3-0 out of 5 stars The Magazine Diva says.......
This magazine is a lot of fun, with simple ideas and easy to follow instructions. It caters to a young family, those with children ages 3 - 11 will benefit the most. My most favorable comment is the attitude Family Fun projects, it is always fun and upbeat.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE this magazine
I bought this magazine as a gift subscription for my sister in law. She raved over it so much I bought it for myself and wow. It is a great magazine. We generally read it cover to cover.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great magazine, worth saving
I never had my own subscription to this magazine. My mother-in-law subscribed and then would send it to me when she was done. I have saved every copy. There are so many great ideas in this magazine. They had one to make a playing card holder out of coffee cans lids. It was great for my 6 and 3 year old for playing UNO, especially when you have a lot of cards to hold. My 13 year old is selling magazines for her school and FamilyFun is one of the magazines available. I am ordering it, I miss reading it since my mother-in-law's subscription ran out. (I was hoping she would send me a subscription for Christmas since she knew how much I enjoyed it.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Zoobooks
My 6 year old son loved this magazine. His eyes would light up whenever the magazine would arrive in the mail. The colorful photographs and fun facts about lots of types of animals made the magazine fun to read for both he and I.

5-0 out of 5 stars Zoobooks is the Encyclopedia of Animals
An easy to read format for the budding animal enthusiast with activities for subscribers online and inside the middle section of the magazine.
5-0 out of 5 stars A treasure to keep
I hope this magazine hasn't changed from when I got it as a child 20 years or so ago, because I dearly loved it then. It's not so much a magazine, with different articles and recurring features, as a vividly illustrated report on a different group of animals each month. (I wore out the binding on my "Alligators and Crocodiles" issue.) The beautiful drawings are both fun to look at and packed with information -- when I was taking biology courses in college I realized my old Zoobooks spreads of, say, "all the parrots of the world" had given me an intuitive grasp of comparative adaptation without my realizing I was learning anything.Be warned -- if you get this for your child, you may have to listen to all of the things she has learned about monkeys for months at a time! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good for 11~13 year olds.
I'm now 15 and I use to read GL. I started reading it when I was about 12 and I hade no problem with it!!!
4-0 out of 5 stars Good For Teens
I'm 13 and I started subscribing to Girls Life when I was just 11. Just to let parents know, even though I subscribed to the magazine at eleven doesn't necessarily mean it's made for that age group. In fact, I found crude language, older fashions and relationship advice in it. Still, I never told my mother because I wanted to continue subscribing. The good part is, if you have an older daughter around 13 and up, I recommend this magazine to you. It's great with the makeup tips and life advice. It also has true life articles that I find inpsiring. If you're still hesitant and feel up to it, go to your local grociery store and check the magazine out yourself.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good..
Girls Life is great to me, but I'm being considerate of all you parents out there. This magazine is not geared for 10-12 year olds like the magazine claims, more for young women in their teens. It's just a normal, old fashioned teen magazine like Seventeen and CosmoGirl!. Now that you know it's relatable to those types of magazines, you know what this magazine is all about. Makeup, clothes, relationships, etc. That's enough to say. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars All Girls Should Read This!
I'm a senior in high school and I started reading New Moon when I was [...]Some reviewers have been writing that this magazine is somehow "innappropriate" for younger girls (because it talks about periods sometimes).I got my period when I was barely out of elementary school, and this magazine helped A LOT, since I was the first of my friends to get it.I can assure any parent who might be concerned that any information given in New Moon is appropriate for girls 8 and up.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's pretty good
This magazine is good because most of the articles are written by girls. When I first got this magazine from the library, I thought everything was written by adults, but then I looked at the first page (I usually read magazines backwards.) This magazine features informative articles about cool things. Sure, it doesn't have anything about fashion, celebrities, or boys in it (most of the magazines I read do), but that's what makes it original. The only things about this magazine I didn't like is that in the letters to the editor, there were some very strange things. Like there was 1 letter about a "girl" who was transgendered and there were letters about girls who wanted anti-gay things to never be published in the magazine. New moon is also VERY expensive! It is $5.50 an issue! Plus tax! So, if you want to get this magazine, I reccomend getting it from the library like I did.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS MAGAZINE!!!!!!!!
This magazine is really good, because it's supportive of women and girls. There are no models in this magazine, and a lot of people say it's sexist, but in my opinion, when a model is in a magazine that tell you to be yourself, isn't that kind of hypocritish? Besides, if you want to look at models or read about celebrity's you can always read the other magazines.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Magazine
This magazine is a great one. My son (age 7) looks for it in the mailbox and when it arrives he reads it cover to cover. He particularly likes the section about scouts saving their leaders or scouts helping scouts. It is an interesting book. It has badges you can earn at times and hints and helps and advice for a variety of scouting type activities and events.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great magazine!
I was surprised at the low reveiws for this magazine and had to write to say that my three boys (ages 10 to 14) fight over who is going to read it first when an issue arrives. We've not subscribed to any other magazine that my boys are as enthusiastic about.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Boy Scout magazine is a good magazine for ALL boys
When my son entered the boy scouts (tigers, wolves or whatever they are) this magazine began to appear at our home.To be honest I didn't expect much from it.I was wrong.

