-disc player died after a short life (moment of silence). So when I got a new job, the toy of choice was an iPod. What a difference!

The bad as compared to the mini-disc player is that the iPod doesn't have an LCD display remote control. So with so many songs, it's hard to blindly navigate if your iPod is stashed away. Hopefully Apple will create such a remote. Otherwise, it wins over the mini-disc player hands down!

The new mini-discs hold 5 hours of music. 2 years ago that was a big deal. My 20 Gig iPod has 17 hours of music already and I am using merely 390 MB. That's less than a fraction of its capacity. The iPod's looking at me like, "When are you gonna REALLY add some music?"

The 3 lines of music data display the song title, artist, and even album! And the sound...oh boy. I feel like I'm at a concert! Excellent sound! You can also tweak the sound with the equalizer.

Once they make that LCD remote to make navigating easier, it'll be perfect. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Mobile Jukebox and more
It's great having my entire cd collection (over 550) in one tiny place. Now I'm listening to music I own some of which I hadn't listened to in years.

I was really excited when I got my iPod. From the packaging, to the device itself, the design is outstanding. Very easy to use. Sound quality is very good. Can be used as a back up hard drive too. Software is a no brainer to use.

I also faced the problem of tracks skipping but all I had to do was delete affected tracks/albums and recopy and they were fine.

Was able to get lots of useful advice from other people's reviews, e.g. how to ensure long battery life (try not to let the battery run out completely) and how to copy music files back to your pc which quite a number of people are unaware can be done (change your folder options to show hidden files). I do it all the time.

So why not 5 stars? It's not perfect. Battery life could be better, and it does scratch rather easily. Oh, did I mention the earphones? Not too good I'm afraid, and very painful on the ears, when worn for a bit. Thank God I had some good Sony headphones. Also, the fact that it does not support the much smaller WMA files which take up much less space than mp3s. I've got about 7300 tracks on my iPod, and only about 4gb space left.

Still a cool device that never fails to turn heads.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not for long distance runners!!!
Talk about frustration!! What I thought was a really great break through, turned out to be a total nightmare. After 25 minutes the Ipod would either completely stop working all together or just skip repeatedly then stop. I found out that it was designed to "catch up" after 25 minutes but it wouldnt even start again most of the time, just freeze up and be completely worthless.Returning it was a even bigger nightmare because no one was able to test it out and see that it would malfunction....I guess if you work for Apple stores you dont run. I had to pay a restocking fee to get rid of this nightmare. NEVER will I purchase another item from Apple.I love my Nomad Muvo that I bought, and couldnt be happier.

1-0 out of 5 stars junk
Your better off with a Nomad. I tried 2 ipods and they will only synch with one PC. So if you want to transfer mp3 from pcto another forget this thing. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars HELP!
Hi! My father is an avid reader of this magazine, but due to an accident that was my fault, his September/October issue was lost. I feel TERRIBLE and am looking to replace it. If anyone has this issue, please contact me, I would love to buy it from you and will pay top dollar. Thanks so much!

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally!Man stuff without the smut!
A guy can't walk through the magazine aisle at the department or grocery store without being visually bombarded with sensual images of airbrushed models screaming "TOP TEN SEX SECRETS!" or some similarly tantilizing headline. With great gratitude I can thank New Man Magazine for allowing me to leave the eye-popping magazine racks behind.

New Man is a magazine geared for men, but with a twist. The twist is, everything is focused with a lens of moral clarity, in essence allowing guys to be guys but helping them to also improve their lives and become better men.It has most of the same features as other men's mags including a monthly fitness column, interviews with successful/admirable men, and even sex tips (for use in marriage). You won't find a "Top Ten Places To Pick Up Women" list here.Instead, New Man would offer "Top Ten Ways To Wow Your Wife".

The articles are written with a great deal of self-examining humor. While a number of other men's publications deal solely in fantasy, New Man presents articles with a healthy dose of reality.Every issue has at least one article where I find myself saying, "Man, I've gotta do THAT!"They've also got features on tech stuff, adventure experiences, new toys and gadgets, tips on personal accountability, and the ever popular "what the heck is my wife thinking" articles (often penned by women!).Don't think you have to be married to enjoy this magazine, though. There are lots of articles that will appeal to guys in general, regardless of age or relationship status.

