Multi page story on asphalt? WHO THE F@#K CARES!!!
1-0 out of 5 stars The Secret Life of Asphalt
Should I require more information on asphalt, I'll subscribe to the Practical Paving Newsletter, maybe attend the World of Asphalt 2007 Show & Conference.
2-0 out of 5 stars AND horrible customer service
So I'm mostly with other folks on the content. If you get lucky, the small sampling of product reviews will include some item you're looking at (or should), and the anemic review will prompt you to follow up at the manufacturers website. The "Buyer's Guide" was of decent breadth and useless depth on the bikes. No bikes from Gary Fisher, the inventor of mountain biking.Huh?I'm primarily interested in MTB and the issues of Mountain Bike are good. But, you only get 4 issues, and the content is redundant between the two magazines (or even within each mag). For instance, the May MTB issue had a story on rebuilding trails in Los Alamos (I actually really like their reviews of specific places), and the cover also boasted a "Great American Trail Guide." One of the FOUR trails talked about in this "Great American..Guide":Los Alamos.I can spot a cut and paste job when I see one. Also in that issue "The Bike that Started a Revolution" about the Sp Stumpjumper.A great idea for an interesting article that was butchered into a condescending comic strip. Also, having ordered the mag for the issues of MTB, I was disappointed when they didn't even show up.Emails with customer service resulted in one of the more disappointing "did you not read my email" type exchanges. Two months later, and I now have one of the two missing issues in hand. They have great photography, and I have yet to find a better option, but I'm really disappointed.I won't renew. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Western Magazine!
This is an awesome horse magazine. It's especially helpful for training. I gave it five stars because I think it's great... but It's best for those 1, really into showing, 2, really into Quarter Horses and Paints, and 3, those really into Western. They did have a very helpful and good 'Western Dressage' series by Lynn Palm. It also can be really into showing. So, if you prefer a little English/Western and prefer to just casually trail ride with your Tennessee Walker, this may not be the magazine for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of the west
I subscribe to a LOT of different horse magazines and this one is by far my favorite.Great how-to articles.I also love the profiles they occasionally do on prominent stallions. For the western rider, especially those with an interest in showing, this is the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Flash
I was at the tattoo place at the beginning of 2006, with my sister. While waiting for her tattoo to be completed, I was browsing thru their sorts of magazines.I ran across a page that showed Hello Kitty tattoo art.I LOVE that one.A few months later I returned to find that art so the artist could do this one on me.Unfortunately that mag is now gone.:(
4-0 out of 5 stars yet another great tattoo mag
This is one of the better mags out there. If you are one of the people that doesn't like to read, or can't, than this mag is for you, it doesn't have the informative articles that Tattoo has, this is more of he picture version. It's great for ideas and tattoo artist review.Good mag!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally!
I always enjoyed going grocery shopping with my mom -- while she shopped, I hung out in the magazine section reading Mad, Cracked, and FANGORIA.Now, 25 years later -- I finally got my own subscription -- and unlike retro video games, nostalgic 80's cd's, and Members Only jackets, this is just as good as I remember.
3-0 out of 5 stars The internet will do them in
One of my greatest childhood memories involving horror movies concerns Fangoria magazine. You would think the recollection would have something to do with watching "Friday the 13th" or "Halloween" for the first time, and I do have those memories to keep me warm at night, but my first vivid impression of the shocking power of horror films hit me at the tender age of ten or eleven when I stumbled into the local drugstore and picked up a copy of this magazine. I don't remember what the cover looked like--surely it was one of the grotesque images Fangoria routinely plasters on the front cover that initially caught my eye--but I do recall thumbing through the magazine rather quickly in case the nosy cashier decided a youth of my tender years shouldn't look through such a gruesome publication. Immediately before I sat the magazine back on the rack, my eyes settled on a nauseating color photograph of one of those "axe in the head" effects so common in slasher films of the era. I suspect this still came from footage eventually excised from the theatrical cut, however, because it was far worse than what we usually see. I almost lost my lunch on the spot. Even today, I wish I knew which movie that scene came from.
4-0 out of 5 stars OVER 20 YEARS AND STILL GOING STRONG
You've got to take your hat off to Fangoria.Whether their style of gory, visceral coverage of the horror genre appeals to you or not you can't deny their success. The fact that they've been doing it for 20 years is really a marvel in the world of magazines, let alone genre magazines.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thank you Australia!!
This magazine has given me new fiath in the gay community.Filled with not only images to stimulate your erotic desires for the male form, the articles are extremely well written and very pertenent to today's queer theorist. They address issues such as homophobia in the media to discussing upcoming gay-themed works of art to giving us a glimps into the hisotry of the gay lifestyle, all for the purpose of stimulating the mind and body within one magazine! And of course the pictures are beautiful, but the sense of community it evokes is equally as beautiful. The intellectual artist's response to OUT or INSTINCT magazine, A MUST BUY! Totally worth the money and the wait!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not Just for Queer Coffee Tables
I picked up a copy of Blue in a Border's store in the Art section of magazines because of the stunning cover black-and-white photography. I didn't realize until I started reading that the content is geared for gay men.The art, both photos and other media, are absolutely top-notch, and the articles, not to be cliche, really are excellent. They focus more on art and it's (male) subjects, rather than cultural topics. There's interviews, history of artists, and cutting-edge art, as well as previews of shows, and of course, articles that talk specifically to gay life.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best...
This is simply one of the best movie magazines on the market. You can always be sure to be updated on the latest movies and dvd releases, and it's nice that the crew of Empire doesn't take themselves too seriously; the articles are well written but keeps the humour intact as well, where other movie magazines seem to be too keen on showing how intellectual they are. Unfortunately it's rather expensive here in Denmark, but it's worth the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars TOP MOVIE MAGAZINE - HANDS DOWN
No question. If you followed ALL movie magazines, even the sci-fi and fantasy spin-offs, quick VHS magazines (remember those!) then you should also remember about the time BATMAN premiered (what great movie hype!) Empire Magazine ran its first issue and then the great BATMAN #2 issue and we have not stopped collecting since, nearing issue 200 now as I write this, it has been a good one so far and I am sure will keep up the same pace for all new to the greatest `non-digital' monthly pages on the planet, I urge young and old alike to start collecting and reading now.
5-0 out of 5 stars The greatest movie mag on the planet!
I am a loyal, long time fan of EMPIRE magazine and have collected almost every issue from No.1. Being a British mag, it differentiates itself from others like Premiere and Entertainment Weekly by it's frank dissection of all movies, and provides a wide range of opinion and discussion. I will always read EMPIRE, and If you like movies, you should too. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best freshwater fishing magazine
I read just about everything I can get my hands on and InFisherman is easily the best freshwater multispecies magazine out there.Especially if you tend to fish the Midwest.Heavy on content and light on fluff... lots of good illustrations.
5-0 out of 5 stars In-Formation Galore
In-Fisherman is the most informative fishing magazine out on the market. It contains many indepth articles on a broad range of species. This magazine has helped me develop my fishing techniques and broaden my knowledge on many subjects.I definately recommend In-Fisherman for the experienced and beginner fishermen who wish to increase their knowledge on fishing.

