5-0 out of 5 stars This mag........
.....ROCKS!!!!! First thing, I am not a kid, but it is quicker to use this option. Aaanyways...this magazine is amazing. It features a very wide range of bands, but not in an annoying way. I mean, if you were into death metal and it kept having loads of punk, that would be annoying, and vice versa. There are so many different parts to it....and check out Pandora, the rockin cartoon with the rockin star and her HOT dreadlocked sidekick Wek.....lol!
5-0 out of 5 stars the standard by which all others should be measured
Absolutely brilliant magazine- shame the U.S. does not have an equivalent.Very well-written and informative; I've found out about more bands through this mag than any other I've read. Much more professional than its American counterparts (Metal Edge, Circus, etc).Covers all sorts of metal/rock bands, from Linkin Park to Slayer. This is a British weekly magazine- not a monthly- so the cost is high but well worth it if you can afford it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatest rock magazine
Kerrang! is by far the most informative rock magazine that has ever been published!I can count on Kerrang! to get the best interviews, be up to date, and get the facts straight from the mouths of the musicians. Its a hard to find magazine in the US, but if you can spare the money it is well worth your dollar if your intereseted in the world of hard rock. They also cover a wide range of bands that the US wouldn't even touch, and are always turning you on to new music with free CDs. ... 'The International Jerusalem Post' is a condensed version of what is arguably the best daily newspaper in Israel. The 'Post' has a strong editorial line in support of the state of Israel, and its Jewish values.

4-0 out of 5 stars I've liked what I've seen
Dazed & Confused is a British "art/lifestyle/youth subculture" magazine. It started as a fanzine in London and has grown into a well rounded monthly glossy (and an expensive one at that). It is the lynchpin of the magazine publishing group that does "Annual" (retro culture) "Another Magazine" "Intersection" (about car culture), and "Rank".Dazed always has pretty good photographers, you'll usually laugh at least once if you read the articles, and they manage to cover a lot of ground without being too pretentious.I haven't been a dedicated follower of this magazine mostly because it's hard to find in the US., however I love magazines in general, and this is definitely one of the best - the style : intelligence ratio is usually pretty high on this one. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Anna : Burda Knitting & Needlecrafts - English Ed
Knitters take note:I purchased what was titled as "Anna:Burda Knitting & Needlecrafts-English Ed".What arrived was "Anna Needlework and Crafts," which contains very little knitting.
5-0 out of 5 stars Anna Needlework magazine
I've collected this magazine for many years. the content is excellant with many projects for many different levels of experience. I also liked seeing how women of Europe and the U.K. decorate their homes during the different seasons and holidays. Anna magazine is deliteful for both the seasoned needlewoman or the absolute beginer. It is just so much fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have
Absolutely wonderful magazine. I count the days until every new issue. It offes beautiful patterns for a variety of needlework styles. In every issue it always has knitting section, a couse that introduces you to a new type of needlework (or refreshes you in one that you already tried), a monthly picture in cross stitch (a sampler type, this year it is "the trades"). 5-0 out of 5 stars Great magazine, but don't buy it here
This is a fascienating read. Every week, it offers insightful, absorbing information; and, because it is British magazine, it reports on the UK, Europe, the US, indeed, the whole world (while many US magazines are content to focus on America).
5-0 out of 5 stars pack leader in this field
This magazine is rarely noticed in US bookstores, and is a discovery I am proud of. Unlike other scientific magazines where you find yourself asking, "does the writer understand what he is saying" , NS is very refreshing and clear-headed. As other reviewers have noted, their range is amazing but they have a soft-corner for the modern biological sciences. And it is true, they are aggresively liberal. But if you subscribe to the conservative Economist, they do make a handsome pair.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Brits do it again
Why is it that the English write the best weekly news magazine, The Economist, and the best weekly science magazine, New Scientist? Reading all these English magazines is wreaking havoc on my American spelling ability. The breadth of topics in New Scientist is remarkable, and the articles are pertinent, useful, and very enjoyable to read. If you're a scientist, read Scientific American. Everyone else, read New Scientist. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Guilty Pleasure That I'm Proud To Read
When I was living in London last year I randomly came upon heat and was INSTANTLY addicted. My flatmates and I would go back and forth between buying it week after week. I couldn't wait for Tuesday to role around so I could get the next issue. heat not only has great paparrazi photos, but it's hilarious. Whoever the writers are, they're genius. I love the sense of humor and teasing of celebrities. I especially love that they don't validate celebs for getting increasingly skinny and unhealthy, such as every American counterpart does.

5-0 out of 5 stars Read the Best
I think that Heat is the best magazine out there.I religously buy it every Tuesday when I'm in England, and when I'm back in the states, I make my boyfriend go through the embarassment of buying it and have him send it to me.The best thing about it though, is they don't sugar coat the stories. They tell it like it is, or show it like it is!By far my favorite celeb mag from any country!

