There was a time when people had names and so did their animals. Everyone felt safe, had common sense, and practiced common courtesy. This magazine is from these people. Lynn Miller,founder,will fascinate you with ideas, a humble attitude, and the truth. The letters section is now my favorite. In this section, people go out of their way to help other people with problems only because they can. It is also very entertaining as it is not edited. Even if you don't farm with horses or ever intend to farm, read this magazine. It is not full of advertisements or people telling you what to buy and why. (My husband and I have attended some farm progress days. The people there are neighbors you would want to live next door to.)Small farmers rock. Don't believe the adverisements. They don't stutter or drool. Our best presidents were not lawyers, but true farmers,stewarts of the land.

Simply Amazing!!
Wow.I've seen & read lots of magazines that say they support "small" farmers, but not ones like me who actually still use horses on their farm. This one really is amazing. It's sort of like browsing through all those old farm magazines your Granddad had stored up in the attic from the 20s and 30s, but with all the information updated and useable for today. There is just everything in this mag. Draft horses galore, even oxen!! All being used on farms or for logging or county fair shows. And lots of other great stuff too. Like making real maple syrup from sap collected by your own family, or how to grow better tomatos. Lots of information on livestock and rare breeds too. arabian horse world
I first started with this magazine back in 1978 when I was training arabian horses, breeding etc.. The mag was very useful and much larger back in 78 as compare to now. But the quality is still present. I'm also an artist part time and have used the incredible photos as reference in drawing and painting horses and the quality is 1st rate. The story lines I've found interesting and informative. As all mags have the problem of advertisting to keep publishing business, I did not find it to be over board as in some mags and most was related to horses anyways. I've been out of the horse business for 14 yrs now and serve in the Canadian Forces, but I still like picking up an old friend in this mag and see all the new stock from the old stock I use to work with, overall the mag is an excellent breeders guide as to what is out there for the breeder and buyers. Keep up the good work, maintain the high quality and remember why you publish the mag in the first place is why I still buy it, to keep the arabian horse lover's appetite wet. Lee

Great mag!
This is an excellent magazine for the interested layperson.The articles are very informative but not too technical, and the photography is first rate.It covers prehistoric and historic archaeology in North America and Mesoamerica, so it highlights a part of the world that other archaeology magazines do not.Plus, a part of the subscription price supports The Archaeological Conservancy, a nonprofit group that buys American archaeological sites to protect them. If you want to keep track of what's happening in American archaeology but don't want to read the dry professional journals, then this is the magazine for you.

Superb Magazine
This is a very well done magazine. An "archaeology buff" friend of mine recommened it to me. It's about archaeology in the United States and does a great job of covering the entire country. Articles include historic and prehistoric archaeology. The subscription includes membership in The Archaeological Conservancy, which is a group that preserves important archaeological sites, so the money goes to a good cause. bonsai today
My collection starts with number one.They make a great reference library.They are written for the beginner, sticking to the basics.They get into older trees that make you want to turn in your collection but we all learn that that level belongs to someone else.Well worth the price.
