I really look forward to receiving this every month.I am blown away by all their crafty ideas for art projects, organization, and meals.Really fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Parents is a good magazine!
I really love this magazine because it has parenting articiles in it!
5-0 out of 5 stars Remember to read the description
I just ordered my own subscription to Parents Magazine because I was reading it over at my younger mother-in-laws all the time and I absolutely LOVE it. I even ordered the Sleep Sheep I saw in there. The thing people need to remember is that it is aimed at mothers aged 18-34. There are other magazines out there for older mothers that I'm sure us younger ones would find uninformative and biased. Every magazine has a demographic goal. I honestly LOVE this magazine. I'm 24, and a stay-at-home mom and my husband works at an electronics store. We are by no means upper class. But I still find their tips on saving money and bargain buying VERY helpful. For those who are older, you might want to try babycenter.com for tips for older mothers.

5-0 out of 5 stars National Geographic meets Bon Appetit
What a beautiful magazine (full color pictures on glossy paper), and what interesting stories behind each food. The recipes are sometimes doable, although most of the time I just like to read about the exotic ingredients in each.
5-0 out of 5 stars National Geographic of Cooking
In Christmas of 2005 I decided I wanted the most interesting and best cooking magazines out there. But which ones to pick? After buying one here and there I found three that I absolutely love.
5-0 out of 5 stars This Magazine Is A Journey......
I love how they focus on a particular region and give background on the food and the people.

Communication Arts is great. It provides ideas, insight, and shows what's going on in the media world as we know it.

5-0 out of 5 stars The only magazine that I keep back copies of!
As a professional graphic designer and illustrator, I read a lot of the trade magazines, but Communication Arts is the only one I keep back copies of. I have had a subscription to this magazine since my art school days and I still look forward to receiving it in the mail. The magazine is beautifully designed with clean type and the feature articles are always interesting. It is well worth the cost of subscription. Just get it! You won't be sorry. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Princess Heaven
Our daughter has had a subscription to this magazine for the last two years and we just renewed the subscription for another year. She will be 6 in a month and looks forward to receiving a new issue every other month. She loves reading the new princess stories in each issue and doing the object finds along with the other activities.I look forward to reading it with her as well.It is a well written magazine with fun activities.

My neice loves this. I got this for her 4th Birthday. She started reading when she was 3, so this is great to continue honing her skills.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pricey!
And I am not talking about the subscription! My problem with this magzine is that there is SO much advertising in it - all from Disney.I know it's their magazine, so they're entitled to do it, but my daughter did (some of) the activities, and then treated it like a catalog - "Mommy, can we get this?, Mommy - look at the movie coming out!".We switched to Sparkle magazine which has NO advertising in it - just D.W., Angelina Ballerina, and other favorite girl characters.Yes, it's got all the Disney Princesses, but you may feel like the evil stepmother after having to say no to all the "I want"s. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars NewYorker
This was a gift for my daughter. Instead of receiving the New Yorker, she is receiving People. You need to fix this!

5-0 out of 5 stars great magazine for New Yorkers
I used to subscribe to Time Out New York and wanted a little more than bars/clubs listings or interviews with some weird artists. I found it in New York magazine. I liked its special sections on Best Lawyers and Doctors in NYC. I liked its monthly listing of fun activities in NYC . I liked its summer vacation sections. I liked its one-day getaway ideas. Too many things to list...it's a magazine for mature adults who want useful information as well as ideas on fun places to go to.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
I was very disappointed in the magazine when I received it.The pages were cheap feeling, they were thin. The binding was not secure.I have to pinch the middle of the magazine together just to look at the pages or all the pages come out in clusters.