If you're looking for a well-designed magazine that can feed your need for guy stuff but you won't feel like you have to hide it from your wife/girlfriend/mom, this could be your new favorite mag.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff
People new to this magazine might be put off by some of the articles. However, this is a magazine about Christian men and their issues. A recommendation is to read "Old Man, New Man" by Stephen Strang. The issue is full of helpful content, so coming out every two months is not so bad. However, some of the doctrinal issues are pushed rather heavily, not all of which I agree with (mostly charismatic issues). On the other hand, the chest-thumping is very minor and downplayed for other activities, which is good. Some of the bandwagon mentality remains, but there is much helpful advice (we do not want to throw out the baby with the bathwater). There are articles from some very good and respected writers, as well "classics" from quite a while ago that still remains true today. All in all, a magazine worth checking out for Christian men. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Filling the Gap
Until Razor Magazine there were 2 types of (non-adult) men's magazines. On one side you had a more immature and childish group of mags, like MAXIM, Stuff and FHM. These magazines basically contain cleavage, crude humor and assinine stories. Now don't get me wrong, sometimes they were good for a quick laugh, but were not complete. I mean, you have over 100 pages and it takes only 10 minutes to finish the entire publication.

On the other side you had the classic men's mags, GQ and Esquire. In their prime they were the epitome of manliness, but now they seem to point towards the rogaine and ben-gay crowd. They are also good for some items, but they seemed to be just a little to old for me.

So here I am, 32 years old. I am past the college party guy attitude the MAXIM's of the world are geared for, and I am not old enough to get my first colonoscopy. What do I do?

Fortunately there is Razor Magazine. It has humor (not fart related), beautiful women (not the same 3 covermodels rotated quarterly), long interesting articles (not 1 paragraph caption like writings), travel, fashion, finance and more...

It fills the gap. I now have a magazine aimed at me. The guy who has graduated, grown up a bit and wants intelligent entertainment. I liked MAXIM, but then I grew out of it. I like Esquire, but I am not ready for it.

I have respect for all the magazines, they each have their niche in the market, and they are the leaders of their domain. I am so glad Razor Magazine filled the emptiness in the market where my demographic was stranded. For others MAXIM or GQ may be perfect, for me Razor Magazine is written like it had me in mind.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best in Men's Entertainment Bar None
I have read my share of men's magazines, but for my money the best on the market is Razor.I have been following Razor for a while and while it has gotten better by the month, the July issue convinced me to be a subscriber for good.

I have read some reviews stating that Razor is not Maxim or FHM.That's true, it's not.And thank god for that.In my opinion, once you read Maxim once, there's no need to buy another issue. It's the same thing month after month.

Razor is simply a more sophisticated, more informative, more balanced view at the lifestyle of the average, mature guy.

The July issue, for example, hits that balance perfectly. There's the guide to Las Vegas, which covers where to stay, where to eat, the best pools for scenery and the recipes for feature cocktails at various hotels. There is a scathing, yet hysterical look at PETA by Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller fame which follows in the same vein of an earlier terrific expose on the Church of Scientology.Jillette's article is a pleasure to read. There's a look by Stephen Applebaum on Hollywood's marketing of violence to children and how Hollywood may have learned nothing from the Columbine High School shootings.Again, a terrific read that is not at all obtuse (See GQ).One more feature is for all the people who love those HBO autopsy shows, a nice piece that takes you into the lab.Again, well written and informative.

On a more fun note (balance), there is a look at six of the top convertibles on the market today. And this is where Razor shines as the choices range from reasonable for any working man, to luxurious for those who are fortunate enough to be able to purchase such a vehicle. The sex advice article is about where to find opportnities to meet the fairer sex; it is funny and enjoyable without being lewd.

Two fashion features consist of summer wear for day and night.Again, the fashions are reasonable and realistic for any working man.

Finally, there are the girls - (they are part of a man's lifestyle too right?) - but Razor presents them in a completely different light than the Maxim's of this world.Beautifully filmed and without that fake airbrushed look, Talisa Soto shines. There is another beach shoot (fashion) that is just perfect.

Throw in advice on style, travel, wines, finance and more and you can see why it's my opinion that Razor is the most balanced men's magazine out there. It's a magazine that I am proud to have around when company stops by.Even my girlfriend is a big fan.

For the record, I am 28 and an entrepreneur.

