4-0 out of 5 stars what guys think about

5-0 out of 5 stars Why it is still a great investment
Men's Health is one of the most popular men's magazines because it meets the various expectations and needs of the modern man. You simply have to know about fitness, dieting, supplements, fashion, gadgets, etc. The annual subscription makes it a bargain and you get so much information for a few bucks. One of the most interesting sections is the one dedicated to bedroom activities. The tips are definitely useful and yet I highly recommend in addition the bestseller "scientifically guaranteed male multiple orgasms and ultimate sex" for the latest secrets in this area. Another key feature of the magazine is that it motivates you to stay healthy, lean and fit. There are weight loss tips, advice on how to eat and exercise in order to see results fast. This is important part of keeping sharp appearance. Overall, I can reasonably say that you will learn a lot, have fun reading it and most probably it will help you up to a certain limit to be a good looking man and great lover.

3-0 out of 5 stars Was More Consistent A Couple Of Years Ago.
This magazine offers plenty for its readers. Various advice on career issues, fitness, financial planning, sex, nutrition, style, weight loss, time management, and even recipes. It is clearly accessible and brief in its execution. Which is fine, since life can get rather hectic nowadays. It is somewhat similar to "Mens Journal." But, with far more attention on health and fitness. I deduct 1 star because it was better written in the past. Still, it is the best mens magazine available today. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars God Bless This Magazine
After 14 days in Italy with nothing but Pizza-Pasta, Pasta-Pizza, thang God for this magazine jam packed with lovely light and lightening recipes and ideas. This mag is a blessing!

4-0 out of 5 stars Magazine for Healthy Living
I'll agree with everyone else and say that this magazine probably does need a new name. However, I love all the other features in the magazine! It is Cooking Light, but there is so much more - always an article on a travel destination, an article on beauty, and an article on a sport, as well as other constants. The theme of the magazine is total healthy living, incorporating health issues and exercise as well as healthy food, though I do think that it is mostly a food magazine. I gave it four stars because while the recipies do look good, some of the ingredients are a bit too sophisticated for everyday and too expensive.

2-0 out of 5 stars Needs a new name
The recipes included are good, but this is not a "cooking" magazine. This is a women's fitness magazine in disguise. While I am all for a magazine that focuses on overall health and fitness, it shouldn't advertise itself as a cooking magazine. There is way too much other junk. If I wanted a makeover or an exercise routine, I don't expect to go to my cooking magazine to get that. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Waste of Money and Time
I picked up an issue of this magazine last week because I wanted to take the picture of the cover girl into my hair dresser. After I got it home, I opened it up to check it out and discovered it is the most brainless magazine I have ever seen. The articles read like something from "Teen Beat", yet it's filled with adult material. There were about 10 articles on "how to please your man" and "what guys like" and even a "sex workout". These articles didn't contain any "real" advice--just unintelligent babble. For instance, did any of you know that guys don't like it when you act unenthusiastic during sex? HMMM, crazy.
3-0 out of 5 stars What is sex like for him?
Cosmopolitan is a magazine that has a lot of information of different subjects. It's not only about sex and how to look great, but also about people's concerns. It's very easy to read and find what you are looking for, but there are also many ads. The perfume it usually has inside is pretty bad, and once you open it, the whole magazine smells. But as of context, the magazine is interesting

1-0 out of 5 stars If Women Buy this Tripe Is There Any Hope For Us?
If you're in search of a magazine for women that actually has worthwhile content then move on. There is nothing of substance in Cosmopolitan. Open the latest issue and you will find "sex tips that will drive your man crazy!!!" and "snag that cutie!!" galore. It's pathetic. And sophomoric.

2-0 out of 5 stars Um, no magazine
I'm sure this is a great magazine. But after ordering it and waiting 4 months I still don't have it.I have contacted the Amazon magazine service twice now and still don't know where my magazine is, or when it is coming.I was supposed to be coming in mid march (so there is a wait to begin with fyi).I gave this review 2 stars because I'm sure it is a good magazine, but the publisher apparently has problems working with Amazon to get it to my house, so they are not scoring to high in my mind.
    5-0 out of 5 stars Beginner-friendly...seriously
I've been buying Runner's World off and on for years and everytime I pick up a copy, I never feel warded off the sport. I'm trying to train for a triathlon and everytime I pick up a magazine relating to triathlons in general, I feel like I'm the laziest ass on the planet. I'm not going to not do one because of this but it doesn't really help motivate a beginner. I love Runner's World because it's all-inclusive, for any level, for any age.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent magazine
Being an infrequent runner and trying to get back into shape for the Baltimore marathon this year, Runner's World is indispensible.A number of the articles are encouraging and help me with training, diet, etc.The equipment reviews make me salivate (I wish I could afford one of the Garmin training watches), but in all it's a great magazine.I highly recommend it! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than the Rest
I like this better than the other Women magazines out there.I enjoy the pull out workout sheets and to me it has more useful information than Shape and Self.It is fairly new so it hasn't quite caught up to the Men's Health magazine but it is getting there fast.:)

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Overall Women's Mag
I like this magazine so much better than Self and Shape. I have subscriptions to all three and only plan on renewing Women's Health.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pump it up
This is a great concept. As a personal trainer I've seen far too many women suffer under the different ideas that people have about the way they should be.There are good articles in this magazine, articles that make good sense and are strong inputs to a fitness program. Now they need to dress it up.

