5-0 out of 5 stars Muscle And Fitness
Great magazine. They got good tips on everything. Eating/Building Muscle/Sheddin excess fat/ All that. Recommend this mag to body builders. I get it every month. Good stuff.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very pretty, but does it work
The pictures are nice, the show results current; but the information and products are as dated as Joe and Ben, themselves.

4-0 out of 5 stars Some need to read and just not look at the titles and pics
Muscle and fitness is a decent magazine.its like most all else out there.a bit slim, but good articles beyond just working out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Global travel, Ecotourism, Out-of-the-ordinary info
What I love most about this travel magazine is the out-of-the-ordinary information it provides within a particular destination. Although primarily geared towards $$$$$+ destinations, the editors do a great job with providing more than just great hotel info. In the September 2006 edition, there is the 12 th annual Green List which details the best places in ecotourism - preserving earth's environment and cultures while traveling to the destinations that are simultaneously earth and people friendly. It happens to be a great magazine, well researched, well written, and informative while delivering unique information.
1-0 out of 5 stars It takes at least 4 months to arrive!
I ordered this as a gift subscription on May 10.
4-0 out of 5 stars Travels of the Rich
Conde Nast Traveler is a magazine for the wealthy or the want-a-bees.The magazine is geared mostly to North America and Europe. It tells where to eat, shop or be seen on the two continents. For example, an article will inform the reader of a new five-star Sushi restaurant in Florence, Italy. Thus, if you plan to travel to Florence for Sushi (not Michelangelo), this is the magazine for you.It is a great coffee table magazine for the armchair traveler, for the pictures are gorgeous.

4-0 out of 5 stars There's gold here ~ you just have to look for it...
I live in one of the "Red States" in the deep south. Therefore, unfortunately, quality yoga instruction and teaching is very hard to find. But, fortunately, Yoga Journal is delivered to my area, providing most of the yogic wisdom and learning that I have received through the years. However I agree with other readers, I don't care for the ads for cars and cellulite cream ~ (who needs cellulite cream btw when you have a regular yoga practice?) I also do not care for the models they use is this publication, most of them look like adolescent girls who have just come from the Senior Prom! There are a few exceptions here when they do a feature on Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest or one of the Iyengar family members but for the most part, this gives a misconception that yoga is just for young, skinny women, what a shame.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Yoga Magazine Out There
This is just the best Yoga Magazine out there.Articles cover all areas and are suitable for the practioner as well as the teacher.I've learned so much from the magazine, and enjoy reading the human interest articles too.

3-0 out of 5 stars So so
Good articles, BUT too many advertisment. The first time I read this magazine was 1 year ago, and the difference with the increase in adds is big. It is annoying to go thru a magazine and have the feeling that you saw more adds than articles, and you just flip a page, and an ad, next page an ad, etc.

1-0 out of 5 stars worst of the biker rags
gave it a 1, just because it had bikes in the rag, but seriously this rag is close to kiddie porn,if you really want a v-twin biker mag, check out American-Iron,Us Rider News [formally Dixie-Rider],and HotRodsBikeWorks mag.you won't be disappointed in any of these three. but stay away from easyriders unless your more into kiddie porn than bikes.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a good take on the lifestyle.
Your mom may not like this magazine but thats the apeal.I got to reading it over seas and I have to say it is the best bike magazine I have ever read it has T and A and hot bikes. But it is not just that if it new and cool and for you bike they got that to.It just has every thing need.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Warlock Biker Sez:
I enjoy the cool bikes and hot witches that Easyriders has to offer. Another good selection to put in granny's donut house (the bathroom) ,is the 1% favorite, "Outlaw Biker." Both these magazines are old school and way kewl, in my book. But do not just believe reviews pick up a copy of either of these great magazines and decide for yourself. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting Patterns, Excellent Tutorials
I've now read 4 issues of this magazine and found several projects in each one.For beginners, the tutorials about the special techniques used in each project are especially helpful, and they make a quick review for more-experienced knitters. The 'learn to knit' section in the back of each issue is nearly as comprehensive as many standalone knitting-basics booklets. The projects in each issue's theme are generally diverse, with some patterns being attractive to more traditional or experienced knitters and others appealing to newer or more trend-conscious knitters.

5-0 out of 5 stars Go ahead and order-you deserve it!
What a refreshing change to the hum drum knitting magazine. Yes it's a little expensive compared to American magazines, but it's similar to the difference between watching an American movie and a British film. Buy yourself a single copy, sit back with a cup of tea (with milk in it of course!) and enjoy! You'll want the subscription. See what I mean ? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cottage, Not Country -- Style Galore
Finally a magazine that knows cottage. Cottage isn't country, although it can have some of those elements. It isn't necessarily small, but it can be. It doesn't necessarily mean old, though it can be. Country can be modern and hip or antique and traditional. Above all, it's casual and comfortable. It's a place you want to come home to. It's a feel, an ambiance, a flair for putting things together that don't come in room-to-go packages from furniture store decorators. I especially like the various styles presented in each issue -- ultra modern, traditional, log cabin, seaside, California contemporary, etc. and the monthly comparison of styles in one furniture grouping. It allows you to grab ideas from the entire spectrum of cottage style and to mix and match for yourself. I also like how easy the how-to advice is to follow. From paint advice to luscious gardens to interesting food, this magazine has it all. The accompanying website is great. Products and paints are easy to find. I've banished all the other decorating magazines from my subscription list.

