5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!!!
I just wrote a review for OPM, and had forgotten about this magazine.I also used to subscribe, and had recently let my subscription run out.I will not say it is not because I do not like this magazine, but because I am trying to save some money. But the fact is, that this is probably the best multiplatform gaming magazine on the market.
5-0 out of 5 stars The gaming mag that pays for itself.
I have been subscribing to this mag for a couple years, and think it's one of the best gaming mags available.I have several different consoles, and appreciate that they review games for all platforms.I like the rating system (1-10) instead of the too-hard-to-pin-down 1-5, and find the reviews well written and objective. While I have been gaming for years, I am not necessarily versed in computer lingo, but I never feel like an idiot after reading this mag; the writing is erudite but very easy to understand.I read several different gaming magazines each month, and feel this magazine strikes exactly the right balance between the more serious and more frivolous gaming magazines in the industry.
4-0 out of 5 stars One of the Better Gaming Mags
Since first getting this mag from Gamestop as one of those free add on things you get when you buy games there I have come to really like it. Unlike other magazines who only seem to care about backing one system or another Game Informer talks about everything that is going on in the gaming world, even addressing the serious issues of children and M rated games. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not worth it for a Marine Fishkeeper
First the positive. This magazine is well laid-out and has good photography for the most part. The articles are informative. There are enough reviews on here extolling the virtues of this magazine, so let me tell you the downside.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Definitive Aquarium Hobby Magazine
I have been reading TFH for about thirty years, and it is by far the most comprehensive magazine resource for the advanced hobbyist. It costs a little more than the others, but it attracts the best authors and the photography is stunning. The editors take a more scientific slant than that offered in the two other popular Aquarium magazines, and though I subscribe to all three, TFH captures most of my attention. If you are a serious aquarium keeper, or want to become one, you have to check out this fine magazine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great magazine
This magazine is no doubt the best aquarium magazine in the world.not only does it have clear and understandable information for the beggining and advanced hobbyist, but it's articles cover brand new things, aquarium news, fish profiles, that no other can match. For this reason, i humbly reccomend tropical fish hobbyist. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT magazine.
I've made better gains in 4 magazines of POWERLIFTINGUSA than my 10+ years of Muscle&Fitness & Flex. No more mindless rep after rep of the same exersizes only to show little (if any) gains for your efforts. This is a MUST for those fed up with the 230 page fitness mags with over 200 of them being advertisements being jamed down your throat (no pun intended). If you want to make real gains you can't argue with the methods that are tried & true by those who squat over 1000lbs & bench 800+. I'm pushing more weight than ever & my joint pains are gone now that I'm lifting correctly & not the M&F way. Best weightlifter magazine period. Buy it now.
5-0 out of 5 stars The best powerlfting magazine on the market
Powerlifting USA is the number one magazine for powerlifting news, training, and everything powerlifting-related.It features extensive meet results, interviews with top lifters and strength coaches as well as a number of regular columns.
5-0 out of 5 stars BEST POWERLIFTING MAGAZINE EVER!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Useful for Any Traveler
I go to a gym where people share their magazines, and came across this gem. While it focuses on value vacation packages, the benefit that I've gained from it is its list of 40 top vacation packages to destinations around the world. The magazine also offers an up-to-date web page describing even more places and bargains. It has really expanded my horizons about possible vacation spots. That alone is worth the reasonable cost.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good and Useful Information
Frommer's Budget Travel always has something I can use - every month.Their 20 quick tips are great, the features are actually trips that can be taken without breaking the bank.2 thumbs up!

5-0 out of 5 stars qualcon
Budget Travel is a quite a neat colorful magazine and is loaded with exotic far-away landscapes that do what they are designed to and give one a lift into dreamland. I also like some, not all, of their articles which tend to be well prepared and nicely written.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great magazine. I'm always looking forward to reading it every month.

