Time Warp
I enjoy the magazine as a whole.But if you want current information on the UFC, Pride or any of the other MMA organizations the internet is a much better resoource.I just read the April issue of Grappling (Today is March 17) and the articles all were about fights coming in December.Which made a lot of the articles seem very dated.

Part how-to, part sport coverage, part schlock
Grappling magazine tries to wear many hats. With regular features by such grappling greats Kid Peligrio and Royler Gracie, they offer great general training advice. Every month, they carry articles with interviews and techniques from top competitors around the globe (Gokor, Tito, JJ, BJ Penn). Some of the techniques are great. Some... not so much so, in that they seem awkward, impractical, or very poorly photographed/described. They also feature coverage of open grappling (NAGA, Grappler's Quest), BJJ, and freestyle/greco wrestling. Sports Illustrated gives grapplers no love, but Grappling tries to pick up the slack.Read more

Occasional outstanding reviews marred by British chauvinist quirkiness
It seems almost sacriligeous to find fault with the TLS which for many is a kind of book-review Bible. But whencompared to other book- review venues including the NY Times Bookreview and the NY Review of Books, I find it somehow chauvinistically British and narrowly focused. I also must admit to not liking the skimpy look of the journal.

clearly written and substantive
Having given a look at all the American magazines on the market which, over time, rehash the same things over and over in a dumbed down way, I was given a copy of Practical PHotography.It blows the competition out of the water for substance and style.

Good techical and gear overview
Good magazine if you like to do equipment comparisons and film comparisons.As well there is photo tips that are practical and intresting. Use to be the best, now it's at the bottom.
Throughout the 90's, this was THE best photography magazine on the planet.I probably have every issue from the 90's and for many years had a subscription.I practically learned photography through this mag.However, since the calendar turned to the 2000's, this magazine has slipped considerably, almost off the face of the photographic scene.I dropped my subscription, and now I am lucky if I buy one issue a year if something I see in it catches my eye at the newstand.Read more

Best magazine I've seen for women in their forties, and thirty's and fifty's. Its just great!

"More" is truly LESS! A case of arrested development in zines.
I had very high hopes for this magazine, but alas. It seems to me that via their editorial content and their fashion pictorials that their TRUE message is:If you really want to feel good about being in your 40s or 50s, you had better keep looking like you're still in your 20s!
Magazine Junkie
I love magazines. Always have. It was the one thing my mom allowed herself as an extra, even though she was very frugal in everything else. I read a lot of magazines, but have never felt like actually reviewing one until MORE. If you are over 40, or even close, you'll love this magazine. It not only features but celebrates the beauty in women as they grow older and wiser. The articles are inspiring, the pictures of the models are real, and it never fails to surprise me in each issue with some article about women who rise above their circumstances with grace. Take the issue about women who survived breast cancer. Not unusual for an article, you say. But how many magazines actually show these beautiful women post-mastectomy nude from the waist up and gorgeous and not ashamed of their body. I loved the woman who tatooed the scar and made something beautiful out of it. If you want a magazine you'll read, read again, and hate to throw away, this is it. I love it. It's better than O! ... Fallen stars
This magazine used to be a lot better but ever since James Miegs left it has fallen on hard times.Glenn Kenny runs the place now, and the whole magazine seems to basically be his personal property.They focus more on commercial movies like The Dukes of Hazzard instead of higher brow fare the way they once did.Their articles are not as well written as they once were.Everything has gotten worse intead of better.
Premiere
I placed oreder on 6/22 got first issue on 7/21 which was ok, but, got the June issue which was far outdated and still no July issue even though August is nearly out on stands.

Continues to get better
While I've always enjoyed Premiere, I really feel like this magazine has become better than ever at what it does.

JANE - Love it!!
I love JANE mag these days! It's like a total bible for my life - the fashion is so cute and I can actually afford the stuff in there! It's got so much color and energy - I was inspirired by every page. No articles on diets or how to plz men. I want to hang and go shopping with all the writers and girls in the magazine - cool smart chicks who still love fashion :) No other women's magazine has such cool pages on beauty, all the others write about botox, but JANE doesn't do that. And love the "pranks" - the world needs to laugh a little more!

Jane rocks
This magazine is my absolute favorite, I feel like the editors are people I'd actually be friends with. I also check out French mags like Jalouse for their fashion and JANE feels more like that than a typical American mag. The music reviews are right on, a great mix of indy and pop. Not Just For Brides
I'm not married, not engaged, not even with someone. Actually, I have no desire to be married ever, but I buy a copy of Brides maybe twice a year. I find it to really help me out for all the formal occasions I have to attend, including weddings. I like the dress ideas in there and the little things that I tend to want to see like the latest Kitchen Aid Mixer and all that kind of stuff. An Argentine friend of mine introduced hello to me about ten years ago. This mag sets itself apart from others and I had no idea that it existed, being a magazine freak myself.
HELLO MAGAZINE
I ordered HELLO on Jan.10,2005 through Amazon for my wife.She has not rec'd an issue since July,2005. Neither the magazine nor Amazon has succeeded in restarting deliveries and compensating her for the missed issues. In view of the $266 subscription rate I find this to be irresponsble.

GREAT magazine.

Good Accompaniment for WW Program
My favorite feature by far in WW magazine is the personal success stories. Years ago, they only featured a few "losers," but now each issue contains 6-8 of the inspirational accounts. The magazine only takes a few minutes to read, and the level of health and fitness information it contains is basic, but if you need a little push in the motivation department every now and again, subscribe!

Worthwhile for diet and nutrition newbies
WW magazine is one of the best for those wanting sound and sensible advice on adopting a healhty lifestyle.The articles are well written and accessible, though at times a bit on the basic side.It's perfect for the clueless or confused and frustrated with all the diet hoopla.

Tons of Tidbits
There are very few serious articles in this magazine-- just tons of tidbits (stats/facts/tips). By the time you get to the end it's difficult to recall anything from the magazine; it's that shallow.
The Magazine Diva says.......
Prevention is a magazine anyone can benefit from with great ideas on easy lifestyle changes. On the flip they are not very specific, although geared more toward a female audience. Some issues are excellent and some are average, but always informative and positive, never condesending.

Tidbits
I love this magazine. It is EASY reading and what you read is easy to digest. There are so many tidbits of information that I find so useful. It makes me want to live a healthier life, and also have a healthier family. Since subscribing to it, I find that I have changed the way I do a lot of things. Playgirl isn't what it used to be- Try CFNM
For years I loved this magazine because of it's depiction of straight men as the objects of women's affection in beautiful and erotic ways. It has since gone down hill a little. But a great alternative I would suggest is the genre of CFNM. This is where women enjoy naked men, but the women always stay clothed. Often the men are jocks, business executives or police officers, men in power who are made into objects the women (and men) can enjoy.

Great Photography
Different people buy this for different reasons. I buy it for the great photography that actually ends up in client's hands. Really good stuff. Even though it is international, much of it is generic and the text is English. Nice large format, printed very well, with line cuts near the binding reminding you that you can cut the pages out and use them for reference. Good for the professional and the hobbyist. Pick up a copy and consider a subscription. Good stuff.

Reading this magazine is like opening a fascinating jewel box. Full of incredible layouts of unique homes, accompanied by inspiring DIY pages.