3-0 out of 5 stars Razor On The Rebound
Razor lost its way for awhile but I read that the editor has been replaced and the publisher is taking a more hands on role and adding more of his lifestyle to the publication. That's a good thing.I hope some of the star contributors like A.J. Benza and Alan Spencer return more regularly. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Unlike most of its counterparts in the men's magazine ranks, Cigar Aficionado targets a classier, more cultivated man, the guy who'd rather smoke a Montecristo and savor the indulgence of a cherry-red '65 Mustang convertible than read about what Hollywood stars have to say while they eat lunch. It's the mature man's Esquire, a magazine that's more interested in yachts, rum, and golf than it is in this season's new fashions. As the name suggests, at the heart of the magazine is the cigar, with articles investigating everything from California smoking laws to Cuban politics. It's true that you don't have to smoke cigars to enjoy Cigar Aficionado, but Cigar Aficionado is a magazine that will try its very hardest to get you to enjoy cigars. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

I have been smoking cigars for 2 years now and I have no regrets, well actually just one, not subscribing to the Cigar Aficionado magazine earlier. This magazine will make you into a true cigar smoker just after reading one article. For those people who are thinking about making cigars their new hobby then go out and buy this magazine as you will be extremely appreciative in the end. Well, I'm off now to enjoy my Montecristo No. 4 cigar, so long.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not What It Used To Be
I've been reading Runner's World for several years now but I am going to stop.Month after month I'll look at the cover and get excited about an "article" they say is included in the issue, only to locate the "article" and find it is no more than either a fluff piece of information that must be targeted toward someone who has never ran so much as a city block in their life, or it is a three sentence answer to a reader's question that was sent in.Do these actually count as in depth pieces that warrant advertisement on the cover?

Furthermore, every issue is the same. There will be an article on losing five lbs. by the holidays/summer/race season - whatever month the issue happens to come out. There will be a shoe review (blah!).There will be a "Fifty Ways To Stay Motivated" piece - which is always the same commonsensical tips. And there will be a "Special Woman's Section" - which, when it shows up every single month, makes me wonder just how "special" it could really be.

Once in a while there will be a good recipe, or a decent (but way too short) article on a runner. However, you could save alot of money by only purchasing one issue of this magazine because, except for the pictures and graphics, all the articles will be pretty much the same month after month.

3-0 out of 5 stars Only one issue's experience
I bought the issue because I was told there was an article about beginning runners training for their first half marathon. The article was mentioned on the cover. It turned out to be a fluff piece giving reasons why it was better to run a half marathon than a full one for your first long race.I didn't find a lot more depth.Motivational, some general ideas, but I didn't come away with a lot of technical information.

5-0 out of 5 stars Your Best Friend
Sometimes you need a friend to help you out the door and to motivate you to start your running program. This magazine did exactly that for me.Along with its thorough web-site, runnersworld.com, I started a running program that took me from running two minutes at a time to running a 5K (3miles) in twenty-two minutes in only fifteen weeks.Unlike many other magazines, this one does not over burden you with excessive advertisements and random space fillers. All articles are helpful and cover a broad spectrum of practical and entertaining subjects. The best magazine I have ever encountered, you won't be able to put it down! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Men's Health Helped Me
Two years ago I was 285 lbs.At 5'8", that was morbidly overweight as my doctor would write on his checklist of me.
I made a conscious decision to change myself.I read Men's Health and followed the articles' suggestions.I followed the eating lifestyle they suggested.I exercised using various exercise they suggested.

Eventually, I bought the "Book of Muscle" they also published.
Today I am 160lbs and fit.Playing baseball, playing with my kids.
Men's Health is filled with great articles about fitness, health, healthy eating, exercise, sex, etc...I only gave it four stars since there is generally a good portion of fluff in there that I don't read. For example, I really don't care to know what drinks attract women at a bar.But if you pass over the fluff and read the substance, and actually DO some of the things they suggest, you can look like the guy on the cover.

Like anything else in life, nothing is free, hard work and dedication are required.

2-0 out of 5 stars Heath Club
Men's Health magazine would be a great publication if it was a bit more practical in the information that it distributes. A majority of the articles and columns "seem to assume" that most of its readership already lead active, healthy lifestyles. Most men (myself included) do not, but are seeking practical advice. Believe it or not, I get more help reading an issue of Maxim or Esquire, than I did with my Men's Health subscription. The magazine fills a niche I suppose, but if you already look like those photographed in any given issue, then you don't need to read it. Impracticle if you ask me, Just once, I'd like to have felt as though it was targeted to average guys like me and my pals. Reading this publication does nothing to motivate me to improve my life.

