another Heartland surprise
A little over two years ago I moved from an exotic, beautiful, international location to take a superb job in what I took to be the boring city of Indianapolis. Friends and strangers routinely asked 'What were you *smoking*?' or some variant of that question.

This magazine is elegant.I particularly enjoyed a recent issue which covered downtown living.I thought the information was very well presented and the property reviews were informative.In addition, this issue contained lots of great restaurant reviews. Perfect!
In Britain is the official magazine of VisitBritain, the authority on British tourism.The articles and features are always interesting and personal without sacrificing accuracy. Admission prices, opening times, directions, and contact information are given at the end of each article.And the picture are gorgeous.I only wish this magazine was monthly!

Always something interesting to read, good travel reference
I've subscribed to it for about 8 years now and in most issues find at least one interesting thing to see or do, place to go or stay, lots of good material even in the advertisements. GREAT! IF YOU'RE LOOKIN' FOR THE PSEUDO-WEST
I recall the first issue that I ever saw of COWBOYS & INDIANS magazine.Tom Selleck graced the cover, touting a story about Selleck and his newest western, CROSSFIRE TRAIL.The story was marvelous.Shortly after buying this copy from a newsstand I subscribed.

Cowboys & Indians Magazine is one of the most enjoyable reads in magazine publishing.Each issue I look forward to escaping to the various destinations, events, and reading the articles regarding art and works of artisans.The beautiful photography and layout of the magazine lets you dream about the places you would like to be and the people / personalities you would like to meet.I would recommend this magazine to anyone who enjoys any aspect of Western Lifestyle.Read more

Should be called "Killing Animals in Colorado"
I bought a subscription to this magazine out of excitement at our upcoming relocation to the Denver area.I was hoping I would get a magazine that celebrated all of CO's natural gifts thru essays and photography etc.
Beautifully Illustrated & Informative
I really enjoy this magazine very much!The photographs are simply amazing, the articles are interesting & very well put together.It's nice to be able to see parts of Colorado in my own livingroom, & be able to decide where I'd like to venture to, rather than make a blind trip somewhere & be disappointed.The publisher also gives you the option of a free Hunting or Fishing guide to accompany your subscription. Wonderful information
I discovered this magazine a few months ago, thanks to a friend.It is wonderful!I've lived in Florida for 20 years, and they constantly let me know about fun places I've never even heard of, not to mention all the great history stories.I honestly never knew Florida could be so interesting, once you get past the stuff everyone knows about.

This is a great travel magazine for Florida.It has wonderful pictures and stories. I have learned much about places in Florida that I didn't even know existed and I have lived in Florida for over forty years!The magazine has inspired me to travel the state on the weekends and I have been to the most wonderful places!I have not been disappointed once!

I live in Dallas, TX, and I have bought this magazine a few times and my wife has bought it several times. It is a local magazine with an appealing cover and it contains local "celebrity gossip". This is what has prompted us to buy it (shame on us). However, you shall not judge a magazine by its cover page, and from now on we will not buy this magazine again.

Useless facts and $1700 lamps...Gross.
I ordered it because they sent me a subscription card for $12...luckily that is all I paid.You might appreciate this magazine if you are in your forties, have 5 children, are a doctor or lawyer, and thrive on statistics.Every issue focuses on comparing us to other cities, primarily New York, and is a general bore.There is nothing one could actually utilize, or would want to, in the entertainment/restaurant section.I've never been so eager for a subscription to end.I can't believe Amazon suggests buying this along with Time Out Chicago, who I've turned to for real information, colorful interviews, and articles that honestly do feel like Chicago does.Yuck...all the focus on rich people makes me want to puke.Why don't they count up some statistics on how many Chicagoans actually fit your sickeningly rich profile?5 percent?Their March issue explaining that a D-I-N-K couple making a combined $120,000 a year struggles just as much as a single mother making $15,000 based on their choices really tops it off:this magazine is out of touch.
Like New York Magazine, not the New Yorker
Like so many magazines that have decided to pursue the relatively affluent core of their subscription, Chicago magazine is great if you want to read a magazine to figure out what to buy.It's got lots of articles that are relevant to you if you're upwardly mobile, either live in the suburbs or have a car to get there, and are interested in the latest trends in entertainment and shopping.

The magazine hit a new low recently but is in lockstep with the media bias demomstrated so wonderfully by the Chicago Tribune.Read more

Great For Travelers And Locals Alike
"Texas Highways" is a great magazine for folks interested in the great state of Texas.It covers the state by regions, much like the Texas Tourism Board's travel brochure, and gives those familiar or unfamiliar with the Lone Star State a nice taste of things big and small that make Texas so unique.Recipes, travel tips, stories on locals and their haunts, music, and fun are all found here.They're all given to the reader in wonderful articles that capture this truly unique state.

conservative cowboys
It was so funny when I read the review about the fellow not reading American Cowboy because of the conservative politics. He would be hard pressed to find a true cowboy who is liberal. I live on a ranch (have for 31 years) and have known MANY real cowboys and not one has had a liberal viewpoint. Some have higher educations too, so one can't blame it on ignorance.Keep up the good work at American Cowboy and keep reporting on the true cowboys and cowgirls.

A handsome, well-done magazine that I won't read again
This is a good-looking magazine that always arrives on time and that never skimps on content. But I'm letting my subscription--which I bought as a way to encounter a distinct culture other than my own--lapse because there's just too much politics here. That is, you CAN say negative, but honest, things about John Wayne and other conservative icons, but not if your ideology blinkers you.
A must read for almost everyone.
This well-written magazine gives readers a realistic view of cowboys and cowgirls today, whether they are ranch owners, ranch hands, or rodeo athletes.The photography is first class.If you have any interest in cowboys and cowgirls, a western lifestyle, or just knowing how people live and react who enjoy this way of living, you will enjoy this magazine. ...
