5-0 out of 5 stars great soap mag
I love all of ABC's soaps and this magazine is great for people like me. Along with soap news it has a lot of good articles about the actors. It's great. :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent soap mag!
This is the best soap opera magazine that I've seen.A must-have for soap lovers like me!:)

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Magazine
This mag is great! I LOVE ABC soaps. My college classes make me miss most episodes, and although I try to tape them all I miss some. ABC Soaps in Depth keeps me up to date on everything going on in Llandview and Port Charles. It also has a bunch of candid pics of the actors. I highly reccomend it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A mag you can trust
PSM is the only mag i know to ever admit they underrated ICO. I quite agree with their ratings which seem to escape most of the commercial influences. The whole package doesn't glitter but it is very effective. It takes me hours to read it unlike some other mags that won't keep me busy fore more than a bus stop interval.

3-0 out of 5 stars You still get what you pay for...
Having been a subscriber to this mag since Fall of '97 (around issue #2 or #3, I believe), I can say the new look the magazine offers is the best since then. With a more adult feel, much of the corny humor has been toned down, and the magazine actually looks more professional than ever. Gone, for instance, is the ridiculous swimsuit issue, which had often badly drawn video game "women" in stupid situations. Starting with issue 111 (June 2006), the magazine has offered better and longer spreads on upcoming games, and a more in-depth review for its Game of the Month. I really wish, though, that the PlayStation games and the PSP games were better spread out, perhaps seperated, and not mixed with each other. The overall feel of the Magazine, though, has grown up and really doesn't need to be a guilty pleasure anymore. However, with all the good the magazine has to offer, some of what has made the magazine not so good has remained. Fanboyism can still rear its ugly head, and their pro PlayStation lovin' can lead to some not so investigative reporting. While they can be abrasive to the PSP, at times, many other instances reveal some bias for Sony, like when they repeated Sony's garbage about why the PS3 controller won't have rumble feedback: because it would interfere with the motion sensor technology. So, why does Wii's controller work? No mention about Immersion vs Sony. None. It's kinda sad and hilarious that a teen gamer on a message board can connect the dots more than supposed game "journalists." And what about the comment from Kazou "Kaz" Hirai (Prez of SCEA)? He stated: "I wish they [Microsoft] would come up with some strategies of thier own, but they seem to be going down the path of everything we do." Yeah, because Sony is so original (I won't even go into "Entitlements"). In the issue before, PSM acknowledged Sony's copying (they used "mugged") of Nintendo's Wii controller, but here no follow up? Curveball questions and reporting if ever there was. Almost as bad as EGM.And while the Game of the Month review can be larger (the staff's Final Fantasy XII review [October 2006, issue 115] was 14 pages long!), the result is passed to the other reviews; a page can be crammed with up to four reviews a page. I should say four paragraphs per pages, as that's what the reviews end up being. When they talk and report about games, PSM really tends to do thier best work, such as their interviews with Hideo Kojima and the spreads regarding Metal Gear. I guess that's why I can recomend the mag at its current price. 12 bucks is nothing (the price is partly why I stuck with the mag for this long). Check it out for yourself, but just remember that PSM is Playstation "family" only--brand specific. Keep that in mind when reading the "independent" praising of Sony by its fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hail to the king of playstation magazines
Alrightly. Folks it doesn't get any better than this. This magazine blends humor with serious reviewing. They will give the strong points and bad while keeping it real to the hardcore player elite - like me! Anyhow, I've read this magazine for a while and I've never been disappointed. The "Ask the 800 lbs. Gorilla" section is a riot. The Bottomline gamer this is an unbiased, not corporatly owned (like OPM, and XBOX magazine) and a pleasing magazine to read. Anyone "hooked" on gaming and looking for great recommendations on must have games should pick up a PSM and get a subscription. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Uninterrupted Crime Fighting since 1938
If you want the inside scoop on criminal activity in St. Louis written in a lively entertaining style, the "Evening Whirl" is your premiere source.I do miss the "Wife Beaters and Mean Mistreaters", "The Elite Gun Club", and "Booze Hound and Hooch Hound Club" columns that were previous features of the publication. When a major crime occurs in St. Louis the "Evening Whirl" gives you details that the major paper ignores or glosses over. And they have colored boxes at the beginning of articles to classify them:

5-0 out of 5 stars All Fantasy
For those of you who prefer fantasy over science fiction, this is the magazine to subscribe to. It has on average five to eight stories every two months with plenty of columns to read, such as book reviews, video games reviews, and folklore. A must have for writers of fantasy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Full-Sized Fantasy Magazine
I have been fortunate to subscribe to this magazine since it began. Each magazine does a very good job of covering fantasy in all its media aspects, with occasional nods to horror and science fiction.
4-0 out of 5 stars A magazine devoted to fantasy...what's not to like?
In my quest to be caught up on a large portion of the science fiction and fantasy short story markets, I decided to give Realms of Fantasy a try after being away from it for a long time (the last issue I had picked up before the October 2004 issue was back in the mid-1990s).This issue was quite good, so I decided to try the next one. While December 2004 wasn't quite as good, it still had some interesting stuff in it.Sure, it doesn't quite attract the big names in fantasy fiction (there is the occasional one, such as Gene Wolfe in the December 2003 issue), but it does have some authors that I have heard of.Kage Baker has had a story published in the magazine (I know!I know!Shut up about Baker!).Also, Stephen Popkes was in the October issue, but I don't think I would have ever heard of him if I hadn't read a couple of "Best of the year" anthologies. Then again, I guess that means he's pretty good.

4-0 out of 5 stars A better marine aquarium magazine doesn't exist.....literally
While originally and currently published in Germany as Koralle magazine, Coral the English version, stands as the only magazine exclusive to the marine aquarium hobby currently being offered here in the U.S. With that said Coral is a great magazine that I would encourage novice, advanced, and expert marine hobbyist alike in enjoying and securing as the exclusive premiere marine aquarium magazine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Long Live Analog
I have been a regular subscriber of sci fi mags for just about the past 15 yrs or so.It all began with Omni and when Omni folded, I found a a copy of Science Fiction Age.I had been subscribed to it for about 2 years before it folded.I found a few Omni-like glossy mag twins thereafter, but they all folded as well. Finally, I found the magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction and Analog and have been consistently subscribed to other for the past 10 yrs. Both of the latter are outstanding 'zines but for me, Analog is the best because it satisfies the craving for hard sci fi and *fact* at the same time. If F&SF & Analog ever have to close up shop then I would hope they would merge because then I'd have my hard sci fi, fact *and* horror/fantasy all in a one stop shop.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hard Science SF
Analog brings a dependable collection of hard-science fiction stories, novellas, and frequently, a serialized novel.Almost all of them are worth reading; I'm having trouble thinking of an Analog story that made me give up before reaching the end. While its sister publication Asimov's tends more to the social-SF or more literary forms, Analog sticks to a formula of hard-SF with some recurring features: one factual science article, one speculative science article, and a short SF humor piece (Probability Zero).Analog also has a lively letters column, where editor Stanley Schmidt or the story authors often reply. And Schmidt's editorials are always a good read.5-0 out of 5 stars Reminiscence
I haven't actually read Analog for about 20 years, but it was my introduction to science fiction very nearly 40 years ago, when I shared a flat (sorry, must use American, an appartment) in New York with one of John W. Campbell's editorial assitants!Since then, the genre has provided education, solace, amusement - and some disdain from others - and I despair at how few really good new English SF writers there seem to be.However, anyone (and I do mean anyone) who tries Analog with an open mind will find it a revelation. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Funny, but short
I bought a subscription for my husband as a gift for Father's day. I received one issue late June and just received another 2 days ago. The onion online is hilarious, the print version isn't as good. Only 2 pages of funny articles (roughly 4 small articles) and the rest are movie reviews and advertisements. I still gave it three stars because the onion is amusing despite those two problems. I'm sticking to my online dose of the onion.

5-0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best Things Out There!!!
the onion is really great. i've never read an issue that didn't crack me up. it's the news with a comical twist. i could always pick up a free copy in nyc but i just subscribe to it because it's totally worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Funny and More
The Onion is famous for its current-events and popular culture satires, which are consistently spot-on.The brash sense of humor and subtle insights into the personalities and issues being addressed makes this magazine worth its admittedly hefty subscription rate. The magazine contains more material than the website, so you definitely want to get your hot little hands on the paper edition.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars More than Dead, More or Less
Relix magazine finds itself in a tricky spot. They could be strictly faithful to their roots, become something like a Grateful Dead nostalgia magazine, and there would be a percentage of readers who would be perfectly fine with that.I've been on email lists with people who could debate endlessly over Dead trivia, what was their best period, which were the great Dark Stars, what years did Jerry have a click track in his ears and what is the greater significance of that.On the other hand of the spectrum, they could expand their horizons, attempt to bring in as many people and styles as possible under the umbrella of "Music for the Mind."They veer a little too far in that direction these days. For example, see recent interviews with Bo Bice and Rick Moranis, or recent reviews of Rush, Rosanne Cash, and System of a Down.Nothing personal about any of those musicians, in fact I'm a big fan of Rick Moranis' work from Little Shop of Horrors and his SCTV days, but it's a matter of scope. The danger is gradually turning into something as light and mindless as what the formerly great Rolling Stone magazine has become.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Jamband Favorite
This is my favorite magazine. I don't have much time to go to concerts these days, but Relix keeps me tuned in with the Jamband music scene. They recently redesigned their magazine and I think that it appeals to a much larger audience now. They do everthing from camping equipment reviews to music reviews to in-depth articles on bands... anything that might relate to the live music scene. Still, they find time to devote to the Grateful Dead (The Dead, Other Ones, etc.), keeping the magazine true to its roots.