4-0 out of 5 stars Guide For Health, Fitness, Fashion and Lifestyle
MEN'S HEALTH would have to be my favourite fitness magazine. The magazine offers articles on health, diet, lifestyle, stress management... (Everything is pretty much covered by this magazine, including fashion and sex life management).

3-0 out of 5 stars It's What Men Like to Read
Men's Journal is a decent magazine full of varied topics of interest to men. This magazine covers areas like sports, adventure travel, fashion and style, cars and trucks, career issues, etc. This publication directs all of its articles toward men, with an emphasis on what is most appealing to males throughout a typical week in their lives.

One thing about Men's Journal that is a little different from other men's magazines is that it doesn't flaunt women to sell its issues. In fact, there are practically no pictures of women at all in this publication- something that will be considered an asset to some, and a liability to others. This magazine refuses to play the female card and instead focuses its articles on topics that men like to read about.

Men's Journal is often obsessed with lists, and I think this is especially true in the last few years. Take a look at the cover of most issues and you will see a large, boldface advertisement for some sort of list. In one issue, it might be a ranking of the best cities for entry level jobs. In another issue, it might be a listing of the best places for young entrepreneurs. Whatever it might be, Men's Journal seems to have an infatuation with lists, probably because men like lists and it helps increase sales.

This magazine can be counted on to produce some fairly good reading, but I must warn that many of the articles are a little too simplistic, with little emphasis on intellectualism. Even the articles about politics and business are often riddled with obvious statements that most anyone would know. But overall, I still think Men's Journal is a good magazine. It is varied enough that most anyone will find something interesting to read and the price is very low.

5-0 out of 5 stars Longtime Reader and Subscriber
I've been reading Men's Journal since the first issue. I've always enjoyed its mix of content. MJ interviews a wide range of interesting individuals. Over the years I've incorporated some of the workout tips from MJ's fitness pages into my workout routine. I especially enjoy reading the product reviews. The travel recommendations are always well written, if not sometimes beyond the budget of most readers (myself included!). Overall, Men's Journal offers a great mix of well written content.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting
The main articles are pretty interesting.I wish the rest of the articles would have more detail though.I like this magazine, it covers many subjects and is fun to read.I think it has more room to grow covering many more guys stuff like home repair and hunting.I look forward to continuing with my subscription. ... Editorial Review

The "GQ look" is synonymous with classic cool and sophistication, and despite a recent outburst of trendy magazines (think Maxim and FHM) vying for the attention of young professional males, the steeped-in-tradition monthly GQ carries on without missing a beat. Yes, there's more décolletage gracing the cover than there used to be, but GQ continues to supply enough cultural commentary, celebrity profiles, features, and style guides to keep the modern man in touch with what's going on in the world from month to month.

GQ's ideal reader is probably one who actually might be able to afford any of the high-end suits, shoes, and watches featured among the countless ads packed between the covers. Though the average reader might enjoy scanning a fashion spread about steakhouses entitled "How to Dress for a Porterhouse" and reading articles like "50 Ways to Blow Your Bonus," it's unlikely that such folly holds much practical advice. Literary editor Walter Kirn keeps short fiction on display, and Alan Richman's writing on food and dining out is always entertaining, even when he comes across as borderline cranky. Two regular Q&A features, "The Style Guy" and "Dr. Sooth," run the gamut from when it's appropriate to wear a straw hat to problems in the bedroom.

