Review of THE ECONOMIST
This is the most accurate geo-political and socio-economic English-language news-weekly there is. Period. Articles are succinct, top-notch, and cover everything from the world today to business, economics to the environment. I do think the magazine tends to focus a bit too little on the environment and religion, but that is my perception. Despite the editorial style and very sophisticated diction, articles are still easy to understand. True, this magazine (or newspaper, as it calls itself) is staunchly pro-democracy (i.e. broadly speaking, anti-Russian policy, anti-Chinese policy in their respective conflicts, say, over Georgia or Taiwan, and pro-war on the Iraq issue), pro-free trade, and pro-European (i.e. for the expansion of the EU). But it takes many conservative and liberatarian positions, too, and oftentimes even liberal ones, which, overall, makes the magazine fairly objective - you'll usually get all or most of the points-of-view after reading just a few articles on the same subject, although the Economist usually does imply, or sometimes downright state, which position it takes or the world must take. Actually that's the best part: it is very refreshing to have a magazine that is not afraid to share its opinion and offer its advice to readers, hence its influence. This, for me, is the icing on the cake.

This is not solely a magazine for financial news. Writers from various points of view give the reader a great depth of research in their reporting. Precise coverage on current events, science, law, medicine, economics, politics, and technological news that you will not find anywhere else. Great for new fashion followers, passe for insiders
Italian Vogue is very avant garde, and features the world's best photographers, models, and designers.But it's been exactly the same for like 13 years.It even got overplayed a few years back, as the only magazine carried around by top stylists.It's definitely worth a one year subscription, but you may want to reconsider renewing it.

One of the BEST fashion magazines out there.
In a previous review I slated the incredibly banal American Vogue, and recommended Italia.Thank God Amazon.com now offers subscriptions.Although this magazine is "a little bit more" it is worth its weight in gold.Even if you can't read Italian, the fashion spreads more than make up for it.It is everything American Vogue tries to be...stylish, cutting-edge, progressive.Who reads American Vogue anyway? - There's nothing to read in it!You won't regret buying this magazine. ... rocks.
magazine rocks. i took french in high school and i'm in college now, so i keep up with my french by reading this magazine among others. the price is iffy [esp if you're a poor college kid like me], but the magazine is REALLY great--the photos and the artistic value is worth it alone.

French Vogue is a magazine which is published in french and is directed towards the people ofFrance, and anyone else who is interested in the tops in fashion, art, books, movies, as well as health, beauty, and fitness issues. Vogue is for the person who is either "In", who who wants to be. It is often heavy laden with photos and articles on celebrities, and contains the usual array of advertisements directed at the Jetset.

I don't speak a word of french,and I barely read it, but I love this magazine!!! If you love fashion, get a french dictionary,I did, this is a magazine to savor! Excellent magazine, terrible subscription service
Save yourself a headache and don't order Domus through Amazon.com. There is a definite problem with distribution. I ordered my subscription in the end of February and didn't receive my first issue until the end of May!! EACH month I have had to contact Customer Service to get my monthly copy. Meanwhile, I could have easily have picked it up at a local bookstore.
Amazon at their WORST
I have enjoyed every issue of Domus that I've ever seen - that's the reason my girlfriend ordered me a subscription for christmas. Now it is almost May, and over four months since the initial order was placed. I have yet to receive my first issue. My girlfriend has called several times, to which Amazon's [normally helpful] staff reply that "it is probably in the mail" and we shouldn't cancel the order. Sheesh! None of the customer service reps have been able to track the order. They claim they will call back, but we don't hear from them. THE BEST

The best magazine out there for people in creative environments
I am not an artist, but I work with creatives. In my job as a Product Manager, I am exposed to web design, interactive design and graphic design every day. Reading through the great articles Computer Arts offers every month allows me do a better job as a manager with my product and helps me give my team better direction when it comes to creative decisions.
Great magazine.
For the passionate web designer, this is the best magazine out there.Each issue comes with a cd and is packed with useful information.This cost seems a little high - about $70 more than the on the Computer Arts site (after the currency conversion).You can't go wrong when purchasing this magazine.

great tutorials, and a great read every month
This is one of my favorite reads as far as digital arts from the UK, well written the tutorials are the off the hook and they always give you a cd with software to use. And as a graphic artist this is a book you learn by doing which i think is the best way to learn. ... Read more

Get an idea about the Spiegel online
I have been a reader of the Spiegel in Germany for several years. Since I moved to the US for graduate study I subscribe to a daily (free!) newsletter called "Der Tag". Instead of relying on polemic critics you might as well read some of the articles yourself to get an idea of the quality of the Spiegel.
Brilliant, intellectual, left?
There are a few good news magazines out there, the Spiegel is definitely one of them.