5-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't everyone want a cottage?
This is my favorite home/decorating/architecture magazine of all time.Perhaps it is a fortuitous coincidence, but "Cottage Living" always features homes in areas of the country that are very interesting to me - like the Adirondacks, Boulder CO, Arlington VA, Asheville NC and New Orleans. The editors have a good understanding of cottage admirers and their interests. Therefore, they include floor plans, before & after pictures, and brief back-stories that give us a glimpse into the life of the cottages and of their inhabitants.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for 11~13 year olds.
I'm now 15 and I use to read GL. I started reading it when I was about 12 and I hade no problem with it!!!
4-0 out of 5 stars Good For Teens
I'm 13 and I started subscribing to Girls Life when I was just 11. Just to let parents know, even though I subscribed to the magazine at eleven doesn't necessarily mean it's made for that age group. In fact, I found crude language, older fashions and relationship advice in it. Still, I never told my mother because I wanted to continue subscribing. The good part is, if you have an older daughter around 13 and up, I recommend this magazine to you. It's great with the makeup tips and life advice. It also has true life articles that I find inpsiring. If you're still hesitant and feel up to it, go to your local grociery store and check the magazine out yourself.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good..
Girls Life is great to me, but I'm being considerate of all you parents out there. This magazine is not geared for 10-12 year olds like the magazine claims, more for young women in their teens. It's just a normal, old fashioned teen magazine like Seventeen and CosmoGirl!. Now that you know it's relatable to those types of magazines, you know what this magazine is all about. Makeup, clothes, relationships, etc. That's enough to say. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential
I spent several years in the tv/movie industry. The Hollywood Reporter was required reading everywhere I worked--from the small, peripheral businesses to the major studios. Most people subscribe to both the Hollywood Reporter and Variety. If you can afford it, by all means subscribe to both. But if you're one of the millions trying to break into the business, you must read at least one, and, in my opinion, the Hollywood Reporter is the one to get. For one thing, the traditional magazine size makes it easier to handle than Variety's "newspaper" style. For another, the Hollywood Reporter just seems to provide more news and better writing (Variety uses an obnoxious shorthand--e.g., "prexy" for president; "pic" for movie (picture)). Finally, the Hollywood Reporter may be boring compared to Entertainment Weekly, but a trade publication that covers the entertainment industry is still a lot more exciting than one covering, say, the logging industry.

3-0 out of 5 stars For people in the business
Hollywood Reporter is not for the layman. It's a business magazine dealing with the deals of Hollywood, the numbers and profit. It's still interesting, but it's not for everyone. I tried a trial of the magazine and they would arrive a few days later. The July 8th issue arrived on July 11th. Yesterday's news is old news.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Entertainment Industry Resource
If you're interested in going beyond the gossip and into the mechanics of the entertainment industry, then the Hollywood Reporter is for you.It covers television, film, video games, music and more.Find out about the latest business deals, contracts, technology and trends in the industry.I recommend this newspaper for anyone in (or wanting to break in) to the professional end of the entertainment industry. If you're looking for more consumer-friendly entertainment news, I recommend Entertainment Weekly. If you're looking for information about celebrity life, I recommend People or US Weekly. ... Cote Sud is a compilation of the loveliest magazine pages you'll ever see.It covers southern French houses, gardens, hotels, restaurants and decorating, as well as beautiful travel articles of places outside France. It is so beautifully photographed that I find myself going back over and over the issues for continuing inspiration.Because it is shipped from France it takes awhile to arrive but it is always delightful and well worth the wait.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is what a guitar mag should look and sound like
I agree with the other reviewers who point out the many useful music tools in this mag. The UK is where English started so if you like literate writers rather than being pitched to like an 8 year old you'll like this magazine. My gripes are that I can buy them at big box bookstores for pennies more than the subscription rate. The price fluctuates with market $ vs Pound/Euro and the delivery time for the 1st issue is 12 to 16 weeks! The stores get them faster. So if they had a better subscription deal and faster delivery I would definitely subscribe. Besides anyone that calls a tube a valve and a wrench a spanner is okay in my book.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's all about the music
I've been buying guitar magazines since 1990 and have a collection of hundreds of them. This one is the best! It has always been good, but these days I think it stands out from the crowd even more. I've seen magazines start out good, full of useful information and sheet music, then plunge to the depths of crappy industry gossip and little else. These guys have kept a strong loyalty to the musicians who wanna play, rather than the ones who care about image and nothing much else.
5-0 out of 5 stars A modular music library
Most guitar magazines seem to be heavy on discussion of artists but light on actual music. GT still talks about artist's styles, but then gives you the tab and standard notation for one of their works or a class on how to solo in their style. A standard issue contains sections like rock, jazz, acoustic fingerstyle, Funk and country, followed by workshops on (for eg.) using altered tunings, increasing fretting speed, and other interesting things.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars King magazine: Mirror for the real world!
I love this magazine(not because of the big ole booty's), because of the way they present the ladies. I have never seen a cover of King showing some skinny, no meat eating, starving her self to death type chic! They show real women, with real shapes. It shows how women look in the real world! I love it, and yeah I must admit, I do love the big ole booty's!! Sorry Ladies, I am a man! LoL!