I find the Woman's Day magazine a helpful source of information for myself, my family and my friends. As I go through the articles and information in the magazine, I note items of interest for my husband and I (we are retired seniors), and for my daughter who has two children.Since the news that my son and his wife are expecting, I also save information for them.I have tried some of the recipes and were very pleased.Thank you for putting out such a great magazine. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best toddler magazine
I work with babies and toddlers and have young twin grandsons.I give all the toddlers I love a subscription to BabyBug.The kids love it and look forward to Kim and Carrots' next adventures. The art is gorgeous with beautiful diverse families depicted.I wish I'd had it when my kids were little.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good way to cultivate love of reading!
I am a new subscriber, and I love these little books. Though the format and writing is simple, the books are perfect for young babies and toddlers. My toddler loves to flip through these books, and so do I [the illustrations are lavish and beautiful].

4-0 out of 5 stars In defense of Babybug...
I noticed in another review that someone didn't think Old King Cole was an appropriate choice for a baby book because of the "pipe," but I thought I'd mention (since my baby LOVES Babybug-- at 25 months, she still picks these books off the shelf all the time) that the illustration accompanying this classic, unavoidable Mother Goose rhyme clearly shows that Old King Cole has bubble soap in his "bowl" and is blowing bubbles with his "pipe."This actually makes way more sense to me than most other Old King Cole illustrations (why does an old king need a bowl and a pipe?not to mention his fiddlers three), and I finally have an explanation for why he would want a pipe in the first place!

1-0 out of 5 stars From a long time subscriber
Firstly, I do like the magazine, however I had the misfortune in dealing with their subscription department. When it was time for me to renew, the cost was $29.50. However, I noticed via their website they were charging new customers $15.00. I can understand that except their renewal price would continue to be $15.00. When I complained, they sent me an e-mail stating they would give me the same deal. BTW, I had already paid the full price per credit card(29.50) before I got their e-mail. So, I (silly me) expected to receive a credit of almost 15.00. So, I waited for the magazine and it never came. I waited for 2-3 weeks. Finally, I e-mailed them again asking what gives? They said they were going to charge my credit card another $15.00! I then called and was told they were charging me $44.00 for one year. When I mentioned the $15.00 deal, I was told that they never would charge $15.00 for one year. That was a lie as it is clearly stated on their web site. The strange part was that when I said I wanted a refund, they made no attempt to retain me as a customer though I have been a loyal customer for about 10 years. I would steer clear of dealing with them directly if you still want their magazine. Something is very wrong.

5-0 out of 5 stars ALL THE NEWS THAT'S FIT TO PRINT...
Of the three major, weekly news magazines, Time, Newsweek, and U. S. News and World Report, this is probably the best of the three in terms of its news reportage. It gives fairly balanced, objective reporting of the news, and its uncluttered format makes it easy to read. Its articles are often accompanied by first rate photographs and illustrations.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Magazine!
It is unfortunate that so many customers have had bad experience with the billing of this magazine, because it is a truly wonderful product. Each issue is an in-depth exploration of a single topic, so kids can really learn a lot. It's a nice change from other kids magazines that have a "sound byte" approach to information.
1-0 out of 5 stars SCAM ALERT - SCAM ALERT - SCAM ALERT - SCAM ALERT
I also got this disgusting subscription "invoice" from these jerks. I don't care HOW GOOD A MAGAZINE IS, if someone has to use deceptive, threatening and totally bogus marketing practices to ensnare new subscriptions, their magazine should not be rewarded with anyone's business. I never ordered or got a single issue of their rag. Only a repeating smack in the face via mailbox claiming I am going to be "referred to a collection agency."KIDS Discover, you will NEVER get a cent out of me. Last time I checked we still live in a land where we don't have to pay for what we never got. If you spent as much time working on a good magazine for kids as you do sending out fake bills, you would have enough subscribers you wouldn't have to Shanghai any new ones with your fraudulent billing scam.

1-0 out of 5 stars Fraudulent Billing
We've never received this magazine, but we just received the bill with a message that we are about to be turned over to a collection agency.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Quality Magazine
Unlike other travel magazines, this one provides a lot of useful information while holding advertising to a minimum and not interlarding promos throughout the articles (Rick Steves, are you listening?). Each issue contains a wide variety of material about diferent parts of the world and the information provided for featured destinations is truly useful. In other words, the information is trustworthy, the first prerequisite for a travel magazine.

