4-0 out of 5 stars Lukewarm
I have read 'Moment' occasionally over many years, and this in the hope of enriching my knowledge of the Jewish world. There have been articles and features which I have found useful. But on the whole the Magazine does not seem to me to be in a class with 'Commentary' or even 'Midstream'. I would say my reaction to it has been by and large lukewarm. I also believe it could be much more forthright and positive in regard to Israel.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of my favourite magazines
"Moment" is an excellent magazine. It discusses many various issues that concern the modern Jew; politics, culture and -- of course -- religion.Often the magazine will discuss controversial issues (with reader imput) so you can get the "scoop" on the latest debates.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Some People "Read" Playboy, I Read This....
I like this magazine a lot. I also get Military history and World War 2 magazine and this is my favorite of the three. The best thing about military history magazines in general is getting a new issue in and learning about something you had no idea happened. An example would be England ruling Argentina and the Philippines, did you know that had happened? I sure didn't. Also you will read, like in this issue I have here, about a battle contingency England had to invade the Washington territory in 1861 at the start of the Civil War; it's stuff like this that keeps me very interested in reading this magazine more so than the World War 2 stuff that I've probably over read (although it's in here also). Great glossy paper and pictures also makes it stand out from my other subscriptions, highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have for Military History Affectionatoes
Military Heritage appears to me to be a more scholarly magazine than Military History of which I also am a subscriber. This magazine will appeal to the Historian as well a the lay reader. I find the book reviews most incisive and helpful.

5-0 out of 5 stars High Quality Magazine
One the best military history magazines on the market. Always well written with articles from diverse and well balanced historical periods. Highly recommended. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Guns of the Old West--magazine
I ordered this magazine in October, 2005 as a Christmas present for my husband. He never received a magazine until after I contacted Amazon at the end of March.I contacted them again before we got a second magazine. To date (August 27) he has received 3 magazines.I will never buy another magazine from this company and do not recommend it.I realize they only publish 8 times a year, but the year is almost up and we've received 3 editions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Guns of the Old West (Magazine Subscription)
I haven't received my first issue for this subscription yet, but I've been a reader of the magazine for a number of years. If you're interested in 1800s firearms and/or cowboy action shooting, this is the magazine for you.It includes reviews of replica firearms (percussion and cartridge) and articles about reloading, gunleather, etc.One of the features I enjoy most in the magazine: in each issue there is one or two biographical articles about old-time Western actors (e.g., John Russell, Sunset Carson, Jack Elam). The author is a screenwriter who knew most of these actors personally -- so the articles are not only interesting but full of behind the scenes info.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent magazine; I would highly recommend it
I have greatly enjoyed reading WWII History. The articles are very detailed and easy to follow. Many articles have accompanying maps and pictures that enable the reader to clearly understand the subject matter.Several times I have read a particular article in WWII History, then read a book or watched a documentary which confirmed the accuracy and detail of the article.I am not a professional historian, but this magazine has greatly increased my knowledge of World War II.It has helped me to appreciate the profound sacrifices the World War II generation made for our country and the rest of the free world.

4-0 out of 5 stars WWII History Magazine
This magazine is a great compliment to any historian's study of WWII.The articles are fresh and well written, and the topics covered are well researched. The format is very pleasing to the eye.You are not blasted with advertisments on evey other page. Some of the topics written about I've not seen in a number of years. If the editors keep it up,they will be around for a long time.If you are a serious historian or even a casual reader of WWII, you will enjoy this magazine. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Do not order this
Amazon has not been authorized to sell AZURE to the public, and the publisher instructed Amazon twice in early 2005 to stop selling magazine subscriptions to AZURE.To my knowledge, Amazon did not comply, so the publisher has no idea whether any subscriptions ordered through Amazon will be received at AZURE's office.