What Makes This Cooking Mag Different?
I've subscribed to Gourmet, Bon Appetite, even Taste Of Home. What I like about Donna Hay's magazine is that every recipe I liked had a wonderful photo (I'm very visual) and easy to follow directions. It's also not cluttered with a lot of "wine tasting in the valley" type of info or gourmet reviews of things I'll never cook. These mags are keepers and you could even mat/frame some of the photos for your kitchen wall. Remember though, the subscription is for 6 issues a year, not 12. Great gift for that cook you just are out of ideas for!

donna hay is excellent!
I enjoy this magazine profusely! It is beautifully stylized,terrific recipes and good for day dreaming too!

Donna Hay Magazine, Autumn Issue
I just bought Issue #14 at the local book store and I am very impressed.The photographs are excellent.I assumed the recipes would be long with an exotic ingrediant list but I was pleasantly surprised at their simplicity and that most of the ingrediants were ones I had on hand. Best of all, everthing I've tried so far has tasted great.I did find their publishing schedule a bit confusing as I could not find a date in the magazine and the cover only stated Autumn.I liked it so well I went to a different book store and found Issue #13 as well as cookbooks by Donna Hay. ... Ricordo di Roma! (Souvenir of Rome)
La Settimana Enigmistica has to be the world's best puzzle magazine. When I lived in Rome, I bought it every week at the local kiosk. It is full not only of crosswords, but also of intricate puzzles, such as anagrams, monoverbs, changes of vowels or consonants, cryptograms, and other brain teasers--all in Italian. It also has cartoons. The puzzles begin easy, and become harder later in the book.
The big problem is delivery
The magazine itself is the classic Italian puzzle magazine, but the delivery to the U.S. is unreliable--it runs routinely 2 weeks behind, and can go as much as a month before two or three issues show up together.

Great magazine!
I got hooked on this magazine while living in Italy - I'd buy it every week without fail! Good crosswords, comics and brainteasers will keep you occupied and will help you if you're brushing up on your italian.(However, you should have a pretty good grasp of the language before attempting any of the puzzles)

Second best but not bad
FourFourTwo is full of ads and reflects the corporate side of our national game. The interviews are often anodyne and it tends to concentrate on the big clubs. When Saturday Comes is better reflecting football culture in all its various forms, unfortunately you'll have to search for it stateside. That said, this is ok and, in the land of the ball game, it must be manna from heaven.

England 2006
Being from Montana you always get the best football news or football for that matter. I am forced to rely on 442 and never am I dissapointed. From news of trades, fights or simply Sir Bobby Robson's take on the latest news you can't go wrong with this magazine.

The Best Football Magazine
I lived in England until I came out to the States a few years ago. I had a subscription to this magazine then, and I depend on it even more now. For someone addicted to the REAL football in a town like Cincinnati isn't easy- but this magazine is like you're back in England. The magazine
This is the only music magazine you ever need to read. This is what Rolling Stone should aspire to be. There is really nothing more to say than if you like music this is all there is.

It was great while it lasted....
I am a big fan of this magazine, but even more so of the "free" cd--when it is good, it is very good.So I finally subscribed despite the stiff price.Two issues came, I was happy, then a third without the cd, and then...no more.After many calls and complaints, Amazon finally secured a partial refund--not exactly what I wanted.Here's hoping that the delivery problems can be worked out--maybe an opaque wrapper?