2-0 out of 5 stars Triathlete Mag
This magazine has some good training tips and all but it does devote alot of space to high profile race results and what the pros are doing.I guess Im more interested in what I can do to improve, so I really dont care much about what the pros are doing all the time. There are alot of advertisments as well, which are good to a point, but they overdo it a little.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Training Tips
It has good training tips, for all of the disciplines. The one thing I don't like about it is that it tends to devote a lot of space to high profile race results, which I'm not all that interested in. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic MLB/NFL coverage
If your interested in Major League Baseball or the National Football League (and hopefully both), this is the best magazine to buy.Coverage of all teams, lots of statistics, fair and balanced reporting and an enjoyable read every week. This is my favorite sports newspaper and the one I spend the most time with.

4-0 out of 5 stars Complete, but it has been better
Sports Weekly is the most detailed look at football and baseball that you will find.It doesn't get any better if you're looking for objective facts, statistics and weekly coverage of your favorite MLB/NFL team.As a baseball fan I subscribed to the magazine (then Baseball Weekly) in 1995 and I have renewed my subscription every year. When the magazine became Sports Weekly around 2 years ago, I knew the baseball coverage would suffer greatly with the addition of football.Sure enough, I was right. Now football dominates just about every cover and close to two thirds of the magazine, even in football's off-season.If you are an NFL fan, this magazine puts to shame just about every publication out there of its kind. For baseballl fans, you will not find better coverage anywhere else for the time being. But be forwarned, we don't know when they will sell out again. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLE MAGAZINE!
I was hesitant at first to spend $29 on a subscription that only sent out four issues a year, but once I received my first issue I was hooked. This magazine is incredible! The pictures of the park from the past and present, articles, and interviews make the E-Ticket magazine a page turner. If you love disneyland you will love this magazine. You can even order past issues in case you want to explore in depth your favorite disneyland attraction.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you miss old Disneyland
Are you one of those people that go to Disneyland, and sigh wistfully, "I remember when I was young and this attraction wasn't here, and they had this great old ride they tore down"? Well this magazine is for you. A work of love by Disney historians and fans, it catalogs old attractions, shows, and personalities of Disneyland as they were in the 50's and 60's, and shows their progress and change over time. Usually an issue is devoted to one major topic, such as a land like Frontierland, or an attraction like the Mark Twain Riverboat. In that issue you would see and hear from former cast members who designed and operated the attraction. It features pictures of concept art, diagrams, the model, construction photos, and finally the finished attraction as it was then and any changes since opening.
5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the BEST!
Growing up with Walt's Disneyland, I was hungry for anything relating to the hidden facts and history of this most Magic of Kingdoms. Once I discovered "The 'E' Ticket", it turned out to be everything I had hoped for and more.I imediately subscribed and ordered every back issue, grateful that I have a totally complete set. 5-0 out of 5 stars I plan on recieving this MBA for years to come.
I first have to say I used to get Bicycle Magazine when they covered MTB but they started sending me Road Bike Magazine also and then ony Road. They blended the two years ago so havent had one since till last year I was checking Amazon for Magazines and found MBA " Mountain Bike Action " and decided that I would subscribe. Happy to say not unhappy at all. This is truelly a MTBikers magazine. MBA covers XC , Downhill and all types of riding. I also enjoy the bike revuews and some of there adds are nice and started buying fron there advertisers. Anywy they post about how to attack a hill or downhill in ways for all levels. I dont work for them and dont care if you buy there magazines. I am just posting in the chance you were like me and looking for a MTB Magazine. I plan on renewing when my subscription runs out. Hope you try because I dont think you will be unhappy.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Mountain Biking Magazine Out There
I have been mountain biking for over 7 years.(I don't count the first time around before suspensions.)I have been a reader of mountain biking magazines for almost 7 years. The only two magazines worth subscribing to are Bike and Mountain Bike Action.Mountain Bike Action is the magazine to read when you are looking for product reviews, web retailers, and technical advice.Read Bike for the pictures (and the stories). Bike is pure mountain biking porn and will make you yearn for warm days and moist singletrack. I read both of the above magazines cover to cover and keep recent copies in my "porcelain throne room".Old copies get saved for future reference.
5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely the best!