5-0 out of 5 stars great magazine
I read the Nation for its poetry, Katha Pollitt and takes on the news. It's a left wing magazine.I don't understand the people who criticize it for being liberal and expect "objectivity". Humans have opinions and viewpoints. Even Time magazine and the National Review have viewpoints. It is what it is.

3-0 out of 5 stars Accurate Reflection of the Leftist Grassroots
The Nation has become a pretty accurate reflection of the U.S. mainstream leftist grassroots.Like any ideological magazine, it appears delusional, but this tendency has been lessened in part because the Left is so pathetically powerless. The writing and editing are usually pretty good and they do take a legitimately global perspective of the world. It may not be as intellectual as some would prefer, however, in the Left there is an almost unlimited supply of theoretical journals and publications, so this is not particularly problematic.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great Quality Journalism But Offensively Hyper-Liberal
I couldn't agree with Mr. Freedman's review more. I just recently let my subscription to The Nation lapse after the magazine's calls for Amnesty and a path to citizenship for millions of lawbreakers from South of the Border and elsewhere became nauseating to the point of obnoxiousness. Just as Mr. Freedman said, the magazine is so far to the lunatic-fringe-left, that its more important articles regarding Corporate Fascism and Republican corruption get lost. Additionally, they aren't honest and transparent about the sad fact that the Democrats too have been bribed and lobbied to the point of a total disconnect with the American public and have become tools of Corporate Fascism just like their Republican counterparts. Where is the Nation's (i.e. Democratic) sustained outrage at the fact that we are forced to "vote" on corrupt Diebold machines controlled and programmed by fanatical Republican ideologues, for instance? The recent overwhelming Democratic vote to confirm Hayden as CIA director after he has showed utter contempt and disregard for a dusty old document once vitally important to all Americans called "The United States Constitution" has caused me to re-register to vote as an Independent recently after being a life-long Democrat. In this spirit I'd like some objectively-generated journalism, not tendentious party-line droning. Is there any such publication still out there? ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Overwhelming amount of ads
I would agree with previous reviewers, in that the burgeoning ads in this magazine over the past decade has made the magazine a chore to read. The number of ads now easily exceed the number of pages devoted to articles. It is also quite disturbing to note that many of those ads (possibly 50% or higher) pitch ultra high end products, such as Viking ranges, BMW's, Oceanna Cruises, trips to Bora Bora...WTF? Although I do enjoy I a luxury meal, I don't want to go into massive credit card debt purchasing products this magazine is selling.Ocassionally, behind the clutter, I find a useful recipe; I rarely find an interesting article.
1-0 out of 5 stars DECLINEIN QUALITY
I began subscribing to Gourmet in 1961, and continued to subscribe for about forty years. I also gifted family members with subscriprions.
1-0 out of 5 stars Didn't subscribe to read a lecture by a lawyer
First issue arrived today. After tearing up8 or 9 insert ads which made it difficult to read the magazine, I sat back to enjoy. First articlewas a lecture by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the danger of mercury in fresh water domestic fish. Perfectly safe to fish we are informed (well duh). Just don't eat what you catch. Expectant mothers should be extra careful as babies with high level of mercury have lower IQs. The net is full of peer-reviewed studies from major universities on the subject of mercury poisoning. Why buy a food magazine to read what an activist lawyer has to say about the subject?