4-0 out of 5 stars Dubs and Dimes
I love King magazine! With that said the only thing I would change is the ratio of beautiful ladies to Rim advertisements. You have to flip through several pages of bling before getting to the "meat" of the magazine and the reason I bought it in the first place. I do have to say that I am impressed with how they make it a true mens magazine for people with "exotic" tastes and not a generic magazine with hot girls. BUY IT!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth a penny...
This is the worst magazine I have ever subscribed too.I hated it so much after the first issue that when new ones came, I thru it right in the trash. Here why:
4-0 out of 5 stars Professionals and Competitors
I love this magazine mainly because I am a figure and fitness competitor. It has great tips.If you are not competitor and just love to workout, this magazine is for you, too! You will get motivated by every article and meal plans! I do not recommend magazine for individuals who are just looking to get toned and not to cut body fat to supreme low levels.Oxygen can at times overly advertise the supplements. I used to get Shape magbut I did not like the models in that mag. They looked way too small to be advertising fitness.I highly recommend this mag for those individuals are INTERSTED IN COMPETITIONS!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good read but don't bother subscribing.
Based on the reviews I read here, I purchased Oxygen and loved it.I signed up for a subscription that day.Two months later I have not received my first issue; but, I have received three "payment due" notices and customer service claims two issues have been mailed out to me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Magazine, Information Packed
I would highly recommend this magazine to anyone that has had weight loss surgery or just researching it.I was surprised at the amount of information!I can relate to so many of the articles and now that I'm over a year post-op, it's really helping me stay on track.Excellent Magazine!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good but not worth the money. FIXED INCOME!
When I first started looking into having WLS, I bought all kinds of books, magazines etc. I got ahold of a copy of WLS Lifestyles and read it cover to cover.I really got a lot out of it, but felt it was too expensive when there were SO MANY ads. And because I am on a LOW income I just couldn't come up with the 25.00. Then I found Obesity Help.com or as it is called now OH.com. It was $5.00 cheaper and they gave me a discount. So ended up getting two years. It also has lots of advertising but excellant personal stories and experience. I had my surgery on Feb 21st 2006. And I am doing great. So far have lost almost 40lbs.It is the BEST thing I have ever done. I just wish info etc.wasn't so expensive.Lots of info on the internet. Everything above are totally my opinions. I loved what I found in the one magazine from WLS Lifestyles. Anyone considering having this procedure read and talk anything and everything you can. Lot's of different ideas and opinions. A lot of Dr.s have web sites too..

3-0 out of 5 stars Too Many Advertisements & Poor Recipes
The articles on emotions after WLS are enlightening - so many times I say "OHMYGOD, that's ME!"

3-0 out of 5 stars Owning and Caring for Horses
Horse Illustrated is a monthly magazine designed to appeal mostly to horse owners and to those who have an avid interest in horseback riding, horse care and maintenance, and other related subjects. This publication covers a wide range of topics like care for horses, selecting a breed, finding the best boarding, horse health care, and more. The magazine offers a large number of topics each month that cover the essentials of equine care and most of these are pretty good in covering the basics necessities to keep horses looking and feeling their best. These articles, while not always very in- depth, are generally good and they make the magazine worth reading for the horse owner.
3-0 out of 5 stars Okay magazine
I read some of the other reviews and was very intruiged. Yes, the photography is wonderful. But... if you are an amateur horseback rider, getting Horse Illustrated's book, Caring for Your Horse, or English Riding, or Buying a Horse, etc. would be a lot smarter than ordering this magazine. In a year's subscription, I found two really helpful articles. Some would start out great... and then just meander around and not give much info. There is also a lot more about horse care in here, and not much about riding/training. You could get a book for the price of this magazine and learn tons more.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Magazine for Horse Owners
Horse Illustrated is the largest equine publication in America and it serves a great audience--the novice horse owner. It is both entertaining and informative. And it is written for an adult audience, not for "younger riders" as some are saying. It's sister publication, "Young Rider" IS. To the person who wrote in about not having any depth: well, Equus on average has only four features per issue! And you know what one of them was this month? An indepth article on photographs of kids on ponies! Like that's useful? And Horse Journal is boring--unless you want to read pedantic article after article on 87 saddle pads or 55 liniments.
