As an aspring graphic designer who is addicted to fashion, I have found this magazine to fulfill my needs. It's not the type of magazine that going to tell you which bathing suit works well for your "bum type." They are not interested in what the tabloids say about their featured actor/actress/model or whoever. It's more about having an slightly in-depth conversation. Amazing
Nylon magazine is amazing, with a creative touch no other magazine has. Based in the great NYC, this magazine oozes creative sophitcativeness, originality, and a sarcastic charm with amazing fashion, art, and espicially music. The photography is pure genius and the layout will just want you to flip through the magazine again and again.

as a high school student aspiring to attend art school, nylon has provided me with countless sources of inspiration in their creative photography, layout, and decoration. i look forward to reading the magazine each month, and i honestly devour every last word and picture.

Best French craft magazine period!
If only they had an US version sigh*...Still Ooo la la when I picked this up in France for the first time I just could not put it down. The lay-out and photographs are beautifully styled. I was so inspired by the autumn addition I'm already planning on trying out a few of the paper collage projects. A superb magazine for crafty inspiration on every level- sewing, felting, vintage furniture restoration, interior design, storage, paper arts and entertaining a very collectable magazine.

Marie Claire idees translation
I love this magazine. I used to buy it at book stores but I haven't been able to find them lately so I am definitely going to get a subscription. Yes, it's in French but if you Google for free translation there are web sites that will translate from French to English.

Refreshing...wish it came out more often!
I recently got back from a trip home to Quebec, and bought a copy of Marie Claire Idees at the airport. Well, I adored it and plan to subscribe! The crafts and designs are classy and stylish, a nice change from the "County" style, ducks-and-cows, fake flowers and Disney themes that dominate the craft scene here. If you are sick of pastel landscapes, cartoon characters and cutesy themes, and can get by in French, this is the magazine for you! The only problem is that all their supply sources are in Europe, which is to be expected. And unfortunately it only comes out 4 times a year. It's cheaper to go directly to their site and subscribe there; about 34.00 USD including S&H.

Give Me the Details
Details is a mildly interesting magazine that is geared toward men of various ages and lifestyles. The main group that Details aims to capture is the 17 to 35 year- old male but there are articles in each magazine that could be appealing to men of many different ages, mostly in the middle to upper income groups.
Not worth the paper it's written on!!
Hi, I am writing this review in an attempt to help you save $10. This magazine is an embarrassment in every angle. It is full of pictures of "sexy" boys/men dressed in cloths no guy with self esteem would ever wear. And pictures is all there is, for you that think there will be something interesting to read, read this: THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS MAGAZINE TO READ!!! The latest issue contains of 48 (forty-eight) pages before you get to this issues contents. The first "article" starts on page 126 (!) and is about "why a man would like to slice of his testicles"! Totally the magazine contains of 260 pages and there is text (letters that forms sentences) on about 40 of them. Besides this, the magazine also has a huge dilemma of being a gay magazine or not.

I subscribed to Details because I'm interested in the male psyche. I also like looking at the male celebrity pictures and the guy models on ads. Its not the most politically correct article on the planet, for one the last page is called "gay or...?" In which the writer tries to uncover if a certain type of person is gay or not, and no conclusion is actually ever given so I suppose its for the reader to decide.

JANE - Love it!!
I love JANE mag these days! It's like a total bible for my life - the fashion is so cute and I can actually afford the stuff in there! It's got so much color and energy - I was inspirired by every page. No articles on diets or how to plz men. I want to hang and go shopping with all the writers and girls in the magazine - cool smart chicks who still love fashion :) No other women's magazine has such cool pages on beauty, all the others write about botox, but JANE doesn't do that. And love the "pranks" - the world needs to laugh a little more!

This magazine is my absolute favorite, I feel like the editors are people I'd actually be friends with. I also check out French mags like Jalouse for their fashion and JANE feels more like that than a typical American mag. The music reviews are right on, a great mix of indy and pop. A MAGAZINE THAT SETS ITSELF APART!!!
An Argentine friend of mine introduced hello to me about ten years ago. This mag sets itself apart from others and I had no idea that it existed, being a magazine freak myself.
HELLO MAGAZINE
I ordered HELLO on Jan.10,2005 through Amazon for my wife.She has not rec'd an issue since July,2005. Neither the magazine nor Amazon has succeeded in restarting deliveries and compensating her for the missed issues. In view of the $266 subscription rate I find this to be irresponsble.