I subscribed to Mountain Bike Action and then decided I would try Mountain Biking for a while.BIG MISTAKE!MBA is a far better magazine! The bike reviews are more thorough and the articles by Richard Cunningham are very informative.I have been involved in Mountain Biking for over twenty years and since its inception, this magazine has been the standard!("Dirt Rag" is good, too!) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best of U.S., Possibly World
This is the best U.S. publication for chess and perhaps the best in the world. I have purchased or subscribed to most chess magazines in the U.S. and have purchased many from other countries as well. This magazine is probably the best for analysis, news, photos, tournaments, etc. You also get this as part of your USCF membership with magazine, a required membership for playing in U.S. rated tournaments. For long suffering American soccer fans this was and is the only magazine worth reading on the worlds greatest sport. I have been reading it since I first found it at my local University library back in 1990. Now most bookstores sell it. Paul Gardner, Brian Glanville, and Keir Radnedge are excellent sports journalists with a talent for actually getting to the point. The best leagues from every continent are covered and analyzed. The bio's and pictures are top notch. You will almost always find what you are searching for. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A mag you can trust
PSM is the only mag i know to ever admit they underrated ICO. I quite agree with their ratings which seem to escape most of the commercial influences. The whole package doesn't glitter but it is very effective. It takes me hours to read it unlike some other mags that won't keep me busy fore more than a bus stop interval.

3-0 out of 5 stars You still get what you pay for...
Having been a subscriber to this mag since Fall of '97 (around issue #2 or #3, I believe), I can say the new look the magazine offers is the best since then. With a more adult feel, much of the corny humor has been toned down, and the magazine actually looks more professional than ever. Gone, for instance, is the ridiculous swimsuit issue, which had often badly drawn video game "women" in stupid situations. Starting with issue 111 (June 2006), the magazine has offered better and longer spreads on upcoming games, and a more in-depth review for its Game of the Month. I really wish, though, that the PlayStation games and the PSP games were better spread out, perhaps seperated, and not mixed with each other. The overall feel of the Magazine, though, has grown up and really doesn't need to be a guilty pleasure anymore. However, with all the good the magazine has to offer, some of what has made the magazine not so good has remained. Fanboyism can still rear its ugly head, and their pro PlayStation lovin' can lead to some not so investigative reporting. While they can be abrasive to the PSP, at times, many other instances reveal some bias for Sony, like when they repeated Sony's garbage about why the PS3 controller won't have rumble feedback: because it would interfere with the motion sensor technology. So, why does Wii's controller work? No mention about Immersion vs Sony. None. It's kinda sad and hilarious that a teen gamer on a message board can connect the dots more than supposed game "journalists." And what about the comment from Kazou "Kaz" Hirai (Prez of SCEA)? He stated: "I wish they [Microsoft] would come up with some strategies of thier own, but they seem to be going down the path of everything we do." Yeah, because Sony is so original (I won't even go into "Entitlements"). In the issue before, PSM acknowledged Sony's copying (they used "mugged") of Nintendo's Wii controller, but here no follow up? Curveball questions and reporting if ever there was. Almost as bad as EGM.And while the Game of the Month review can be larger (the staff's Final Fantasy XII review [October 2006, issue 115] was 14 pages long!), the result is passed to the other reviews; a page can be crammed with up to four reviews a page. I should say four paragraphs per pages, as that's what the reviews end up being. When they talk and report about games, PSM really tends to do thier best work, such as their interviews with Hideo Kojima and the spreads regarding Metal Gear. I guess that's why I can recomend the mag at its current price. 12 bucks is nothing (the price is partly why I stuck with the mag for this long). Check it out for yourself, but just remember that PSM is Playstation "family" only--brand specific. Keep that in mind when reading the "independent" praising of Sony by its fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hail to the king of playstation magazines
Alrightly. Folks it doesn't get any better than this. This magazine blends humor with serious reviewing. They will give the strong points and bad while keeping it real to the hardcore player elite - like me! Anyhow, I've read this magazine for a while and I've never been disappointed.