Great content but delivery is problematic
As far is the writing is concerned this is a top notch rock magazine. The format is appealing and the pages are not marred by one too many ads. Another plus is the CD that comes with each issue ; this might help justify the cost. The original CD's are priceless with real gems that the average music listener may not have heard of.They choose a theme and run with it, creating an eclectic mix of artists to illustrate their theme.Take for example a few months back when it was legendary tracks from Studio One in Jaimaca where it featured little known artists among reggae afficionados like Ernest Ranglin, Michiganand Smiley next to giants like Bob Marley, The Skatalites for a complete view of the important record label of reggae. I really enjoy the monthly features including tributes to those that passed away in the month entitled"Real Gone." Old rock stars are going faster than they did in the seventies! Other good features are the brief reviews of music indexed as Filter reissues, reissues extra, tracks,buried treasurean just plain Filter Albums(current stuff). The in depth articles of the cover subject are very entertaining and what actually drew me to Mojo intiallyfor information. There is one draw back for US subsrcibers, it is a long way acros the pond and problems will occurr. In the last year my problems have been as follows: was receiving my issues two weeks after the stores had copies, missing CD's. To their credit both problems were solved in spite of having to send three issues so that I would finally get my ripped off CD,it was stole twice! Subscriber beware. Sending it in clear plastic with the words CD inside is just an invitation to a thief. Otherwise it is maybe the best rock music magazine out there and I defintely recommend the Brits perspective. ... Read more

High Quality Review of F1
This British magazine is a little (well, more than a little)pricey but it's an excellent, high quality review of F1 events, people, and races. It arrives in the US about one race late -- so it's not the best place to get the "news," but the editorial staff does a great job staying on top of current F1 developments, rule changes, driver changes, and other controversies, so it still feels very current.

Sophisticated but Practical
Like most women in the UK, Vogue features fashion that is low-maintenance and stylish. Unlike the US, French, Italian mags, the British edition is for the true brit: easy, fun, casual fashion that is practical for every day life. The only problem is they tend to feature Kate Moss on the cover WAY too much.

Better than its American counterpart by a long shot!
I picked up a copy of British Vogue when I had finished reading my American Vogue for the month, interested in the British Vogue and its take on fashion, plus I've had subscriptions to British magazines in the past and was impressed with them.There are many, many things that set this magazine apart from American Vogue.First, this magazine's main focus is fashion.They devote more space to models than celebrities, socialites, or noblility types.They don't only focus on the high and unreachable fashions but also feature more affordable clothing (granted, its mostly at British stores, but the thought counts) . The articles in British Vogue are more educated, and they cover more ground.Another thing I really liked was that this magazine not only shows fashions and trends but also shows you HOW to put them together, what mixes with what, and what you should be looking at getting.They also talk about staple pieces in this magazine, how and where to buy those.This magazine also has a pride for country that you don't see in the U.S. anymore which is a breath of fresh air.The snootiness of American Vogue, the parading around couture only, the $900 first night sets and whatnot are left out of this magazine.It almost seems like this magazine is more practical than its American counterpart.Lastly, this magazine is of higher quality, with full, glossy pages, a glossy cover, and is overall about 2 inches bigger all the way around than its American counterpart. This magazine is very, very good, I just wish a subscription were more affordable.

British Vogue is an absolute top-notch publication that I would recommend to anyone who is seeking a fashion magazine that is truly about fashion.So much more interesting than its American counterpart, I adore and await nearly each issue that is released (naturally, as with any magazine, there are always months [usually January and July] that are not as stellar as the others).The editorials are almost consistently cutting-edge and the covers still feature models much of the time, as opposed to actresses each and every month.It really does celebrate Britain but it always has an eye on other parts of the globe.The paper on which this magazine is printed is also lovely - always heavy and nice to the touch - and of course the cover is glossy (unlike the matte American Vogue covers that the subscribers are left with).And the occasional "Catwalk Specials" supplements are great - covering so many different shows and "trends" - all smartly laid out.Read more

Reason for the high price
The high price is predominately due to the shipping costs as this magazine is produced in the United Kingdom.A subscription over there runs about twenty bucks.However, even with the added expense to get this delivered stateside, iCreate is a great looking magazine with excellent editorials.
Phantom Magazine
Great magazine couldn't recommend it any higher for anyone starting out with macs. iCreate also introduced a great Pro section in 2005 to delveinto the workings of ProApps such as Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, mDVD Studio Pro etc. Now here's the thing, I'm wondering how the magazine can be available for subscription while the magazine was put on hold late last year. Me, or anyone I know with a subscription haven't recieved the mag for months, and there has been no contact from the people who handle thesubscription despite zillions of e-mails.