5-0 out of 5 stars THE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE FOR THE APPLE MACINTOSH WORLD
Five ESSENTIAL Stars. Macworld Magazine is the one magazine that has it ALL in one convenient place and is absolutely necessary for the Macintosh computer user. Published monthly, it is chock full of articles on and reviews of the latest Macintosh/Apple equipment, software, applications, games, browsers, neat websites, and other essential products and services. From the "FEEDBACK" letters to the editor that have real substance, to an extensive "REVIEWS section covering areas like cameras, camcorders, printers, notebooks, laptops, desktops, CD & DVD recorders, etc.., to the in-depth "SECRETS" covering areas like 'the Working (office or home office) Mac', 'Digital Photo', 'Mobile Mac', 'Geek Factor', the awesome Mac OSX 'Help Desk', and the essential helpmate 'Mac 911', Macworld is the Gold Standard. It even has regular tutorials for the daring Darwin UNIX user, giving the real geeks a literal software tool kit into the inner workings of Steve Job's marvelous computer (only for the most experienced expert user). Even in cases when another magazine has a similar article, Macworld always seems to do it better, probably because it has been at the Mac publishing game longer than any other magazine to my knowledge.

5-0 out of 5 stars High Quality Review of F1
This British magazine is a little (well, more than a little)pricey but it's an excellent, high quality review of F1 events, people, and races. It arrives in the US about one race late -- so it's not the best place to get the "news," but the editorial staff does a great job staying on top of current F1 developments, rule changes, driver changes, and other controversies, so it still feels very current.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Info, Bad Ads
I like the information brought forth in this magazine. Some things were relevant, some not (25 steps to cleaning my car is not very relevant). The only gripe I had with this mag is the effluous flow of Viagara and "Better Sex" video ads sprawled throughout the magazine-- I counted SEVEN such ads in one issue! My kids love to read "This Old House" and "Old House Journal," but "Family Handyman" was off limits. Too bad. To the magazine writers: Not EVERY handyman-type magazine reader is a man, and not EVERY magazine reader needs to be bombarded with the same crap that floods my email inbox.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product but Misunderstood Process for Gift
This is the third time I have purchased Handyman Magazine for family members as gifts. This time, I misunderstood how to gift the item.Unfortunately, I did not have a second chance to send the magazine to a family member as a Christmas Gift. After calling, the only recourse I was given was to to refuse the magazine when it comes (because it is coming to me instead of my son in Atlanta), call and cancel the order and reorder.Unfortunately, doing this, it will not reach my son in time for Christmas.I would like to see something built into the system that gives a second chance to bill me, but send as a gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars A bit glossy and "staged", but info and tips are great!
My ONLY gripe with this magazine is that the pictures are like those you would find in GQ magazine: they hire models to show you driving a nail or shoveling dirt for that new patio. These people use only brand new tools (brand name label showing of course) in a perfect-world dust free environment. The pictures make it look like it's a Sears catalogue.

1-0 out of 5 stars 1 star-LOWEST RATING, but I'd give a NOTHIN' TO IT
I think it's riddiculous to put the imagery of these girls as being hugely sexual- continuously confronted with this situation through the media images, t.v. etc.- they are confused, risk taking and not able to be in control of their lives , their choices. We need to cut the double messages out.Wouldn't it be best for the messages of people who really give a damn (parents, teachers, family) to finally be more important than the revenues of a magazine unit??TEEN VOGUE works against this premise.

2-0 out of 5 stars Teenage Vogue, don't you mean teenage angst?

5-0 out of 5 stars Yeah, what they said.Plus....
...once you tear out the subscription cards, there are no ads (unless you count one unobtrusive one buried in the publisher's information, telling you how to renew your subscription or order a slipcase).
5-0 out of 5 stars Our number 1 pick, even over Ladybug
My curious 3 1/2 yr old pre-schooler is absolutely fascinated by the themes in this magazine.A few of the articles are above his level which means I will be saving the magazine in a slipcase for future re-reading.The last issue I received was on the theme of magnification -- and we played with a magnifying glass and now more than a month later he enjoys pulling out a magnifying glass and magnifying all of the teeny tiny objects that catch his interest like the little metal balls in mazes, ants outside the house etc...Don't pass on this one, it has in depth articles, and plenty of pictures to engage a young ones interest too. What a great opportunity for open ended learning!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Great Magazine for Pre-Readers/Emerging Readers
I've been subscribing to Click, along with its sister publication, Ladybug, for about 2 years now. It's a great way to introduce the "real world" to my 5-year-old. Read more