5-0 out of 5 stars A very, very invigorating magazine..
I am a IT prof. Thus, I subscribed to this mag.; only with the perspective to gain a "little" insight into the working of the brain, instead of having to go through tons of myraid med. literature. What I was pleasantly surprised with and I really mean it - is this editorial board's ability to present even day-to-day matter which even "might" concern some neural science in such a lovely and beautiful manner; that even my wife (who's just a plain house-wife) loves to read. The subject matter discussed IN NO WAY can be considered to be MEDICAL, but rather a CRITICAL APPRECIATION AND DISCUSSION of every-day issues and stuff we notice around each each day. The amount of advertisement is bare minimum ; quality of print is excellent ; the writings are terrific. ONE OF THE BEST MAGAZINES TO HAVE on SHELF. (Proof - my sister's 16-yr. old came to visit me. She's BUILT on video-games, Skype/AOL chat and MS Civilization III. She opened this mag., started to read it and finished the 4 issues I had till midnight!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Mind Engaging
This is my favorite magazine about the mind, particularly with respect to consciousness. It's like a meeting of the minds (no pun intended) between spiritual phenomena and scientific discovery. The articles are seriously interesting and always have a new twist. I do wish it was printed more frequently however it is worth the wait for each issue.

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite magazine
This is the best magazine I've read lately. It is still new, and I've only received 4 issues, but read each cover to cover, finding each article fascinating, and very accessible (unlike the parent publication, which is occasionally over my head.)It may be just because I like the subject matter - but it seems to me these are subjects which would interest most people. Some recent articles (as of Oct. 2005) included why we lie, the meaning of dreams, the nature of consciousness, what causes creativitity, what is deja vu.It is one subscription which is well worth the money. The only drawback I've found is that it is quarterly - sometimes it seems like a long wait between issues. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
I was very disappointed in the magazine when I received it.The pages were cheap feeling, they were thin. The binding was not secure.I have to pinch the middle of the magazine together just to look at the pages or all the pages come out in clusters.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Magazine to Share
I find the Woman's Day magazine a helpful source of information for myself, my family and my friends. As I go through the articles and information in the magazine, I note items of interest for my husband and I (we are retired seniors), and for my daughter who has two children.Since the news that my son and his wife are expecting, I also save information for them.I have tried some of the recipes and were very pleased.Thank you for putting out such a great magazine. ... I have been reading this magazine since 2001; that's when they had a better format. It's changed to being almost boring. After this year I won't buy it every week like I have for the past years. It had better and longer articles.

    5-0 out of 5 stars This one's a keeper!
There's a huge stack of back issues of Womans World in my bedroom. There's another large stack of them in the living room. Several times, I've promised myself to weed them out and get rid of the ones I no longer want. But every time I discover that every single one is still useful to me in some way. Now that's a darn good publication!

2-0 out of 5 stars one big advertisement and full of nothing
Self what? The entire magazine now pushes product on every inch of every page. Their product placements went from "convenient and subtle" to obviously pandering to their revenue sources. Plus the stories and tips are so far out of reality that anyone over 25 with half of a brain couldn't relate. I once enjoyed Self and their monthly self-help plans. Their core message has gotten lost in the sea of product pushing.

3-0 out of 5 stars My thoughts on SELF
I have subscribed to Self before, and it is a great magazine. The subscriptions are pretty cheap, so it's worth it. Some of the articles tend to be about the same things: losing weight, new beauty tips. they repeat over and over. if you are to buy ONE issue of self, get the October issue because the articles that they have on breast cancer awareness are always really touching.

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite
I just recently decided to subscribe to this mag. and that was only based on the low price. But it has really suprised me and I totally enjoy this magazine. It is definately my new favorite. 4-0 out of 5 stars A decent fitness magazine IF you can overlook the flaws
About two years ago, I became a subscriber to Shape, mainly because I had received it for free as part of a package deal with another magazine.I had always liked browsing through issues of Shape in the supermarket, and I thought that being a subscriber would help support my fitness goals.Overall, I have enjoyed Shape and found it to be useful, but there definitely are some negatives, and the magazine might not be for everyone.
4-0 out of 5 stars Shape
I like Shape because it has great tips to help spice up a workout so you never get bored. There are great articles on places to stay, hike, relax, etc.As well, there are great inspirational stories.