5-0 out of 5 stars The only magazine if you are passionate about live music
RELIX is the only source for live, improvisational music. They cover the Jamband scene like no other.Read more

I was clearly influenced to purchase this subscription by the "auesome" review below. However, my breath expired at the half-way mark due to a complete lack of punctuation. Now I will be unable to ascertain the full impact of this rather worryingly written "review". Forget Mad Kids and obtain "Fundamentals of Better Writing" instead. You can thank me later.

My son loves the first Mad for Kids (he gets the older MAD version now)--but when we went to subscribe, we saw that it was only for quarterly editions. It's a fun magazine, just know that when you order, it won't come every month.

5-0 out of 5 stars Error in July Puzzle book
I believe there is an error in the answer for puzzle #43 in the July 2005 puzzle book. The logic given for the Cont. Congress print does not match clue #4.I believe the dates given for the Cont. Congress and for Paul Revere should be reversed. (C.C. should be 1868 and P.R. 1856)Other than that, I am having a ball with the puzzles, and it keeps my gray matter from atrophying!

5-0 out of 5 stars timing is everything
I ordered this on May 5th for Mother's Day, and was advised that the actual subscription may take 6-8 weeks, but that a card would be mailed to my Mother within 3 days.It was not mailed until June 27th, she still does not believe I was thinking of her on Mother's Day.As of June 30, she still has not received her first magazine either.Allow extra time when ordering if it is for a timely item.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best All Around Metal Magazine!!
I've been a subscriber to REVOLVER for over three years now and I must say that they are the best "bang for your buck" music mag there is, period! They pretty much cover all the bases of heavy music (Extreme, Doom, Death, Grind, Metalcore, Hardcore even punk at times). I'd love to check out other metal mags, well the good ones anyways (BW&BK, Anvil, Terrorizer), Sorry but Hit Parader and Metal Edge are kinda lame, too little too late, but also, I simply don't have the cash for a $100+ subscription, all though you do get free sampler cd's with great bands w/ each mag, REVOLVER bust's you out w/ free mp3's each issue too, so you do get to hear something, even though personally I think they could be a little more cutting edge w/ their mp3 choices as they tend to stay in safe Territory as far as what they push, whereas Terrorizer and BW&BK really give you "Extreme" music to listen to, as well as their reviews (they have gotten a bit better). I am however a little pissed, as well as confused as to why I just renewed my 3 year subscription for $15 and it's only $10 even hear on Amazon... Promo? i guess. Oh well, simply put, this is the mag to get if you enjoy Metal Music magazines.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best current music mag.
"Jazziz" as a title is a little misleading for some.Jazz is often defined narrowly as just Rhythm Change or Blues but I think Jazz is more inclusive and typically these issues have covered music that I think might also be classified as easy-listening, new-age, fusion, smooth jazz, pop or soft rock.An issue can also be tough to find so subscribing is an excellent idea.

Finally, a killer looking instrument magazine with interesting articles about players and collectors. This mag covers a pretty wide range of topics--interviews with players, builder interviews, some historical/esoteric stuff, etc. Even has some artsy photo spreads of instruments themselves. But I loved every page of the first issue. This is mag is stunning! No tab or instruction but plenty of entertaining, smart articles.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Great Tradition Continues
When WEIRD TALES was revived around 1988, I was sorely disappointed in the direction the editorial staff had taken. It was too "progressive" and not enough like the old WT so many of us afficionados knew and loved.Lin Carter had a great thing going for the four paperback issues he came out with under the Zebra imprint in the early 1980's.Unfortunately, he was not allowed to continue. His idea was to keep the FLAVOR of the old WEIRD TALES alive, and he did it very well.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best guitar magazine
I have subscribed to Fingerstyle for over five years and just reupped for another two.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Guitar Magazine
I've subscribed to this magazine for about a year, and it is *by far* the best guitar playing magazine out there.I find I spend most of my time now learning songs from this magazine than from anywhere else now. Each issue centers around a particular theme or genre of music, so I can now play a very wide range of songs that I would probably not have delved into otherwise. While some of the songs are pretty bad, there are always at least a few gems in each issue that are *well* worth learning. The CD that contains the recordings along with PDF files of the sheet music is worth its weight in gold 100x over!

5-0 out of 5 stars If you want to challenge yourself and improve. Get this!
I play several instruments in several styles, but I tend to view myself mainly as a fingerstyle guitarist.I've subscribed to this magazine for 2 years and I'me renewing for another 2.It's intense, and often quite difficult, but Wow!It's worth the work.