1-0 out of 5 stars The second coming of"Chariot of the Gods"
In contrast to another reviewer's comment, I believe this magazine should be entitled, "Archaeology with an Axe To Grind." Helooo? To quote,"great white race exterminated by Native Americans"? As an archeologist who has worked on Prehistoric and Historic sites and has viewed the sort of material evidence casually tossed aside in favor of wild theories and ultimately racist assumptions by the writers (perpetrators) of this periodical,I am sorry to have ever supported this rag through the purchase of a single issue. My suggestion to any interested in archaeology, the pre-history of the Americas, Native American and other ethnic groups and the settlement of the Americas is to read something from "American Antiquity", published by the Society for AmericanArcheology. There at least you will find a theoretical view that has been updated since the nineteenth century. This magazine is enough to make you wish we really could blame the problems of civilization on aliens from outer space.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fascinating look into the wonders of Ancient America!
I've learned so much about the history of our country from this magazine. If you have an interest in archaeology and want to learn about the truths of the Americas past, get this magazine. It's worth every penny.Learn about the many cover ups of the truth.Learn about the great white race of people who were exterminated by the indians hundreds of years before Columbus set foot on this continent.Learn about the great races of the past.Every month I read each issue from front to back.

4-0 out of 5 stars Genuine Archaeology of the Americas
This magazine should be titled "Archaeology With an Open Mind ". Traditional archaeology looks only at evidence that supports preconcieved notions and ignores, or even destroys evidence to the contrary. I was recntly at the famous Putman Museum ( the first museum west of the Mississippi ) where obviuosly genuine artifacts were labled as fakes because they displayed a multiculturism that flew in the face of established beliefs. They even put out pamphlets that denounced the scientist that proved their authenticity. None of that in this magazine. The conclusions in the articles are often far out, occasionaly even absurd, but always without preconceptions. You finish reading with a feeling that your mind is expanding, rather than that you have been lectured to on what you should believe. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Scholarly and enjoyable
I have been reading History Today for years. It covers largely European, and especially British, history, with occasional articles on American and world history.Articles are written by established scholars and sound popular historians, such as Antonia Fraser and Alison Weir, and are accompanied by brief bibliographies. Illustrations are usually drawn from sources contemporary with the subject of the article.
1-0 out of 5 stars Abandoned!
Love to review History Today, but haven't seen a copy yet.Any ideas?

4-0 out of 5 stars Uncommonly good
By far and beyond the best history periodical I have come across. And consistantly one of the best magazines I have read. I have subscribed for three years now-and that says a lot for me, especially given the price, since most magazines don't keep my interest for longer than a year. I find myself dropping anything I am currently reading, magazines and books alike, until I have finished each one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding New Magazine on WW II
America in WW II is a look at ourselves during the dark days of the second world war.It takes a different approach to the war by presenting actual first person accounts from the average GI and Sailor in addition to how life on the Home Front was at the same time. There are enough publications on this time period covering the generals, the armies and the tactics, but America in WW II actually brings the war home. There is truly something for every historian of World War II, no matter where your interests lie.The first WW II magazine I have enjoyed enough to actually subscribe to.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best written magazine on WWII
America in WWII is a well-written magazine. It focuses on stories from the homefront as well as the military. Many stories are told in the first person adding credibility and detail not found in other accounts. Solicited stories submitted are interesting and fresh perspectives of a bygone era. I read each issue cover to cover. Well-done. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Overpriced and Bad Shipping
The magazine is ok, its on par with Miltary Heritage magazine in my opinion. It is in a hardcover binding so that justifies the increased pricing but I dont think its worth 9.00 an issue. I could buy a nice book for that amount, plus they shipped me if I remember correctly 3 of the 4 issues for the year in the first 3 months so it really seems like a ripoff to pay 35.00+
5-0 out of 5 stars superfantastic
I've been getting this magazine since it first came out years ago, and every issue is just as exciting as the first. It not only gives you the military aspect of events, but often goes into detail as to how and why these events occured, which is invaluable in itself. I can't wait for the next issue to come out, and wish it would come out more often. And the fact that it comes in hardcover format makes a nice presentation on my bookshelf. Thank you MHQ

4-0 out of 5 stars Wide-ranging, thorough study of military history

I use this magazine for my three kids (ages 9, 11, and 13) who are homeschooled. They love the magazine because it makes history more fun than dry textbooks and they get to really experience what life was like in a certain era.