I've got subscriptions to 3 cooking magazines (Eating Well, Bon Apetit, and Everyday Food), and this one is by FAR the most useful.I want healthy food but I also work long hours and can't spend a lot of time in the kitchen. The recipes in Eating Well are tasty, easy to make, and creative. The ingredients can be found at any grocery store and are usually things I have on hand.I look forward to every issue to find out what new recipes we'll be cooking up this month.I highly recommend it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Inspiring!
When the publishers of my all-time favorite women's fitness magazine (Muscle & Fitness Hers) decided to stop producing it, I had to find a suitable alternative. While it's not as "meaty" as Muscle & Fitness Hers, it's a good, inspiring read.It devotes too much space to fluffy stuff like clothing and makeup (and ug, even a few celebrities), but overall I would recommend it...at least until something better comes along!

5-0 out of 5 stars great magazine!
this magazine covers four main aspects: physical fitness, food & nutrition, health & beauty, and mental/spiritual health.it offers something in each and always has new and interesting information that is easy to understand for a person that is just a beginner in the fitness world or experienced.the focus is on physical fitness, and food, and the information is valid and easy to transfer over into everyday life.workouts are easy to understand, with good photos to illustrate, and almost all can be done without making a trip to the gym.
4-0 out of 5 stars Keep 'em moving
This is a good thing.Anything that can keep the folks moving in the right direction is great.I like the idea of seeing people at the top end of the fitness ladder but also want to see those who are doing the best with what they have.A decent magazine is in a perfect place to make it happen because of the on-going exposure. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting and informative magazine
Actually, I'd give it a 3.5.Love the magazine articles, but wish there were a few less ads (there's scarcely a page without at least one).If you aren't careful, many of the ads look like articles.I'm unfamiliar with some of the products advertised and find many of them informative - but the sheer volume affects the price I'm willing to pay for this magazine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful magazine
My husband and I started with a free subscription to this magazine and fell in love with it.We both read it from cover to cover.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice holistic heath and wellness magazine geared mainly towards women
I've been a subscriber to Body + Soul magazine for about a year now, and I look forward to each new issue. The magazine focuses on many areas of interest to me, including healthy eating, holistic health, fitness, and personal growth. The articles frequently feature practical things like recipes, buying guides, yoga or other fitness instructions, and emotional exercises (the latter of which I find particularly helpful in my work as a psychologist). My only complaints about this magazine is that there is a bit too much of a focus on spiritual/meditation type issues, which are less relevant to me, and that the magazine is on the short side with a high number of advertisements.Otherwise, I definitely enjoy Body + Soul and do plan to renew my subscription. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I Like It
The articles are fun & I've learned alot of useful information, like last month's article on depression - the fish oil & exercise worked almost immediately. It's not a professional or academic journal - if you're a general person on the street, you will learn a lot about psychology.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a Journal
I would have to agree with the preivous comments that state that this magazine isn't worthy of its title. I subscribed before reading review, I was hoping to find an affordable psychology-based read, though some stories are interesting I'm sure I'd be able to find them in other magazines like Vogue or Cosmo. and there is plenty of ads, probably more than stories. And much like other reviewers When I first ordered it, it took forever for the first issue to arrive, now its more regular but my subscription will soon end with no renewal of course!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, Valuable, Interresting but not an APA Journal
If you are looking for the quality of an APA journal, this is not one.But if you love the field of psychology as I do, it's a fun and relevant periodical. Kind of a Enquirer of Psychology.I find it a fun read when I'm relaxing, but be careful of their interpretation of research. You know how that can go.It's also got a flavor of Maxim or Cosmo type topics.Sex, relationships, dating, what do men/women like as well as diet/nutrition.Overall recommended. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Muscle And Fitness
Great magazine. They got good tips on everything. Eating/Building Muscle/Sheddin excess fat/ All that. Recommend this mag to body builders. I get it every month. Good stuff.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very pretty, but does it work
The pictures are nice, the show results current; but the information and products are as dated as Joe and Ben, themselves.

4-0 out of 5 stars Some need to read and just not look at the titles and pics
Muscle and fitness is a decent magazine.its like most all else out there.a bit slim, but good articles beyond just working out.

