5-0 out of 5 stars a great magazine features something u want
i have read this i-D for just 1 year!
5-0 out of 5 stars caution: this is *not* "I.D.", the industrial design mag
i-D magazine is not the same I.D. magazine. the former is the magazine described on this page, a fashion magazine. the latter is short for Industrial Design magazine, which is what the misplaced product description above describes.

1-0 out of 5 stars The Editor needs more experience
From what i have found .. the editor needs more experience.
5-0 out of 5 stars one of my favorites
This is one of my favorite quilting magazines, especially (but not only) for beginners. There is almost always something that I want to make in each issue, which isn't the case with most of the quilting magazines I pick up.I love the alternate design/color schemes for each project.Fons & Porter's is another good choice.

2-0 out of 5 stars So-So
I subscribed to American Patchwork Quilting magazine for over a year, and to be honest I found it mediocre. The projects seem to be designed for people with 'high end' sewing machines and there are way too much appliqu projects, advertisements, and modern-looking quilting projects.

1-0 out of 5 stars Amazon is too quick
Sorry, I have not yet received my 1st issue of the magazine - it will be another month or so before it comes.
1-0 out of 5 stars Just don't deal with customer service
After subscribing to Quilters Newsletter for 14 years (!) I suspended my subscription for a year while we traveled in Europe for a year. When I tried to resume my subscription they told me my subscription had been cancelled for "non-payment" even though my subscription was paid up through 2007. I was hung up on twice, by a "supervisor" once.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great ideas for all levels
From the first time I picked this magazine up until now, I have been impressed with it.This magazine, unlike others, has great articles about quilters, techniques, fabrics, and everything else you can imagine that has anything to do with quilting. This magazine also showcases, in every issue, different quilting events that take place around the world. As a quilter, I've found that it is really great to see what other quilters have done to fabric. When it comes to the designs within the magazine, what I like best is that there are always a great variety of designs and techniques. Some magazines focus on the beginner level and throw in a couple of intermediate designs from time to time.I keep all of my magazines to use in the future, it is always my hope that I will, in the future, no longer be a beginner.I want those more challenging designs available to me--QNM does just this. 5-0 out of 5 stars sharpen your skills
A great feature of this magazine is that each issue highlights a specific sewing skill (fitting pants properly, making buttonholes well, etc.) and provides in-depth instruction with illustrations and photos to help you build your skills.I'm a big fan of efforts to keep this art and trade going over the generations. When Mom's not available to guide me by phone, the magazine can fill in for her.

5-0 out of 5 stars I havent received my order yet, but...
This magazine is amazing! I absolutely love it, it has a ton of awesome tips with every issue. I cant wait until I receive my first issue, and if I don't soon, I love it so much that I'm going to go by it off the newsstand. The anticipation is killing me!

2-0 out of 5 stars Changed format/contents
I have always enjoyed every issue of Threads in the past. The new format / contents does not appeal to me.Threads is now a beginner sewing magazine like many others on the market.Thread's was once a great magazine, the only one on the market for the intermediate and advanced sewers. The projects were wonderful and I and other's I know kept every single issue. Not now, there isn't really much in Thread's for the wearable art/advanced sewer.I will really miss the couture finishing techniqes and other articles with new ideas. These articles were much more detailed than any book.Because of this detail a sewer with some experience could use these articles to become an advanced sewer more quickly than buying many books. I only gave the 2 star's because it is a nice beginner magazine. If you are new to sewing this is a good magazine, but the more advanced sewer's should pass this one up.

4-0 out of 5 stars not the Threads magazine of the past
I used to dream about subscribing to Threads and drool over them in the library, but the new format beginning in Fall 2005 is disappointing. They have added many more articles of interest to very new sewers such as how to choose the correct needle for a fabric. This basic info is readily available in many basic sewing books and it is not why I renewed to Threads for another 3 years. This magazine once showed cutting edge techniques and lots of projects that intermediate and advanced sewers could savor. As a beginning sewer I used to dream about conquering the exciting projects in Threads. Now, they have watered it down to appeal to less skilled people at the expense of the projects and information that made it stand out from other sewing magazines. This is still a "good" magazine, but no longer excellent.I wish that I could get back my money for the next 3 years and spend it on fabric. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Anna : Burda Knitting & Needlecrafts - English Ed
Knitters take note:I purchased what was titled as "Anna:Burda Knitting & Needlecrafts-English Ed".What arrived was "Anna Needlework and Crafts," which contains very little knitting.
5-0 out of 5 stars Anna Needlework magazine
I've collected this magazine for many years. the content is excellant with many projects for many different levels of experience. I also liked seeing how women of Europe and the U.K. decorate their homes during the different seasons and holidays. Anna magazine is deliteful for both the seasoned needlewoman or the absolute beginer. It is just so much fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have
Absolutely wonderful magazine. I count the days until every new issue. It offes beautiful patterns for a variety of needlework styles. In every issue it always has knitting section, a couse that introduces you to a new type of needlework (or refreshes you in one that you already tried), a monthly picture in cross stitch (a sampler type, this year it is "the trades"). 2-0 out of 5 stars Something has happened...
I once subscribed to this magazine for several years through regular mail and loved it, but got extremely frustrated after switching to the E-mail subscription...regular mail just took too long (many deadlines passed by the time it got there) and the E-mail subscription was cheaper. But on E-mail, issues did not come through regularly - I have absolutely no problem with any other on-line services (and never did - I do not have a kick-back/kick-out function under my E-mail system).Sometimes I had to contact them and it would come through quickly, other times it just did not make it...
5-0 out of 5 stars Building your art resume? Here's a terrific resource.
This is my favorite - most helpful - resource for finding out about reputable art shows, grants, calls for art proposals, artist residencies, and more. And yes, there are even articles on marketing and promoting your artwork.
1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware!
As a long time subscriber to this magazine, I have enjoyed and used it quite a bit. However, since changing to an on-line subscription this year, I have not received the past few issues. After repeatedly contacting them I finally was told they were 'busy' since the company is being sold. I requested that my subscription be changed back to regular mail - no response. Neither have I received any issues. Non-responsive with a bad customer attitude. Too bad - this was once a good thing. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Challenging
The magazine is filled with yummy patterns for beautiful pieces. The instructions are very easy to follow.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bead up on the latest
Beadwork magazine as with most magazines on a particular skill or art gives you every thing you expect. Magazines can not replace books for in-depth and specialties skills that are targeted by a particular beader. However they are broader and more contemporary. There are projects for novice and expert alike using traditional materials and the latest in bead technology.
3-0 out of 5 stars Beadwork magazine
This magazine is good but only average to people who want to use the projects most of the projects are very out there so if that's your thing you will love it.For the average beader it is NOT worth the cover price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cloth Paper Scissors THE BETST
Cloth Paper Scissors is without a doubt the BEST magazine out there for mixed media artists. The magazine articles are beautifully done; lots of "how-to's"; easy to understand directions and dynamite photos.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Mag, But The Price Here Is Ridiculous
My wife loves this magazine, so I thought I'd buy her a subscription for her birthday. The price here at Amazon (as of May 17, 2005) is nearly 60% above the subscription price offered on the pull-out cards in the magazine.