Hello! Magazine has been my hidden little guilty pleasure for years. It is to People what the New York Times is to USA Today. And the best thing of all: Hello! is kind. There is never a mean spirited article or vicious comment on any of the celebrity scandals or controversies. Never. Everything is upbeat and respectful at all times.

Best fashion magazine available
This is the best fashion magazine on the market.Very realistic with budgets too.It shows different ways in which everyone can be fashionable (on any budget).I also enjoy the beauty articles because they have original ideas to stay in style and keep your skin looking beaufiful.

Definitely ahead of its time
The styles and trends shown in Non-No magazine are always at least 3 years ahead of the American's. I received my first Non-No magazine in June of 2001, and it is only now (in late 2006) that I'm seeing those styles here in the United States. Back in 2001, while we were still wearing regular-rise/high-rise bellbottoms, hip huggers or flare jeans, Non-No was already featuring low-waisted hip huggers, modified skinny jeans (lower-waisted, more flattering fit), and designer brands that were still relatively unknown here (Seven For All Mankind, Juicy Couture). Definitely give this magazine a shot if you want to stay aead of the trends here.

A fun read
I've read Non-No now for several years, and I truly recommend it to anyone wanting to expand their fashion outlook-- it's true, what the previous review said about wacky fashion! However, they eat this stuff up over there! And apparently I do too or else I wouldn't have bought the magazine! My earliest Non-No mag is from may of 1995, and the fashion in that magazine didn't really catch on in America until 1997 or 1998. I promise! I love it!
I'm getting bored w/ my hair and I want to do something new to it. So yesterday, I did my whole weekly commute to the bookstore and was looking through the magazine section when I saw this magazine. It was one of those magazines that I always saw lying around but never bothered to read. But I figured that maybe it would give me a new idea for a haircut, so I grabbed it and started reading.
sophisticates hairstyle guide
Sophisticate's is hands down the very best hair and beauty magazine on the market today. It contains the great new looks, hip ideas and amazing tips on celebrity styles. The color is stunning. The original Clip & Snip came from Sophisticate's and is not a knock off! The very best on the market today.

This is one of the many different magazines that you can find at discount or grocery stores with lots of hairstyle pictures. This particular magazine is about 40% color pictures. At least the issues I've bought were. This is something you would buy if you wanted a new hairstyle that would involve a new cut. A majority of the styles in these magazines are shoulder length styles and above. This is a nice item to have in a hair salon for clients to get ideas while they wait. A lot of the pictures in this magazine are pictures of Celebrities so you can also use it to keep track of their hairstyle changes. This magazine unlike some of the similar ones also has a section in the back with some styling instructions although they are not long and detailed. Trashy magazine

Just shoot me
You know "Blush" magazine? Its fictional headquarters are the set of the NBC sitcom Just Shoot Me. You read their headlines and article ideas, and you know they're based on this little piece of waste! What shocks me is that I know 13-year-old girls get their dose of sex and guys information from it. Very shallow, they try to be so sophisticated it ends up being naive! Stay away from it

New Doo's
This is probably the most up to date hair styling magazine I have seen in the US in a long time, most of them seem to come from England.It has some styles that are just a little different than what everyone is wearing and some very classy ideas as well.I really liked it and so did my hairdresser!!!

A great magazine...but not for everyone
Essence is definitely one of the top Black woman's magazines and a great magazine in general geared toward the Black community. The subject nature is very diverse and I buy the magazine when there's an article that interests me. Normally the articles are informative and have a focus and objective. There are standard columns- my favorite is "In the Spirit" which always offers words of encouragement which we need daily especially in the kind of world we live in today. Essence is an all in one magazine that focus on woman's issues as they relate to health, education, personal relationships, family, beauty, fashion, hair & skin care just to mention the common ones. What attracts me to the magazine is that is has plenty of details and the articles have great coverage. I enjoy the controversy that surrounds some of the issues, the discussions and I like to compare the magazine to other magazines in its category since I don't think all women of color can relate to Essence.However, I recommend Essence for those who are interested in race and culture awareness and also for the fashion, skin, health and beauty tips.

New To The Issue
For many years, I've seen this magazine in the grocery store checkout line counters, and I have flipped through the pages.One day I decided to get a subscription, and I'm glad I did.The magazine is beautiful, ethnic, and it has wonderful articles.It is informative and educational about relationships and being healthy.In its attempt of positiveness, it is an invalueable tool for girls of any age.Read more