4-0 out of 5 stars There's gold here ~ you just have to look for it...
I live in one of the "Red States" in the deep south. Therefore, unfortunately, quality yoga instruction and teaching is very hard to find. But, fortunately, Yoga Journal is delivered to my area, providing most of the yogic wisdom and learning that I have received through the years. However I agree with other readers, I don't care for the ads for cars and cellulite cream ~ (who needs cellulite cream btw when you have a regular yoga practice?) I also do not care for the models they use is this publication, most of them look like adolescent girls who have just come from the Senior Prom! There are a few exceptions here when they do a feature on Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest or one of the Iyengar family members but for the most part, this gives a misconception that yoga is just for young, skinny women, what a shame.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Yoga Magazine Out There
This is just the best Yoga Magazine out there.Articles cover all areas and are suitable for the practioner as well as the teacher.I've learned so much from the magazine, and enjoy reading the human interest articles too.

3-0 out of 5 stars So so
Good articles, BUT too many advertisment. The first time I read this magazine was 1 year ago, and the difference with the increase in adds is big. It is annoying to go thru a magazine and have the feeling that you saw more adds than articles, and you just flip a page, and an ad, next page an ad, etc.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth a penny...
This is the worst magazine I have ever subscribed too.I hated it so much after the first issue that when new ones came, I thru it right in the trash. Here why:
4-0 out of 5 stars Professionals and Competitors
I love this magazine mainly because I am a figure and fitness competitor. It has great tips.If you are not competitor and just love to workout, this magazine is for you, too! You will get motivated by every article and meal plans! I do not recommend magazine for individuals who are just looking to get toned and not to cut body fat to supreme low levels.Oxygen can at times overly advertise the supplements. I used to get Shape magbut I did not like the models in that mag. They looked way too small to be advertising fitness.I highly recommend this mag for those individuals are INTERSTED IN COMPETITIONS!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good read but don't bother subscribing.
Based on the reviews I read here, I purchased Oxygen and loved it.I signed up for a subscription that day.Two months later I have not received my first issue; but, I have received three "payment due" notices and customer service claims two issues have been mailed out to me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Magazine, Information Packed
I would highly recommend this magazine to anyone that has had weight loss surgery or just researching it.I was surprised at the amount of information!I can relate to so many of the articles and now that I'm over a year post-op, it's really helping me stay on track.Excellent Magazine!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good but not worth the money. FIXED INCOME!
When I first started looking into having WLS, I bought all kinds of books, magazines etc. I got ahold of a copy of WLS Lifestyles and read it cover to cover.I really got a lot out of it, but felt it was too expensive when there were SO MANY ads. And because I am on a LOW income I just couldn't come up with the 25.00. Then I found Obesity Help.com or as it is called now OH.com. It was $5.00 cheaper and they gave me a discount. So ended up getting two years. It also has lots of advertising but excellant personal stories and experience. I had my surgery on Feb 21st 2006. And I am doing great. So far have lost almost 40lbs.It is the BEST thing I have ever done. I just wish info etc.wasn't so expensive.Lots of info on the internet. Everything above are totally my opinions. I loved what I found in the one magazine from WLS Lifestyles. Anyone considering having this procedure read and talk anything and everything you can. Lot's of different ideas and opinions. A lot of Dr.s have web sites too..

3-0 out of 5 stars Too Many Advertisements & Poor Recipes
The articles on emotions after WLS are enlightening - so many times I say "OHMYGOD, that's ME!"

4-0 out of 5 stars Thumbs up from a personal trainer
I keep up with what's going on with the fitness and weightloss industry but I did not really pay too much mind to WW till an old client brought it up. I bought it and it is so motivational that I recommend it to my clients because of the success stories. It really helps to know that people all over the country are attaining their weightloss goals. I have now start to add success stories to my website at
4-0 out of 5 stars Good Accompaniment for WW Program
My favorite feature by far in WW magazine is the personal success stories. Years ago, they only featured a few "losers," but now each issue contains 6-8 of the inspirational accounts. The magazine only takes a few minutes to read, and the level of health and fitness information it contains is basic, but if you need a little push in the motivation department every now and again, subscribe!

4-0 out of 5 stars Worthwhile for diet and nutrition newbies
WW magazine is one of the best for those wanting sound and sensible advice on adopting a healhty lifestyle. The articles are well written and accessible, though at times a bit on the basic side. It's perfect for the clueless or confused and frustrated with all the diet hoopla.

2-0 out of 5 stars Tons of Tidbits
There are very few serious articles in this magazine-- just tons of tidbits (stats/facts/tips). By the time you get to the end it's difficult to recall anything from the magazine; it's that shallow.
3-0 out of 5 stars The Magazine Diva says.......
Prevention is a magazine anyone can benefit from with great ideas on easy lifestyle changes. On the flip they are not very specific, although geared more toward a female audience. Some issues are excellent and some are average, but always informative and positive, never condesending.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tidbits
I love this magazine. It is EASY reading and what you read is easy to digest. There are so many tidbits of information that I find so useful. It makes me want to live a healthier life, and also have a healthier family. Since subscribing to it, I find that I have changed the way I do a lot of things. It's my favorite magazine which I compare to a ray of sunshine. ... Read more
