It's almost like being there...
For those of us who miss being in the center of the universe, reading the Observer is almost like being there. In its pink pages I can read stories about New York's political, arts, society, finance, sex and gossip scene.I can smell the inside of a taxi from my house overlooking the lake in Vermont.

If I had to pick one newspaper that captured the drama of NYC it would be the New York Observer. Unlike any newspaper (the New York Times, the Village Voice) or magazine (New York, Time Out NY) the Observer is always on the inside track when it comes to politics, business, theater, fashion, culture, publishing, the arts, real estate and society. Terrible delivery time
I ordered this magazine December 11th, 2005. It states to wait 8 to 10 weeks for the first issue. It is now March 25th, 2006. No first issue. I called customer service and received an automated response stating 'If you do not receive you first issue by May 20th, 2006, then call back'. FIVE MONTHS AFTER THE ORDER! The magazine is great, which is why I ordered. I just wish I ordered direct, instead of going through Amazon. Hopefully this isn't the procedure for all magazines.

Slow down and enjoy
Obviously it's impossible to capture all of the diversity and wonder of Delaware in 12 issues a year, but Delaware Today comes as close as is humanly possible.In the clutter of the northeast corridor, much of the attention Delaware merits is often snatched up by flashier states--like Maryland.But Delaware is America, through and through, from the working class neighborhoods of Dover to the unique sea-going atmosphere of Delaware Beach.Though I live far away, and have not been back to Delaware for many years, it continues to hold a special place in my heart.Hopefully Delaware Today will gain in popularity, and begin to show people what they're missing when they don't stop along the way to NYC. ... Vermont magazine first draws you in with its luscious cover, which always captures the essence of Vermont. Although Vermont is not the largest state in the union, don't let a trivial fact like that fool you...the magazine boasts a treasure trove of information that substantiates the claim that Vermont is truly a wonderful state. You can find recipes, articles about Vermont towns and their unique culture, advertisements for services throughout the state, and a cornucopia of information for those who live there or (in my case) yearn to live there. Don't pass up this magazine.

The definative "I'm not in Vermont" magazine
Currently living in Seattle, I was born and raised in Vermont, and find Vermont Life to be one of the magazines I pick up when I'm feeling homesick.Produced to appeal to the tourist, it concentrates mostly on the touristy side of Vermont - ski areas, panoramic foliage, maple syrup, and Farmer's Markets feature prominently on its pages.Despite that, its like a nice slab of apple pie with sharp Cabot chedder on the side - a piece of home every month. ...
