5-0 out of 5 stars The examples are great
RSM is a magazine that keeps me updated on innovations in the stamping genre. The instructions are easy to follow, and the examples are eye-catching and great to browse.
The reviews of the rubber stamping websites are very informative, as are the reviews of new products and publications.Plus, their website has links to their advertisers, so I can leave my magazine in my reading area, and still browse the links from my computer!

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have for rubber stamp fanatics
This is the oldest art rubber stamp magazine still publishing (National Stampagraphic went under a few years ago) and it doesn't show it's age. For the latest news on various techniques, conventions, stamps and accessories, this is the place that the majority of rubber stampers (if not all) turn to for advice.

That's because in addition to rubber stamp art, there are profiles of stampers, examples of mixed media (collage, copier) art and catalog reviews of stamp companies, There's a convention list. There's an area where you can post mail art calls as well as an area to request pen pals or find various rubber stamp essentials.

And for the vast majority of rubber stampers, this _is_ an essential magazine. If you're interested in rubber stamp art, this magazine is the best place to start on the inky trail. Buy this subscription and be prepared to forget about dinner when the magazine is delivered - it's that absorbing.

5-0 out of 5 stars A comprehensive resource for ALL rubber stamp interests
This magazine is a real treasure -- wide-ranging in interests (like collage, greeting cards, mail art, book arts, fabric stamping and how-to projects) and authoritative. Good illustrations and especially well written, too, a real change from other publications for stamp artists.
Reviews of new products, catalogs and books are fair and MOST welcome!
As a newer reader this past year, I've been VERY pleased with the magazine's consistent excellence. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I agree! Go to the source!
Belle Armoire is an amazing magazine for people interested in creating or simply enjoying one of kind accessories and embellished clothing that are true works of art. Every issue is a treat...but I agree...I've also contact Amazon about the pricing...go to www.stampington.com and pay half.

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspiring but don't buy it from Amazon!
This is one of the best wearable arts magazines around. Inspiring and full of new techniques that are well described and photographed. However the price that Amazon charges is nearly *twice* the charge at the publisher's website. Go there to order it. I've tried numerous times to point out the discrepancy, but they ignore me completely.

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspiration and Challenge
Belle Armoire means "beautiful wardrobe" and every issue delivers on this promise to inspire you to create a beautiful wardrobe for yourself or someone you love.

Projects range from silk painting to sewing to beading...the embellishment possibilities are endless. Any given issue may have an interview with a clothing designer or a fashion artist. The Salon pages - comprised of the readers' work - are packed with inspiration plus there are always short instructions for the projects on later pages.

The photography is cutting edge with a high fashion look. The magazine is printed on very nice, glossy paper with a rigid glued binding - NO STAPLES here! Advertising is discreet and does not attempt to overwhelm the focus of the magazine.

I have been reading and collecting Belle Armoire from the first issue and it always impresses me with its range and depth of vision. I always come away with new ideas. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars History of needlework in your own hands
I love this magazine and look forward to every issue. The focus is the history of all needlework crafts, from embroidery to knitting to crochet, stumpwork, you name it. The articles are well-researched and there is usually a project to make to test a technique. Sometimes these projects are a bit small, but they always make an attractive article. Once they had a pincushion contest, and the entries were inspiring. I was almost ready to make a crocheted purple tomato with a lovely lampworked bead on top. If you love history or vintage crafts, this is a great magazine to read.

5-0 out of 5 stars The very best
This magazine is absolutely the finest in the needlework and related handwork fields. As a member of the Embroiderers' Guild of America (and a beginning handweaver), Piecework is my favorite magazine. Not only is the handwork of other cultural traditions honored and explored in depth, the history of these traditions (including our own) are expounded upon by experts in the field. Also included are beautiful projects to make which are related to the articles in each issue.I highly recommend Piecework to anyone with an interest in any aspect of fine needlework. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars "Lapidary Review" - What a total misnomer!!
I expected this magazine to cover articles related to rocks, cabochons, semi precious stones etc.I have just received my second issue. At least 50% of the 95 pages are simply advertising - which I think is, to put it mildly, far too much. Their features this month are: "Dreaming in Metal," "Improving you Opal cutting," "2004 AGTA Spectrum Awards."The Step by Step projects include: "Forged hinged bracelet." "Ancient Vessel" - using glass, foil, and lampworking skills to create this "fun" pendant!!" , and how to make a pair of bell earrings using PMC paper!!

Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines lapidary as:"a) sculptured in or engraved on stone; b: of or relating to precious stones or the art of cutting them; c) having elegance and precision." This review deals with nothing even close to this definition.I wish I could cancel my subscription, but there is no place on their website where one can do this.

3-0 out of 5 stars gone downhill
This used to be a great magazine but in the past year they have changed format, and have cut their articles by a third. The projects they go over have become less challenging, more for crafters then for jewelers. A third to half the magazine is advertisements, and they are always, the same.

4-0 out of 5 stars Top of the line...
Lapidary Journal Magazine is #1 in my book as far as a magazine geared for people in the jewelry field. Covers just about all aspects from creating to selling and even has project plans! Has a lot of great advertisers if you are just starting out as a hobby jewelry maker. This magazine will help you locate just about anything jewelry related you are searching for. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars More than just a magazine
Woman's Day has the feel of a community with its intensely personal warmth. From parenting advice, health, cooking, crafts and homemaking and more, it bonds its target audience together whether you're a single mom, happily married, or even single. I enjoyed this magazine as a teen with my mom and love it even more as an adult. Highly recommend!

4-0 out of 5 stars Useful Articles
Woman's Day is a good resource for women. It covers a variety of topics, including health/beauty, diet/exercise, relationships, children. There are tips for getting organized, recipes, crafts and decorating tips also. There's a Tip A Day Calendar as well as a Day to Day meal planner. It relies heavily on reader's tips which are scattered through the magazine and in the various articles. Each issue tells you how to join the Woman's Day Readers panel to submit tips and maybe win a prize. And even if you don't want to join the Reader's panel, there are plenty of other prizes given away by Woman's Day.

Woman's Day is well worth subscribing to!

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring, Really Boring
....The articles and spreads are not at all remarkable; there's nothing here that will blow your mind. The projects are fun but they don't look good at all.The recipes are ok but nothing you couldn't find in any cookbook.I understand that for a very low price you get 17 issues but if you actually hold an individual issue, it's incredibly thin.I noticed that even the binding is bigger than the amount of paper!.... Woman's Day is the school marm of the bunch. ... Read more