I am an early childhood specialist and (most importantly) I have a 4 yr old daughter. We BOTH look forward to getting this magazine.I've tried a lot of other magazines but this one really has been the best fit for us.The stories and pictures are great and the interactive puzzles really pique my daughter's interest. The jokes are perfect for her age and really are too cute.My only regret is that it comes only 1x per month!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cicada
Cicada is the best literature magazine around. It's stylish, refreshing, and just all around great. Includes beautiful poems, uplifting stories, and wonderful non-fiction. It's written partially by readers themselves, who send in their works to get published. This is my all-time favorite magazine, and probably always will be. Whenever I get a Cicada in the mail, I drop everything and read it cover-to-cover right where I am. It's so artsy, creative, and beautiful. The perfect gift for a writer/poet teen-Cicada will inspire, breathe life into, and carry him or her far, far away.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Mix
I've been getting this magazine since freshman year, and I'm only now, as a senior, really beginning to appreciate the mix of stories in every issue. We just finished our short story unit in English class, and I'm now rereading my favorites from the past few years. This magazine is sold as 14+, but some of the stories offer pathways much deeper into the literary world-what comes to mind is James Baldwin's Sonny's Blues paired with Langton Hughes' poem Harlem. I'm now doing a research project on Baldwin, but Sonny's Blues remains one of my favorites of all of his work I've read so far. Cicada is perfect for those years in between children's books and college reading when some teenagers lose interest in reading for pleasure due to required reading for school.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for kids to whom Cricket is gotten old hat

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, cool, for the modern parent
For $10 a year, at least I can look at a magazine that isn't dominated by SpongeBrand Squarepants or Dora the Commercialized Explorer and that realizes not every parent thinks the Disney Princess pastel hegemony is the only way to go for a nursery. Will I pay $200 for a sweater?Very doubtful, but if I did it would be something I could pass down as an heirloom.True, I may spend more per item on my daughter's clothes and toys than most, but I also limit the number of things she does receive.I'd rather spend $100 on one unique toy I found in Cookie than give her twenty pieces of plastic at $5 a pop from some toy megapolis.Cookie covers quality over quantity, style over branding, modern over mainstream and for that I'm grateful.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE this mag!
Finally a modern parenting magazine! This magazine is great for expectant mothers and mothers with babies or young children. I even enjoy reading it for the information for adults - recommended vacation spots, beauty advice, etc.

2-0 out of 5 stars not COOL
I have to agree with those who didn't care for it. the only thing I liked was one article written by a Dad who was skateboarding with his son. It was witty, insightful and inspirational. the rest of the mag just seemed totally irrelevent to my life. It is aimed at people who dry-clean their childrens clothes. Does anyone do that? I don't want my kids to be that concerned with clothes and money. the few issues I read made me mad and depressed. I've never written a review before but felt compelled to do so regarding this lame magazine. Give me break with that $400 cashmere hoodie for my son! my son likes his vilified character t-shirts and that is what matters. He is not a reflection of my style, he is a reflection of his own. Get over yourselves! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLE MAGAZINE!
I was hesitant at first to spend $29 on a subscription that only sent out four issues a year, but once I received my first issue I was hooked. This magazine is incredible! The pictures of the park from the past and present, articles, and interviews make the E-Ticket magazine a page turner. If you love disneyland you will love this magazine. You can even order past issues in case you want to explore in depth your favorite disneyland attraction.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you miss old Disneyland
Are you one of those people that go to Disneyland, and sigh wistfully, "I remember when I was young and this attraction wasn't here, and they had this great old ride they tore down"? Well this magazine is for you. A work of love by Disney historians and fans, it catalogs old attractions, shows, and personalities of Disneyland as they were in the 50's and 60's, and shows their progress and change over time. Usually an issue is devoted to one major topic, such as a land like Frontierland, or an attraction like the Mark Twain Riverboat. In that issue you would see and hear from former cast members who designed and operated the attraction. It features pictures of concept art, diagrams, the model, construction photos, and finally the finished attraction as it was then and any changes since opening.
5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the BEST!
Growing up with Walt's Disneyland, I was hungry for anything relating to the hidden facts and history of this most Magic of Kingdoms. 5-0 out of 5 stars My daugher looks forward to receiving Chickadee
We started with a subscription to Chirp for my daughter which she loved. Now that she is older, she receives Chickadee. When the magazine comes in the mail, she stops to read it from cover to cover. Well worth it! I now give subscriptions as a gift for birthdays.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's My Daughter's Favorite!
My daughter has been reading ChickaDee for several years. We generally don't buy magazines, but each time we went to the library, she chose this one from a selection of 20+ others that target children. Because it is one of her favorite things to read, I'm caving-in this year and purchasing it as a Christmas present. ChickaDee is not only educational, but it is highly entertaining and appeals to a nice age-range, particularly for 6 and 7-year-olds who may have outgrown the preschool magazines but are not quite old enough for magazines that target the intermediate grades. As a former teacher, I also recommend this magazine for classroom, silent-reading use.It contains loads of interesting educational content. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars NIck JR Magazine
I have a 41/2 year old granddaughter and bought it for her, it turns out it is not really for kids and her mom is reading thru it instead. So just letting you know this is not a KIDS magazine even if it is called Nick JR

