It's an OK little magazine
I haven't found tons of stuff I want to make in it, though, and a some of the patterns that are published in this magazine, I've found for free on the net or as give-aways from yarn & thread companies!So...I don't think I'll subscribe again, but it was a nice little mag to get in the mail.

Great magazine except
they could include more clothing patterns that are easy to follow.Most of the projects are for children's toys and doily's.For a prolific crocheter I suppose it's best to develop your own patterns because you will quickly get bored with the scant clothing items included in the magazine. Lots of variety in a small magazine.
This little magazine is full of a variety of beautiful, charming and useful patterns from seasonal decorations, doilies and afghans to very pretty clothing and accessories.The patterns don't employ lots of special stitches so it's easy going for just about anyone. Having checked out nearly every crochet magazine currently offered, I'd say this is well worth the subscription price for all but those who want only specialty and/or really challenging projects. ... Magazine for Advertising?
If you are looking for advertising or doing a research on advertising, Lapidary Journal is for you.I had it and was very disappointed.

"Lapidary Review" - What a total misnomer!!
I expected this magazine to cover articles related to rocks, cabochons, semi precious stones etc.I have just received my second issue.At least 50% of the 95 pages are simply advertising - which I think is, to put it mildly, far too much. Their features this month are: "Dreaming in Metal," "Improving you Opal cutting," "2004 AGTA Spectrum Awards."The Step by Step projects include: "Forged hinged bracelet." "Ancient Vessel" - using glass, foil, and lampworking skills to create this "fun" pendant!!" , and how to make a pair of bell earrings using PMC paper!! gone downhill
This used to be a great magazine but in the past year they have changed format, and have cut their articles by a third. The projects they go over have become less challenging, more for crafters then for jewelers. A third to half the magazine is advertisements, and they are always, the same. ... Read more

The examples are great
RSM is a magazine that keeps me updated on innovations in the stamping genre.The instructions are easy to follow, and the examples are eye-catching and great to browse. Must have for rubber stamp fanatics
This is the oldest art rubber stamp magazine still publishing (National Stampagraphic went under a few years ago) and it doesn't show it's age. For the latest news on various techniques, conventions, stamps and accessories, this is the place that the majority of rubber stampers (if not all) turn to for advice. A comprehensive resource for ALL rubber stamp interests
This magazine is a real treasure -- wide-ranging in interests (like collage, greeting cards, mail art, book arts, fabric stamping and how-to projects) and authoritative. Good illustrations and especially well written, too, a real change from other publications for stamp artists.Read more

I have subscribed to many quilting magazines and have found this one to be among the best. The articles include many interesting topics from historical quilts to trendy techniques, and often lessons from the "pros".
Just don't deal with customer service
After subscribing to Quilters World since 2001, I suspended my subscription for a year while we traveled in Europe. When I tried to resume my subscription they told me my subscription would be resumed through 2007 even though my subscription (verified on my magazine's label) was until 2011.
Quick & Easy Quilting has now become Quilter's World
I liked Quick and Easy Quilting because I don't have much time and need "quick and easy" quilt ideas.Quilter's World arrived as the replacement to this magazine and it is much larger in size and has a more "upscale" feel to it (ala' Threads' magazine).Whereas the old magazine had a "working class" feel to it, this new magazine aspires to "middle class" or beyond.However, there still are quick and easy quilt ideas in the magazine, you just have to look a little farther for them.There are very good templates easy to rip out or photocopy. So the magazine is worth it for that.However, I must add that .. price is not the best.My card that came with the magazine offers ..for 1 year (6 issues)--offer expires 2-28-03. ... Read more

Wish I could give it -1 star
I don't think there is anything that I could add to the comments the other beaders have left above regarding this magazine.They NEVER responded to any concerns I had and the magazine itself is not nearly the level expected in a so-called "professional" publication.Check out "Beadwork" or "Bead and Button" magazines instead.They cost more, but are far superior publications.

Not worth the cost of an issue
This magazine suffers from many problems: poor editing, incomplete and incomprehensible instructions, failure to respond to concerns and questions from their subscribers - just to name a few.There are several other magazines that fill this area of interest so much better, Bead and Button and Beadwork for two.Stay away from the hassle here. Try the other quality & professionally produced magazines, you'll be glad you did.

Jewelry Crafts Magazine
And one star is really too much for this magazine. I surely agree with Amybeader about this magazine, I got the first issue when it came out in the early 1990's and fell in love with it, but I have watched it lose its alure in the last few years, but Istubornly held on untill this year -2003 in hopes the editors would wake up and and see how far down they were sliding and get it together and put out something better,but they haven't. and I too didn't renew my sub.this time, as I become so frustrated with their "instuction" for a project that would make me want to scream.I thought I was the only one that was having a problem with the magazine and I appreciate amybeader for telling it like it is.They even quite publishing letters from thier readers which I never saw a magazine do before,guess other readers felt like I did too. There are much better magazine out there that make you feel good about your talents - Expression is one of the best and they offer a wide range of jewelry and clay designs along with other projects that open your world up and inspire you to incorporate other objects and media into your designs that you wouldn't normally think about mixing together. Two other new mag. are Polymer Cafe and Bead Style .All three of these new magazine are worth their weight in gold and jewels.The newbead Style is published by Bead and Button magazine and is great for beginers and advanced jewelry designers and beaders. They offer projects that can easly be achived.Well, thanks for reading this and much thanks again to amybeader for sharing - as a avid beader and jewelry designer myself,it is always hard for me to see a magazine go down, its like losing a close friend, but when all one gets from reading a magazine is frustion then it is time to let go and move on as hard as that can be- Life is too short and frustrating every day - we need inspriation and projects that make us smile and feel good about pur talents and encorage us to try new things.I do know when one door is closed there will be a bigger window opened with a much more beautiful view. ... Great Ideas!
This magazine is wonderful because it shows a lot of different ideas from a lot of different scrapbookers.It also shows both 8" x 11" and 12" x 12" formats which is great because I've seen a lot of magazines that just features 12 x 12.It also has a lot of ads, which keeps you knowledgable about the new tools of the industry.It's a great magazine that you will want to read cover to cover...and then read it again!

Awesome reference and idea magazine
This is my favorite magazine and I have looked at several different ones.It has great ideas and really has improved over the last year or so.They have great tips and ideas for beginners to the more experienced.I really like the new pull out sections they added and the new computer corner ideas.You will not be disappointed with this one!!They are they kind of magazine you keep for ideas and inspiration for years to come.Enjoy -- I do!!

Need to update their style
This magazine is stuck in the 1980's - the style of most of the projects looks like stuff my grandmother would like (pictures of fruit and flowers).They rarely (although it DOES happen occasionaly - ie: Blackbird Designs was in there last year, with a great project) include the newer artists or styles.The exception is the yearly JCS Ornaments special edition - that is a must have, but I don't know if it is part of the yearly subscription.Most of the projects are still on aida, and most of them, again, are very outdated in style.I'd like to see more historical projects, more samplers, and more updated projects on linen before I will buy this magazine again. ...
