5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Conservative Journal Currently
During last year's election year, I subscribed to three conservative journals (National Review, The Weekly Standard, and The American Conservative). The best part about the three was how different they were from each other.TWS in my opinion, was the magazine for the neo-conservatives (a crowd I am not a member of).NR champions the current Republican platform yet is backed up with some excellent writers.TAC, on the other hand offers traditional conservatism. Not exactly for everyone (The only person to endorse Bush in 2004 from the magazine was it's co-founder, Pat Buchanan, who is one of his harsher critics on the right). What makes it so great is that the articles offer conservative critique that may win over more liberals than conservatives at the end of the day.I myself, am not always in agreement with the articles I read. The columns from Pat Buchanan and Taki are worth reading by those on either side of the political spectrum.I recomend this one over NR and TWS but those who like a variety of conservative opinion should explore all three.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Real Face of America's Conservative Movement
If you are emabarrassed by the low level intellects, the loud mouthed chicken hawks, and the globalist sell-outs who claim to speak for conservative America, you will find comfort twice a month in this fine magazine. There are no dumbed down articles, no childish insults and no old-left idealogy repackaged to look like conservative thought.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fine Paleo-Conservative Bi-Weekly
Up until recently, I was highly ambivalent about this magazine.Although I consider myself a paleo-conservative, it has published a number of articles (in less recent issues, particularly), well, that have rubbed me the wrong way. However, recently - in a single issue, in fact - it published three of the best articles, book reviews, and reminiscences that I've read in at least the last year.

4-0 out of 5 stars Richmond City
The citizens of Richmond was desperately asking and voted for a mayor who would change things for the better. And they got him. However Mayor Wilder has had to fight for it.I don't totally agree with all of his budget cuts however I do agree with the performing arts center not having their deadline extended. The money as Mr.Wilder requested to be returned to the city would help give the Richmond Public School system yhe needed money they need for t heir schools. To me the education of a child is more important at this time.Such a center can be built at a later date. What's the rush.I'm disappointed in Mr.Loupassi's behavior in this matter. He fights low. When Mr.Wilder took office his staff should at that time been scutinized. The timing of this gives me the impression this is away of striking back at the mayor. It is childish and mean. The perception of this new coucil has been positive. But if behavior such as Mr.Loupassi keeps coming up the old council will emerge and the only change would be an elected mayor.Deborah Shands-Lee

2-0 out of 5 stars Janet Jackson
It seems to me that all the hoopla about Janet JAckson's appearance at the SuperBowl is misplaced. Sure what happened happened, but, let it rest. It seems that the only reason it is being given so much press is because of the legal battle being waged by her brother, Michael. Not only that, how many super stars have had embarrasing moments, been given an article, then it is forgotten. 2-0 out of 5 stars Janet Jackson's Semi Nude Picture on the Front Page
I thought the recent picture of Janet Jackson on the front pageof the Richmond Free Press with her breast hanging out was disgusting and done in poor taste and for it to have been shown in a african american newspaper did not make the issue any better. I'm sure the male population found it to be very "entertaining" never the less we do have youth in our community and churches that are very impressionable and I just feel like the whole article was done in poor taste. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Local Newspaper in New York
The Scarsdale Inquirer is the best local paper in New York. I challenge anyone to identify another local paper that matches the Inquirer. Its quality is the local paper that The New York Times would publish if the Times decided to become a local paper.
5-0 out of 5 stars My Friday Fix
I love the Scarsdale Inquirer. It does have the general material--press releases, some calendar announcements, etc.--that can be found online. But it also has a number of stupendous, personal stories about local issues and local people. I know it has won countless New York Press Association Awards and it's very clear why. It's a cornerstone of Scarsdale culture and there really isn't any competition in terms of journalism, although the Internet does offer very useful tidbits of raw data that can be more timely and easy to get to while checking e-mail.

3-0 out of 5 stars Get The Same Information Online at ScarsdaleToday.com
The Scarsdale Inquirer is a fine local newspaper. However, if you want to get Scarsdale, New York news and information without having to pay for it, you can get it onlnie at ScarsdaleToday.com. I highly recommend Scarsdale Today, which has been the leading competitor to the Scarsdale Inquirer for over 5 years now.ScarsdaleToday.com is full of local event announcements and news, has a very useful email newsletter to keep you informed, and it's free. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Forget the National Review. This is the conservative must-read.
Do you want an insiders view of the debate over welfare reform? What the left-wing luminaries predicted and what really happened?
5-0 out of 5 stars A top-flight urban policy and general intellectual journal
I just read another of the outstanding analyses of the world- political situation, this one in regard to nuclear Iran's danger to the world, by Mark Steyn. 'City Journal' has along with Steyn other outstanding journalists, Theodore Darylmple, Stefan Kanfer.
5-0 out of 5 stars Found One of the Best Articles Ever Here
I read one of the most informative and sadly depressing articles ever in the magazine and I highly recommend it to anyone who seeks the truth which the MSM simply refuses to report on because it doesn't fit their blinkered, left-wing, p.c. worldview. The article was called The Prep School P.C. Plague, by a most erudite and stylistically elegant writer named MacDonald, I believe. I highly recommend it to anyone considering sending a poor hapless child off to a prep school as I was. It's a real eye-opener on the whitey-hating self-loathing that exists among liberals who run these elite schools. Great article and great magazine. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautifully written, highly informative!
I was intrigued by the title and ordered a subscription. To my surprise I found this newsletter to be beautifully written and highly informative even for a tea connoisseur like myself! The editor proves that she is highly knowledgeable in tea etiquette and Victoriana, and yet she "speaks" to the reader as if she were sipping tea with a close friend.I have thouroughly enjoyed reading each issue and look forward to future issues to come!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Tea House Times
If you enjoy afternoon tea and recipes, tea information, and Victoriana, you'll really enjoy this publication. It is a newsletter issued 6 times per year.I've seen it in numerous tea rooms, but I like receiving it on a regular basis so I subscribed.I enjoy the articles, tea tidbits and recipes. It is informative, interesting and very professionally done.A real treat, makes me want to visit my favorite tea room more often! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars If President Reagan read it, then so should you!
As I understand it, this magazine was one of only two that President Reagan read every week while in office. You'll quickly understand why: it's timely, well-documented, objective, and very insigtful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Important, Venerable Conservative Weekly
While I still enjoy HE, especially for Sam Ryskind's great cartoons, Ann Coulter's column, and Jihad Watch, I was disappointed to see it let go of two of its most interesting contributors, Kevin Lamb and Marion Kester Coombs.I'm much less bothered that HE eliminated Sam Francis' columns from its database, because, in my opinion, Francis was a pretty darn mean-spirited writer, almost pathologically spiteful.

5-0 out of 5 stars HOUR Detroit is a Great Magazine!
I really enjoy HOUR Detroit. I think it is exactly what a local/regional magazine should be. No matter how well I think I know the Detroit area, HOUR always has features and articles that introduce me to something new. It has wonderful reviews and a wide variety of features. I find that HOUR should appeal to both native Detroiters and those new to the area!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good local magazine