5-0 out of 5 stars very good magazine
My daughter's preschool gave me one of these magazines to look thru for a few days - to see what I and other parents thought. I couldn't believe what a great magazine it was. The pull-out section for the kids has no ads and it is so much fun - much better then the Sesame Street one that came with the Parenting magazines.I also enjoy this magazine very much as it completely relates to preschoolers to 1st grade, not babies or older kids. As a mother of only 1 child (4yrs old) so far, I find lots of basic parenting magazines about 80% useless to me as most of it is geared towards babies and have so many stages. This one has perfect recipes, crafts and articles geared towards my daughters age and for myself as well.Lots of pictures to explain how to encourage them in the recipes/baking and arts too - not just lists of what you need and then writing of what to do. Very nice!I read it all from front to back and ordered a year subscription on the spot. The teacher said most parents who have looked thru it are as well.To the poster who only gave it 3 starts due to her 6 yr old stating it is boring after liking it for a year, it is Nick Jr, so it is geared towards 2-6yrs old. She probably is just moving on from it. For all moms out there with kids this age, you will enjoy it. Highly recommend.

3-0 out of 5 stars It used to be fun, but now she's disappointed
This is a great magazine for parents of infant or preschool age children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Neopets Magazine rocks!
I don't have it yet but I want it! I've read the magazine at [...], I really didn't know much about neopets neither neopets trading card. But now I'm older and signed up with neopets. If you don't want to buy the neopets magazine you can go toneopets offical magazine website and inside the magazine(website beckett.com/neopets)but you don't see the ads and skips some pages that the real neopets magazine has. If you haven't signed up with neopets sign up NOW! The website is neopets.com. It's the best! Neopets has games, contests you can enter, you can chat with Neofriends you meet on Neopets,.com( Parents if you don't want your childern chatting with other kids, Please tell you childern!)but in order to chat with other people and do other stuff on neopets.com you need to let your parents, kids to sign it and mail it to neopets. Have a nice day!

5-0 out of 5 stars "Pleased with my Neopet Magazine"!!!
Hi Guy's, I know these magazines are expensive, yes there is alot of adds! But to be honest with you adds are how I end up finding things I wouldn't have found else where!I really like the magazine. I'm probably newer to the "Neopet" seen then the rest of you, but I like the articles. I find them amuzing. I really "DO THINK THE PRICE IS TOO HIGH"!!! I think they could lower the price. Let's face it, the magazine is geered toward the kid's. But I still like it, but then again I guess I'll never grow up. Another thing. This is the only place that I know of that shows what cards are in what set,and what I'm looking for

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Magazine for Dog-Loving Children
We just got our first issue of Dogs for Kids last week and I love it!I got it for my 11 1/2 year old son, who loves dogs and has said he wants to be a vet since the age of two.We have four dogs of our own.The articles are very interesting and cover everything from information on different breeds to how to train them and coping after the loss of a beloved pet.I was especially touched by the tips on how to deal with such a loss. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was the ads for pure bred dogs in the back, as well as the so-called "designer Labradoodles".There are enough dogs in shelters that need to be rescued and placed in forever-homes.This is a magazine I think I will enjoy reading as much as my children!

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible service
I bought "dougs for kids" for my niece, but by buying it through the feature "one click", it went into my address without being able to change it to my niece's. I tried to correct it by emailing Amazon (you cannot contact them by phone, which is terrible). I received an answer saying that I had to wait until I got the confirmation from the vendor (apparently not Amazon - anaother terrible aspect). I never received such email. The other day I got the magazine in the mail.... and called their publisher.... didn't have the sales data, so had to call somebody else. Finally, after speaking to three people, a nice lady took my case and say she would investigate.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fun but can be better
I liked this magazine because it will talk about what kids can do with dogs, there are contest, and good pictures. But I think it is also very basic and can do better ... Read more
