conflict of interest
contains articles, address information and many advertisements. Be aware that many of the advertisers in this periodical are owned by the Odyssey Group, the same company that publishes the magazine. I think there are obvious conflict of interest issues when it comes to this magazine policing the integrity of its advertisers. Some interesting articles, but editorially inconsistent.
This magazine is o.k, but could be better
This magazine is o.k. but it could be much, much better. First of all, this magazine costs almost [too much] per issue, yet 80 percent of the magazine is advertisements (In the May 2003 issue 56 of the 79 pages are advertisements). There are some interesting articles, but having only 23 pages of articles, and things other than advertisements there aren't really that many articles in the magazine; for example, the cover story is only 2 pages long. It would be nice if for what you pay for the magazine there was more content, other than advertisements. I personally would suggest that someone wanting a GOOD autograph collecting magazine try "The Autograph Times" (I am in no way linked to or advertising for The autograph times, i just prefer the magazine to this one) ... highly coveted /holy grail toy magazine
i have been with this magazine for a long time-(since the first few issues) i love this magazine..no rather i NEED this magazine! This magazine is essential for everyone that collects toys/action figures..etc. it has all the inside info on all the toys! I utimately live for this magazine! it is choked full of info on upcoming toys, the price guide is the most accurate guide on the market today and the editor really knows what he is doing and what the readers want.i would actually have to say this is easily a sunday afternoon of relaxing as well as learning, and has literally taught me everything i know about toys. the onlyy downside is..the availability-or rather where to buy? subscribing is a must..but for those of us who move frequently and work/travel all the time.the post office always(form my experiences) have a problem with forwarding magazines without losing or tearing them up. i know that books a million and several other state located speciality stores carry this. i have never seen one at a grocery store, waldens..etc. where i am located now..i have only been able to travel on my free time to virgina beach to find one. i wish that i was stable enough and knew i was staying at my presnt location long enough to subscribe..i save all my back issues due to the awesome ability for these magazines to be a reference guide and library for your collecting. i would easily say i read each issue at least a dozen times..where they stay on the coffee table until the next one comes out.many weekends i isolate myself with a beverage and my lee's and relax. ... Been a month and still haven't recieved an issue.
But that's my only problem I still really <3 scrye magazine. The only thing that tops it is InQuest Gamer imo.

Guide
Scrye is the only magazine that presents a resonably reliable price guide and conditions guide for trading card games. All the top games are included, with special details and full price guide for Magic: The Gathering. Scrye also provides a wide variety of articles on, and deck suggestions for you CCGs.

Nice for MTG Prices
If you are looking for a price Guide, then this is good.If you want to be entertained, and laugh out loud while getting your fix on CCG's, then I'd go with Inquest.

Well done two-state (Washington/Oregon) Magazine
I'm a new subscriber to NW Chess.The magazine is a black & white 30(ish) page newspaper type magazine with local (Washington & Oregon) chess news, events, and games.It is well presented and the games are entertaining to play through.I think I like it mose because it doesn't have hundreds of games (it isn't overwhelming) and it isn't written only for the 2000+ player as some chess magazines are.I have found it beneficial and a worthwhile way to both learn about chess and to keep informed with local events.Get a subscription, you'll love it!

Best State Monthly Chess Magazine
Most state chess magazines publish bi-monthly.Northwest Chess is an exception.Since the 1940's it has consistently published a high quality magazine with games from the top chess players in the area.

Best local coverage