5-0 out of 5 stars Once a week is not enough!
Heat has got to be the best goss magazine ever!I've never really enjoyed People or any of those crap American magazines at the checkout of virtually every supermarket.Brit celebs are so much more interesting! After my very first issue, I was hooked. The pics, the gossip, the headlines, the stories.....I read it cover-to-cover in one sitting! And I wanted MORE!Heat, you just cannot put down.Once I get a new issue, I don't even know where to start. There are so many juicy headlines...which one do I read first? Then I have to wait an entire week until I can get my hands on the next one..... ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Insight
Into the world of Ancient Egypt, if you are interested in this ancient civilisation, then this is the mag for you. Packed with full colour pics and detailed explanations of the world of the pharaohs, this bi-monthly mag has lept me fascinated since it first appeared 4 years ago.

5-0 out of 5 stars Discover a different world
'Ancient Egypt' takes you into a different world - of pharoahs and mummies and mysterious Gods. I have to confess I wasn't really into all this stuff before but the way in which this magazine conveys the Egyptian mindset is unique and it's not all about the pyramids! Great mag, buy it and feed your imagination. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My daugher looks forward to receiving Chickadee
We started with a subscription to Chirp for my daughter which she loved. Now that she is older, she receives Chickadee. When the magazine comes in the mail, she stops to read it from cover to cover. Well worth it! I now give subscriptions as a gift for birthdays.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's My Daughter's Favorite!
My daughter has been reading ChickaDee for several years. We generally don't buy magazines, but each time we went to the library, she chose this one from a selection of 20+ others that target children. Because it is one of her favorite things to read, I'm caving-in this year and purchasing it as a Christmas present. ChickaDee is not only educational, but it is highly entertaining and appeals to a nice age-range, particularly for 6 and 7-year-olds who may have outgrown the preschool magazines but are not quite old enough for magazines that target the intermediate grades. As a former teacher, I also recommend this magazine for classroom, silent-reading use.It contains loads of interesting educational content. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A Gem
Gramaphone is a very necessary tool for every lover and or collector of classical recorded music, especially for anyone who dreams of owning special recordings. This magazine carries brillant reviews of new releases; also there is commentary on legendary recordings. (These older recordings may occasionally be released on budget labels.)
4-0 out of 5 stars Don't like the last redesign
Gramophone has been published in England and elsewhere going back to the days of 78s and the gramophone, and it is still one of the leading classical music and equipment publications in the world. I'd say it is pretty easily the most expensive, too.
5-0 out of 5 stars From the other side of the pond
GRAMOPHONE has been around as long as recordings have been available, informing the public about the new releases, providing cogent, intelligent reviews, giving the UK/European outlook on things musical, and in general being the bible for music review magazines. In recent years it has added interviews with living composers and artists and others involved in music and in doing so it has been able to secure its position on the newsstands and in subscriptions when everyone seems to be ignoring the printed word and opting for ezines.Yes the price of the magazine is high, but the quality of writing is also high. And may it never come to a point when all of our information about the arts is relegated to the computer. It is nice to have journals of this quality to read, re-read, and to at times save for personal libraries when such articles as those about John Adams come 'round. This is a journal worth the price! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars gloriously beautiful magazine
I've been a subscriber for a few years, and always eagerly devour the issue from cover to cover. It sends me back to England every other month, and for the hour or two that it takes me to read it, I couldn't be happier.Sometimes I find wonderful gardening information that applies to my small, urban CA garden, but the beautifully written articles and glorious color photographs would keep me enthralled anyway.Don't be put off by the review posted that said there was no way to reach anyone about a missing subscription.First, given that it is only published every other month, and the delay in getting things back and forth over the Atlantic, it isn't too surprising that there could be a few month delay in beginning a new subscription. But there IS a phone number (...) and email address (...) for their US distributor, The British Connection, which also handles their sister publication, The English Home.I started with the gardening magazine and added the home one about a year later, and I love it just as much.I feel like I've given myself a very special treat whenever one arrives in the mail box, and I've never had a problem with either subscription.Give it a try, they are very special, unique publications! What a lovely gift!

4-0 out of 5 stars Jasmine, peacocks, bluebells
This bimonthly magazine is a wish book for those of us who don't have two full-time gardeners on staff, or a few acres of woods to devote to bluebells, or the ruins of an ancient abbey to train roses against. My Regency ancestors were breaking their backs on hardscrabble New England farms, rather than building follies or planting mazes, or having their grounds landscaped by Capability Brown.
1-0 out of 5 stars Maybe a good magazine - if you can get it
I subscribed in Sept 04 and still have not received any single issue (as of Jan 05). There is no phone number or email address, so the only way to contact them is by mail, only they don't respond. They took my money, and I never heard from them again.