3-0 out of 5 stars Make that 3 and a half stars
As a library administrator I get to see and read an awful lot of woodworking books and magazines. American Woodworker was one of the first two woodworking magazines I read as a beginner (Wood was the other). Its now 11 years later and I still subscribe to Wood but only read American Woodworker at the library or while browsing at Borders.I admit that this magazine has had some great projects in it, but just not as many per issue as Wood or Popular Woodworking.I also regularly read Fine Woodworking, Workbench, and Woodworkers Journal and I have to say that against all of those others I have mentioned, American Woodworker comes in last.
2-0 out of 5 stars There are better ones
If you want a great all-purpose woodworking magazine go with Fine Woodworking or Popular Woodworking. If you want all sorts of project plans get Wood.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great for ideas
I looked over most of the wood working magazines and this one seemed to have the most hands on information. If you get just one wood working magazine this is the one to get.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Of Excellent Quality
I have kept editions from 1985; they are still in excellent condition.Having not revisited them for many years, I am blown away by the quality of the paper, the photography, the color, and the articles inside.I was so happy when I found out that FMR is still being made and available in the U.S.

5-0 out of 5 stars Art work unto itself
I was introduced to this magazine by a friend who had purchased old copies at a flea market. The paper and printing is of the highest quality and stood the test of time. Copies from 1990 were magnificent. The interior photographs of the art works were amazing and showed incredible detail. And the articles were very well written. Yes, you are introduced to artists and works lesser known to us in America, which is only our loss. I was so happy to find it available at Amazon. It is truly a work of art unto itself.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't call yourself an art enthusiast until you subscribe
This is a stunning art publication for mainstream readers and art afficianados alike. Its quality and the detail are unmatched. It will be wildly fascinating to those that find pleasure in beauty ---- not just in the famous classics ---- but those artists that never quite made it into the spotlight. Not avilable on newsstands.(I can't believe I lived this long without discovering it.)Kudos to this publisher with such fine, signature work in an age of media consolidation. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Magazine for All Dancers!
I think this magazine is perfect for anyone who is serious about dance. It covers a lot of different types of dance like Ballet, Jazz, and Hip hop.The "advice for dancers" column is very helpful and the advertisements (for dance shoes, workshops, auditions, equipment, etc.) are useful rather than annoying. Therefore, I would recommend this magazine to anyone who loves to dance.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE DANCE MAG!
Every Dancer would love Dance Magazine. The stories are intresting and cober all aspects of diffrent types pf dance. And the information given really helps dancers stay healthy and strong! I love Dance Magazine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't believe no one has reviewed this magazine!

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
As a practicing photographer and not a collector, I've been very disappointed with B&W on the few occasions it's crossed my desk (I've never had a subscription, so I'm basing this on just the few issues I've seen).
5-0 out of 5 stars B&W Best photo Magazine
This is by far the best photo magazine I have seen in my 40 years of being a photographer.(and I subscribe to half a dozen).
5-0 out of 5 stars nice
This past summer I picked up two issues of this magazine and they sat on my shelf for a few months before I finally got around to reading them. I was impressed. The quality of this magazine is higher than any other photographic magazine I've seen. The image quality, the paper, all top notch. This is a fine arts magazine and doesn't (at least from what I saw) spend time with articles about the technical side of the art. Rather, it focuses on individual artists and shows samples of their work. There are more great photographs in here than in any other photo magazine I've read. I intend on subscribing. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A showcase for design ideas...
Somerset Magazine is the most outstanding publication available for art and crafts, especially for those who are looking for innovative design ideas and quality materials. Everything featured in the magazine is geared towards the reader: artist interviews, seasonal ideas and new products as they reach the market, including inks, dyes, metals, tools and papers. Somerset is extremely user-friendly, each article geared towards accessibility and ease of application. The featured artists speak about their design inspirations, choice of materials and application; they include samples of their work, from hand-lettering to clay, stamping and other eclectic forms of artwork.
5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Magazine
I have subscribed to this magazine since it first became available and have watched it constantly evolve, getting better all the time.I have also given gift subscriptions to people who do not even do any kind of art, crafts, etc.Its beauty can be appreciated by all.