2-0 out of 5 stars Lost it's way, another also ran.
I first subscribed to GQ when it was still a quarterly...an issue only every 3 months.Back then it was primarily a men's fashion magazine. It was sophisticated, useful and classy filled with clothing men could actually wear and practical grooming tips, trends and style.I suppose in many ways it resembled a Ralph Lauren print ad. Now fashion is relegated to a few pages in the back of the magazine with men wearing things they seem to have found at a local flea market.Nothing seems to fit properly, patterns - plaids - stripes...anything goes.It resembles homeless couture.Odds and ends that nobody should actually wear.Sure the world has changed. But fashion, good taste, and quality are timeless despite tweaking and contemporary preferences. The editors may feel that grunge, hopeless edginess for it's own sake and adolescent sloppiness sell issues. But they might be surprised that there's a huge pent up demand for sophistication and real style, both formal and relaxed.I hope someone else picks up the torch.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Magazine For Men Of Class
If you're tired of seeing the baggy jeans, XXXL T-shirts, Nike sneakers, and trashy photos that degrade women then GQ is up your alley. The quintessential read for the sophisticated man, GQ never fails to impress me with their class for the everyday man.The magazine includes columns about news, entertainment, high class (not always meaning expensive, but suitably fit) fashion, and even features ficitonal stories from both up and coming to well established authors. If your a person who wants to dress and act like an all around well put together man, then GQ is the perfect read for you.

2-0 out of 5 stars Actually about 2 1/2 stars
The style in this magazine is incredible; it's expensive and very fashionable, with the occasional cheap item to cater to the peasant reader (i.e., everyone).

That said, the magazine is rife with flaws.Snobbish east-coast writing, awful music that is lauded for no reason other than its anonymity, still worse book reviews of Norman Mailer-style authors, shrill articles by naive hacks, and so on.

The clothes are great, but buy with caution. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The Mens Room
Esquire magazine covers a wide range of subjects for the modern male in today's America. It's much more sophisticated then other mens fare, like Maxim, Stuff and Playboy--not that there's anything wrong with those publications mind you. Esquire has no problem profiling a beautiful leading lady every now and then, it just does so much less in your face or obvious. I have also found that the stories are much more in depth. It also is a good place to read solid fiction from time to time-from some of today's popular writers. Politics Entertaiment, World Events, Sports and Fashion are all given their due. But at the same time it also has enough room for the fluff stuff as well.

Rcommended read and well worth the cost.

3-0 out of 5 stars Better than the competition
I use to enjoy Playboy, yet it has devolved into another typical guy mag (i.e. FHM). I gave Esquire a shot given the positive reviews & exceptional price. While it's not bad, on average I have found the magazine mediocre. Some issues are better than others, sometimes there is interesting commentary, interviews, stories, etc. Unfortunately, there seems to be a fair bit of the fluff that you also find in the other mags as well. In addition, much of the writing is generally a bit weak IMHO. Overall it's not bad; although, I gave an extra star for the price. Worth a look for 8$.

5-0 out of 5 stars What Men Need to Know
This is the ultimate magazine for sophisticated men.
    =
It deals with every issue of concern to masters of the
Universe -- money, clothes, cars, life-style, and of
course, women. The only thing is that this magazine
handles these topics in a much more elegant manner than
    Maxim, Playboy, GQ, what-have-you.

For example, there have been tremendously enlightening
articles about cutting edge books, music, even a vocal
instruction cd called "Voice Lessons to Go" and a sex
instruction dvd which was awesome called "New Sex Now"
have been brought to my attention through this
    excellent monthly.

    =
I read this magazine carefully, especially the annual
lists of things men need to know about. It's not something
to read on the subway -- rather, take it to the cabin
in the country and ponder every word in your favorite
    chair with a single-malt. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT MAGAZINE. I HIGHLY RECOMMNED IT.!
THIS IS A GREAT MAGAZINE. IT HAS JUST ENOUGH OF ALL THING S THAT I LIKE AND I LOOK FORWARD TO IT EVERY MONTH. KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON.

1-0 out of 5 stars Exasperated, Failed Unsubscriber
Yes, COMPLEX Magazine is cheap. That about says it all. It's a sorry rag that preys upon the insecurities of every teen and twenty-something out there who, sadly, is rich enough to buy the clothes and other crap the magazine pushes so they can look poor.Yes, I realize this has become the cultural norm of the MTV-Y Generation, but it is still quite pathetic. My GREATEST complaint is that I never asked for this magazine, never subscribed to it, never paid one cent for it, and yet it won't stop showing up in my mailbox!I've tried to "unsubscribe" (which is funny, given that I never "subscribed" to it in the first place) by email and by phone but I can't get them to stop.If anyone else has had any luck ridding themselves of this magazine, please let us know, as I'm sure I'm not the only victim.

