great magazine for New Yorkers
I used to subscribe to Time Out New York and wanted a little more than bars/clubs listings or interviews with some weird artists. I found it in New York magazine. I liked its special sections on Best Lawyers and Doctors in NYC. I liked its monthly listing of fun activities in NYC . I liked its summer vacation sections. I liked its one-day getaway ideas. Too many things to list...it's a magazine for mature adults who want useful information as well as ideas on fun places to go to.

The FUN Guide to NYC
Time Out New York is a trendy, hip, and fun weekly guide to New York City.It covers weekly events and reviews for just about everything including; eating out, parks, dance, theatre, bars & clubs, sales & store openings, museums, art, Gay & Lesbian, book readings, live music, and much more.The magazine also features interesting facts, profiles, & interviews in each weekly issue.I think its great whether you are new to the city or a veteran.

got it for my parents...
...and although it was a creative house warming gift, I am not impressed. If you are intrested in knowing what is going on with the lawyers or the fanciest chef's in the Boston area and where to locate these people, this magazine might satisfy you. I got a subscription for my parents when they moved to the Boston area about a year ago and, although they might give it a nicer review since they did RENEW their subscription, being an out-of-towner I am not at all impressed. The magazine seems to be promoting the idea that everyone in Boston is loaded and lives the glamorous life and while I understand that the cost of living int he area is quite high, I do not believe nor have I experienced the image promoted in the magazine to be accurate of the area. In visiting my parents I have tried many times to pick up the magazine and read it to no avail...

This isn't the real Boston...
This isn't the Boston that 95% of us here in Boston know.This is the elite Boston and really boring.There are more ads in this magazine than in 2 issues of Vanity Fair.2 good things about this magazine: 1.The best of Boston edition is very good.2.It perfectly fits my cats litter box as a liner.Read more

New England Charm Captured in Print
Despite the more modern look of Yankee magazine, it still retains its charm and wealth of good articles and information. I have been reading this magazine since I was a child, and you can spend hours poring over the information. From recipes to non-fiction articles, to calendars displaying the latest festivals in the New England area, Yankee magazine is truly a gem to keep on your bedside table.

Yankee Magazine is a delight to read whether or not your heart is in the New England area.Beautiful photographs.Interesting features (A Swap Column every month and on the internet!).I always love recipies and they have recipies with a history that are fun to think about trying. Every issue has several "must-read" articles.

Good, not great.
I have been a NJ Monthly reader for close to 20 yrs now.It is a good magazine, but not a great one.The issues tend to be the same year to year Every June is "The Best of the Shore"; Every other September is "The Top 75 Public High Schools in NJ." Once a year you will get "The Best Doctor's in NJ" and there is always a lot of information about dining in NJ.Many readers fill out their reader survey once per year and look forward to seeing which state eateries top the list.The only problem with the magazine is this, it rarely has anything new.Of course there are some new things going on, but really, the Shore issue could be same year to year.The top restaurants? Usually the same old places, even though there are constantly new and wonderful places (and very hot spots) opening in the State. I think it is because the magazine has the same reader base year after year.So why do I keep reading it? Because I love my state, and this is the best magazine about NJ.It does show a lot of upcoming events and admittedly, I'm a list LOVER, since this is often "The Best Towns in NJ" or "The Most Affordable Towns in NJ" (don't laugh at the latter...) I am hooked.The customer service of the magazine is only ok.Subscription issues are handled quickly, anything further may take some time and they are hard to reach.And it seems to arrive whenever it wants to arrive, not at a set time each month. Many feel this magazine is geared toward North Jersey, and in my opinion, this observation is correct.Also, this is also geared toward the more affluent population of the state, as evidenced by the advertising in the magazine.But if you are new to Jersey and want to learn more you can learn a lot from this publication. ... A Must-have!
I feel that this magazine only continues to improve.The writing is fun, informative and irreverant at appropriate times.The stories are up-to-date and shed light on aspects of Pittsburgh life that otherwise may not be discussed, and the photography is wonderful. It's a great mix of serious topics, fun facts and information that helps me discover new things about the city--new places to eat, events to attend, things to see.I highly recommend it for anyone who lives in or loves Southwestern PA.

Spiraling down
This used to be a really great city mag, full of humor and style that made it must reading for people in the area. But now it's stiff and unimaginative. Pass on this one.

I look forward to receiving this mag every month! Pittsburgh is one of those cool, little-known cities and Pittsbugh magazine gives you everything you need to know to have a blast there. I Love this Magazine - can'tyou publish it monthly, please!
I just love this magazine! All the specialties shops for dog items shown, I could never imagine. I enjoy the doggie scopes, cry at the obituaries and love the dog pictures. I like the picture each publication of the editor and his Boston Terrier. I read it from cover to cover. When I'm done with one issue I can't wait for the next one. Thanks for publishing such a great and informative magazine. Please consider monthly publication.

I recently received a copy of New York Dog Magazine while I was In L.A. After reading it cover to cover I have to say I'm hooked! I'm an avid dog-lover, my life revolves around dogs and I'm so impressed that this mag has everything for people like me. It's almost like being there...
For those of us who miss being in the center of the universe, reading the Observer is almost like being there. In its pink pages I can read stories about New York's political, arts, society, finance, sex and gossip scene.I can smell the inside of a taxi from my house overlooking the lake in Vermont.
