Good for choosing a new style
This is one of the many different magazines that you can find at discount or grocery stores with lots of hairstyle pictures. They are usually seasonal meaning 4-6 issues a year. This particular magazine is mostly black & white pictures. At least the issues I've bought were. This is something you would buy if you wanted a new hairstyle that would involve a new cut. May be great, but you'll never get it.
Just like kecksburg65, I ordered a subscription back in Dec 03 and 3 months later have received nothing but grief.I submitted a customer service request weeks ago, and got no response.When I got them on the phone, they told me they now expect that nothing will be delivered until at least 6 months after the order date. Superb content - the best Elle.
The French Elle contains a wealth of articles on culture, current events around the world, politics, psychology, health, travel, beauty, fashion, etc.Its articles are thoughtful and much more substantive than those in the American Elle (which I find to be pretty shallow).It also contains humorous and fun articles - quite a variety overall.All in all it's one of my favorite magazines. I ordered this back in December 2003 and as of March 2004 still have not received any issue. The Magazine Express service that coordinates these subscriptions provides no customer service and Amazon won't do anything about it either. Don't bother ordering this unless you just want to throw money away because they will bill your credit card and give you nothing in return. Amazon doesn't care about providing customer service on this and all Magazine Express is interested in is your money. ... Read more

I really cannot say better of this Magazine...
...than the other reviewers have already indicated, and I'm a man! I am fortunate that I am able to sneak a read of my partner's copy, it is far superior to other magazines she used to read. The depth, insight and research of the articles is phenomenal and the topics so varied it is impossible to do them justice in a review, suffice to say there is something of immense importance to learn in every edition. There is standard fayre for a Woman's mag too, but even these topics are covered respectfully and with insight and intelligence.
Marie Claire UK Edition
I started reading this in the late 1990's when it was available for sale at the local .... bookstore. It is the most interesting magazine I have read, and covers issues that the US version (and other US magazines) don't cover. I just love it! I also like the extensive beauty news it provides. After the US version came out, the UK version was no longer available at American stores. I decided to subscribe, and although the subscription price was high, I got to enjoy this magazine again for a while. Then suddenly, my subscription was cut off. I have not been able to read it since. Now I'm thinking of subscribing through Amazon.com Still expensive to get it here from England, but I get so much pleasure from reading this magazine.

If you like U.S. Marie Claire, you'll love U.K. Marie Claire
So you say you love Marie Claire because it covers a wide array of topics, from the socially aware to the downright fluffy -- and all in an intelligent and respectful (or notably non-Cosmoesque) manner.Well, once you pick up a copy of the U.K. edition, you'll be all but ruined for American Marie Claire.Not only does the U.K. version have more articles per issue and article type (all in the respectful tone we've come to expect from the U.S. version), but it includes topics that are lacking in the American edition.Ex. -- career, travel, home decor and recipes.The beauty coverage is also more extensive -- on par with the fashion coverage.(With the American version, I feel this is not the case and must look to Allure for the best beauty info.)There are also plenty of fashion, beauty and product recommendations, prices and where to get them.Unfortunately, but obviously, the prices are given in pounds and the sources are British, but I feel the quality of the magazine as a whole justifies at the very least a look, so you can judge for yourself. ... Its good, despite the cheese-whiz covers
I read romantic times magazines for the plot synopsis and reviews of upcoming titles. Part of me wishes the editors would focus more on romance and less on general fiction and other subjects (I have no interest in children's books or articles about cover models).
Excellent magazine
I had only picked up the magazine today because I saw Laurell K. Hamilton on the cover.But as I flipped through the magazine I fell in love with it.It's very thorough in it's reviews, upcoming releases, and and the articles are great.I also checked out the website which is very organized and you can research books that may interest you.It also has some writing tips for writers, which is especially useful to me. This magazine is my new favorite, I like looking for new great authors and books, and this magazine does all the work for me!

Essential Magazine for book lovers Everywhere!
This magazine put a "end" to the meaning "Judge a book by its cover" before this magazine I went into bookstores, grocery stores etc read the synopsis in the back of the book, read the inside scene *teaser* paragraph and pretty much made the decision based on these 2 things whether or not to purchase the books. Romantic Times bookclub features plot information in full detail without giving away the spoilers, will let you know if the book is sensual, steamy, thriller, if the suspense dealt with a matter that was not easy for a reader i.e.; child molestation, child murder etc. Giving you much more information to make a decision if you want to purchase a book or not.

Probably the finest fashion magazine in the world
This one, though it's only a bi-annual, is probably the finest fashion magazine in the world at this time. I keep every issue on my bookshelf as though it were a coffee table book after thoroughly perusing it. Print quality is excellent. Editorial content (even written) is excellent. Some of the best fashion photographers in the world use this magazine as a home for their most innovative expressions that would likely get the axe in other, generally more well-known magazines. Because the readership is pretty hip as far as fashion goes, even the ad content is of better than average quality. And, most interestingly and also quite rare, the quality of men's fashion content is equal to that of the women's. I know of no other fashion-oriented magazine that is so squarely aimed at both sexes equally. I keep these literally as a fashion time capsule of the best of each season.

Where is my magazine??
I bought a subscription for my daughter Keli Johnston in Jan. or Feb. the charge has gone through but so far no magazines have arrived. This pregnancy is only going to be 9months and she is already 5months into it. Can you please check on the status of magazine delivery. Thank you So not worth it
Subscription service assistants for this magazine are pathetic.I paid for my subscription when I submitted my order, yet they suspended my account while "waiting for payment".They have yet to deliver my first issue, and I'm sure I won't even need it by then.There are better magazines out there, and this one isn't one of them.I recommend saving your time and money and avoiding Shape's FitPregnancy.

A great start
My husband and I are thinking about getting pregnant.I wanted to know about exercise and have enjoyed "Fit" magazine.I thought the articles were interesting and helpful but would have liked to see more actually about fitness.There was some nutrition and exercise information but I would have liked to see more.Great place for "to-be" mom's to get ideas.If or when it happens, I'll definitely get a subscription. ... Shallow -- exploits endangered species for "fashion"
I was a loyal subscriber to Elle Decor until they started using endangered species' pelts as decorative accents in their magazine photos.This latest (November 2006) issue was the last straw - featuring a zebra's pelt used as rug in a guady room full of gold details.Three more zebra pelt rugs are shown prominently in the magazine's pages, obviously planted in the featured homes by the publication's staff, who clearly think endangered species pelts are the latest fashion. When I wrote to express my concern about endangered animal parts featured in an earlier issue, I received no response from the magazine - they only print glowing, fawning letters to the editor on their "Mailbox" page...never any criticisms.I am taking this magazine off my list of home decor magazines that I subscribe to - I recommend Home magazine, Architectural Digest, or O at Home instead.Style without conscience is shallow.

Love it!
I'm an interior design major and my mother bought me a subscription to this magazine for Christmas this year...I love it! A previous review mentioned that this magazine advertises things that were wayyy out of her budget. Well, that may be true but if you're creative, it can give you a lot of great inspiration!

The most elegant magazine on the market
I am a long time reader of Elle Decor and I adore it! I save every issue and constantly look at them for inspiration. As one of the few design magazines to not go totally down market in the past few years, I really appreciate the integrity of the houses and apartments ED shows.