5-0 out of 5 stars NEXT LEVEL
Complex is the wave of the future! It's like a pop culture mag with a hip-hop sensibility -- and a great product guide.I think it's really enjoyable to read and more closely reflects my actual lifestyle than any other mag I've seen.

What I like the most about it is that it doesn't take anything too seriously. It doesn't put Hip-Hop on a pedestal and it covers a much broader range of topics than Vibe, The Source or XXL. It has a great sesne of humor and surprisingly sophisticated tone of voice.

That said, there is a lot of advertising and the occasional piece of garbage in there. But I think it's pretty new -- and I would recommend it to any of my friends. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Promoting another Racist
Not again, Details Mag has another Racist thing going again, this time they are promoting Mark Wahlberg, who was arrested for beating and assaulting Asian people. What is up with Details magazine???. Promoting racist ideasmakes stupid people like Mark Wahlberg do stupid things. It adds up to tax payers' money, we the smart people have to keep losers like Mark Wahlberg in jail. Details sucks ass. Read something else people! The magazine has been discounted so much-it means the magazine is bad, the publisher is trying to get more readers to read this junk. They lost customers.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Magazine I've Ever Read
This is the best magazine ive ever read. I read it almost every night before I go to sleep and I have really enjoyed it since the very first issue! I find the (sometimes) hidden Albert Einstein picture on the front very humorous (especially the Swimsuit Issue). I give this magazine a 5 out of 5 stars because this is the greatest and most interesting magazine of them all. Even kids who don't think they like to read would like to read this. Bravo Mental Floss, bravo.

    Sincerely,
    Al

5-0 out of 5 stars Quick Relief!

Its storehouse of quirky information is the best! It's packed with wonderful facts I missed in my first 60 years of reading!Ten minutes of Mental_Floss and I'm ready to go again!Refreshed until the next time I pick it up.Try it!You'll like it.

    2-0 out of 5 stars Mental_Dross...
I bought this mag hoping against hope that it would be a stimulating read.Instead I felt like I was just duped into buying a magazine staffed completely by people suffering ADHD.There was NOTHING in depth.I was completely frustrated...in fact I tossed it across the bedroom up finishing! If you are looking for REAL mental stimulation, try WQ or similar DEEP mags.

I do give it two stars because it certainly would seem to entertain and cater to most of our culture on speed. So if you are like most popular culture, you will probably like it. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Lots of Flash, No Bang.
Wired purports to be a cutting edge high tech magazine. In fact, it is little more than a Nerd's version of People magazine, with a lot of short, unconnected articles purporting to offer inside information from the tech community. It is most likely to be of interest to Gamers (and has lots of ads addressed to that crowd).

The best thing about it is its (expensive) graphics, but that doesn't justify wasting your time or money on it.

1-0 out of 5 stars BEWARE OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION
I got a letter from a collecting agency stating WIRED hired them "to write you as to why payment has not been made as of this letter date." The letter ends in a bold, italicized threat:

"This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose."

I never subscribed to this magazine yet I got this letter. I called the handy number right at the top of the "bill" and I was forwarded to a recording with the following instructions:

    press "1" to make payment
    press "2" if already paid
    press "3" never received subscription
    press "4" never renewed subsciption
    press "5" never ordered subscription

I pressed 5, and that was that. Talk about a low way to get subscribers. This is bottom feeding. Magazines used to offer you incentives. Now they threaten to louse up your credit rating.

Anyway, I am writing this to inform and warn existing and future subscribers about this magazine. Based on the options given above, not only "non-subscribers" like me get a letter from a collecting agency to subscribe to this magazine, but also existing subscribers who did not renew their subscriptions.

I think this is taking guerilla marketing a bit too far - not only are you being billed for something you didn't order, but they're skipping right over you and sending your name directly to a collection agency.

2-0 out of 5 stars The Dark Side Of Wired
I was a Wired subscriber for 2 years but later on decided not to continue with the subscription. I wish it was that easy! They sent me a couple issues after the subscription ended (without any approval!) and then started to bomb with those endless mail reminders like "we still didn't get your payment, please don't forget" and "we want you not to miss any of our great issues". Sure thing, I ignored them but now they forwarded my info to some collecting agency which threatens me and asks to pay the subscriprion fee plus late fees plus collection fees.

The magazine itself is okay though. I quite understand this review is basically not what people write about things but anyway. I just wanted to address this information to whoever might be interested in it. ... Read more