3-0 out of 5 stars Is there enough content?
Can't say I've read this magazine, but, I picked one up as a gift for a family member, and, was quite surpised as to how thin the magazine is.Is there enough articles in there?Do the articles have enough content?I admit that the typical "thicker" magazine has a lot of advertising, hence the thickness, but, I'm willing to bet, there is just as much advertising in the thin In-Fisherman magazine.I guess I won't worry too much...I'm not the one that will be trying to get something out of it, besides the purpose of a "gift" for Christmas. It was on the wish list, so I guess I must. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but there's only so much you can say

5-0 out of 5 stars A very informative magazine for the novitiate and the knowledgeable.
My partner and I led a small group on a cruise (my first; he's a travel agent.) We had subscribed to Cruise Travel for several years and I had always enjoyed looking them over, and then getting to see the ships either in port or getting to do a travel agent tour. On our cruise, unknown to us at the time, were reviewers from Cruise Travel, so we had a nice surprise with the next issue when we got home. They were very thorough and honest and the accompanying pictures were great. I highly recommend the magazine both for an informative review in words and pictures of cruise ships and the ports they visit.

1-0 out of 5 stars it's mostly advertising!
I am surprised to see other subscribers praising this magazine so much! I do not think it is fair to pay$20 for sixvery thinissues overloaded withtravel agents' ads. The "readable portion" is quite informative but miniscule
4-0 out of 5 stars over all nice mag
"Cruise Travel" is a magazine about cruising, and is generally informative and interesting. Though it seems to mainly pertain to an older reading audience and the photos are not always as interesting or as amazing as the other main cruise travel magazine "Porthole" I am generally pleased with the content of the magazine.

I LOVE Vogue living from Australia. I don't know what it is about countries outside of the US but their design sense is more pure and absolutely more creative. This magazine rings all the right bells with me and I have never throw a copy away. 3-0 out of 5 stars Nice magazine, but...
I have been a faithful and enthusiastic Juxtapoz reader for a couple of years now. Itshowcases young, interesting artists, and offers a fresh perspective to those of us tired of the too-often pretentious , too-rarely insipred high brow arts scene. It has relatively little advertising, and most of it is arty and cool so I don't mind it.
4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best art magazines out there for price and value
I love Juxtapoz magazine, it's the best magazine for artists who like alternative or "lowbrow" culture from graffiti, to artists like the Pizz, Mark Ryden, and the editor himself the great Robert Williams "surrealistic" paintings. It used to have said artists showing their techinques about how they go about their work, the only negative is that the book only comes out 6 times a year.

5-0 out of 5 stars You can't go wrong with this one
For an artist interested in an 'outside the norm' art movement, this mag opens the doors to a wealth of imagination. It often features artists like Mark Ryden and Eric White, Shag, Gary Baseman but it also features less known artists too.A definite recommendation. The magazine is colorful, whimsical and always entertaining.
